Hello all :hello:
Just added myself. Been feeling absolutely !!!!! to be honest and my GP and midwife are useless. GP has no appointments and midwife doesn't answer her phone! Can't even see her til I'm 19 wks as she's has no appts. Feeling totally p!ssed off with it all. Ended up in walk in centre last night - all fine but need to get my blood checked for anaemia. Have had a headache for 1.5 weeks and exhausted all the time.
Enough moaning!
Hope all are ok. Very exciting times. Loving all the scan results

I also haven't done a Facebook/big work announcement. Only because I remember what I used to feel like when people did it when I was struggling. I.e.: wanting to kick them in the face and then cry0

Welcome WTDN! Good to have the hattrick IVF ladies back together.
Sorry you are having trouble with the midwives. I'm still getting my head around what I'm supposed to expect from midwives vs consultants vs GP's. I'm also not sure when I'm supposed to book in for NCT classes etc.
I was told on Monday that I should be prepared to have the baby at around 34 weeks, as she said she hasn't seen anyone with my history go further than that, but then after a scan said actually things look really good. Helpful to have an idea so I am more comfortable with my decision to take Mat leave as soon as I can (probably early August).
However, overall a really positive experience, the first I have had at that hospital. She was shocked I was sent away at 8 weeks (after first MW appointment) and not immediately referred to the prematurity clinic. I actually got a bit emotional at that, and said I knew that, but I simply couldn't get an appointment despite begging for one. I didn't want to tell her that the nursing assistant in the room HAD seen my notes at 8 weeks, but had sent me away after the midwifes had tried to refer me immediately.0 -
thanks for the advice re maternity clothes, I can start looking now properly.
when I was trying stuff on yesterday I was stood seeing how far things pulled out to guess how much bump they would fit.0 -
Also with maternity jeans, I have primark ones that don't seem to stay up very well but I like my asos ones.0

Congrats anyname! Put you in yellow hope that's ok
wtdn - I have had a cold for a week. This culminated in a headache starting on Sunday and not leaving until this morning. I took my first pg related day off work on Monday. I spent maybe 8 hours max awake on Monday and a LOT of time watching Agatha Christie, Murder She Wrote and the like, falling asleep to it as it the stories got too complicated. I would like to point out that those programmes would not normally stretch my intellect. I work in the NHS and had a very helpful chat with my mw. I will re-post it from the under 12 weeks as I think there is a lot of misperception about their role due to them not communicating that. Already being in the system as it were I knew what to ask.
t2d - so glad you have had a positive experience.
daisiegg - some days I can eat less all at once. My portions might be the same over a day (not sure actually might look more closely) but I can't eat a normal size dinner. My belly is squishy and big for sure. No neat little bump here either.
Thanks for all the clothing advice. What is my aversion about?Met DH to be 2010

not sure what your aversion is about, but think I must have the same one as I can't abide shopping for clothes, guess for me it's just 20 years of only being able to shop in Evans.0

Oh forgot to say our pram arrived today and it is beautiful, been playing round with it all afternoon and I love it to bits! Went for the cosatto giggle travel system in bizzy betty and its super cute and more importantly really light and compact.
My e-bay purchases should start trickling in over the next few days as well, one lot had tons of clothes and 3 gro-bags for 99p utter bargain! I bought way too many clothes but they were all cheap so it's not too bad!
Getting really excited now, DH is super excited about us having a little girl and it all suddenly seems real!
We haven't done a Facebook announcement but I think we may put something brief up in the not so distant future, before somebody "outs" us anyway.

OK so mw expectations as had with my NHS mw:
'My mw made it clear that it was fine to contact her for any non emergencies but for anything else to contact an emergency number (A&E, out of services GP, 999). I work in the NHS so I am familiar from my team that when we are off the phone sits in a drawer as we are not meant to be an emergency service either. It is confusing if no-one makes it clear. '
She explained that she worked four 12 hour days on and that was her week's contracted hours. She also presumably has holiday, training and sick days and I didn't ask specifically, but certainly in my NHS job no-one covers a mobile for someone else when they are off. It's probably better to think of them as no more available than a practice nurse or district nurse.
My GP is not easy to get for appointments either and I expect she is exactly the same. The way the NHS is going the funding is getting squeezed and squeezed. My service had seen its 'quota' of patients by January (new financial year starts in April). As we are NHS we keep seeing patients over and above our quota. Rumour has it that the private companies that do the same job, just stop when they get to their number quota. We have been told we need to save £60000 next year and become more efficient. It feels impossible. We already feel pretty efficient at being 3 months ahead of our actual patient numbers. But the government want to crush the NHS and this is the way they do it.
Sorry rant over re NHS. Went off a bit sideways. The patients and staff suffer while the politicians skip off with their bags of money :mad::mad:Met DH to be 2010
