Well, I ordered 8 items of maternity clothes so now I just try them all on and hopefully I can send 5 back.

Mr P has suddenly decided that not only does our bedroom need doing and of course mini's P's room but also the bathroom, oh and all the doors upstairs need replacing and the living room, dining room and sun room carpet need replacing. I don't know where the money is coming from.

I almost forgot, we had our reassurance scan today. No new photos as mini P kept moving. We saw the baby stretching it's legs. I can't wait to feel it. Everything was fine. Nothing to show why the bleed happened. We had a trainee so she talked through every stage. It was good to hear she looks at all the organs, that could be seen, and even checked that the hands and feet were there. No change with my date.

I told people at work this week, they were all really positive.

  • Lovely news Peonie. Slightly jealous of your husband nesting! It takes me hours of nagging and threats for mine to sort the cat littler out- never mind attempt to sort out the building site that we're living in at the moment!

WTDN, I heard from them today- self referred on Tuesday and my new mw will do a booking in appt with me on 23rd at home and around my work hours which is brilliant- think easter has made them run a little behind. I'm also starting an antenatal class that my friend runs that week, am hoping that soon it will all sink in and be real! :) MW was really friendly, she said booking in usually takes 2 hours (I took that as a good sign that they want to get to know you) but as already had bloods etc. it would be more like an hour. Can't wait. 20 week scan stays at the womens as she doesn't think she'll be able to get me into community scan in time but that's ok by me as hopefully once had that the consultant will discharge me anyway.

Fabric for the baby bedding I'm making came today- forgot to buy the backing fabric though so there goes weekend plans... D'oh!

not sure what your aversion is about, but think I must have the same one as I can't abide shopping for clothes, guess for me it's just 20 years of only being able to shop in Evans.

    OMG I'm the same!

    Hi Everyone
21 weeks for me yesterday! Officially passed the half way mark :-)
I am starting to feel slight movements - difficult to describe but almost like popping from the inside lol! Cant wait until its a bit more regular thought!

I am hoping to go with my mum this weekend & order the pram - as we are team yellow I am order a black pram / travel system - Oyster Babystyle I think is the name.
I am not bothering with a moses basket in that hope that I can use a carry cot while downstairs & then the cradle while still in our room.

On that note, I have been looking for bedding for the cradle, and I have seen some nice / cheap things on ebay 7 amazon. I dont want to waste £100 on mamas & papas or winnie the pooh, when I get get a neutral set for £30-£40 on amazon.
Anyone already bought these sets already?

We went for the oyster too!

it's here :) MSE pregnancy club 28. I don't think the 28 refers to how many weeks you are which can be slightly confusing ha.

Teacake, what fabric did you buy?
We actually had a little argument about the decorating he wants to do. In addition to the above be wants to change 2 more radiators, never mind the pointing and blown bricks that HAVE to be done this year. Don't ask me how all of this will get done in 5 1/2 months. In the end I said we should write everything down with approximate costs, then prioritise it. He seemed ok with that idea.

  • Peonie, I am also somewhat jealous of your husband's nesting! We're still in the process of renovating our house and at the moment my husband is far more bothered about working on the garden or finishing his garage, than getting the house finished. Share around some of your husband's nesting! :p

    We had our little one's 20 week scan yesterday. We are deliberately Team Yellow! :D Baby is growing well and everything is as it should be - except the bowel which was "white as bone" and what they term as an "echogenic bowel". It could be caused by one of three things;
    1. Baby has swallowed some blood products in the amniotic fluid; a distinct possibility given they clocked yet another haematoma (old or new bleed, they couldn't say) on my uterus wall yesterday and what they think is the most likely cause of the bowel issues. If it is this then it should clear up by itself.
    2. A viral infection; they took some bloods from me yesterday to send off to see if there's an underlying viral infection that's caused this. Results due back Tuesday/Wednesday.
    3. It's a sign of a genetic/chromosomal issue, such as Downs', Cystic Fibrosis, etc. The consultant thinks it is unlikely that it is this given baby is developing well elsewhere, there is no family history of such conditions and our combined results at 12 weeks were less than 1 in 50,000. Consultant says we *could* have an amniocentesis to test for these if we wanted, but given our previous results he doesn't think it's necessary - plus, the amnio runs a risk of miscarriage and the bleeding I've been having is an additional risk factor added into the mix. So we've decided to not have the amnio for now and see what other results are and go from there.

Consultant has booked us in at the "big hospital" for a more detailed scan at the baby's bowel on Monday. Our "big hospital" is in Newcastle on the other side of the country, so we've got a long day on Monday. He has also booked us in for an additional scan and appointment with him at 24 weeks. So while I'm not going to lie and say I'm rather anxious, I certainly feel like they're keeping a close eye on baby and myself and I can't ask for anything more than that. :)

Hugs Miss_I your little one is really trying to keep you in a state of constant panic aren't they. Glad to hear the doctors think there is probably a relatively harmless explanation for how the bowels look on the scan and that they seem to be taking such wonderful care of you both x

Wow that midwife care sounds wonderful TCOD it would be lovely to have continuity of care but I've seen 3 different ones so far!

Yay for the lovely scan peonie glad little one was good and wriggly!

Welcome Mrs C to be glad your scan went well x

Hugs for the headaches whattodonow that must be really wearing you down but its great your doctor was so supportive x

AFM been in super sorting mode as has DH getting things ready for our little lady, been really brutal with getting rid of clothes and books to charity and taken a few loads to the dump too. DH is totally gooey now we know we're having a girl and its absolutely adorable, the house is filling up with pink stuff! He keeps telling me what a great job I'm doing which is nice to hear, I think its really real to him now he's seen her on the scan

    Hugs to all

    22 weeks today!
