Yay, we got our downs test results back and they are 1:4,400 so low. I was happy until I stupidly googled to find out other peoples and saw they had 1:17,000 and 1:100,000 and had to make sure I read the number of zeros right. Note to self: be happy with the results as you do not have reason to worry about them.
hi we got our results back yesterday, we're low risk but 1:2566. was going to google what was really low risk until I read your message so I will step away from google. Had a mooch around town today on way back from OH's hospital appointment, really struggling to find evidence of maternity wear for people size 20 or above, will have to have a look online but not a clue where to start.
I've had to start testing my sugars this week :( so far they have all been below the necessary limits but I'm sure I will have to continue to do it for the rest of the pregnancy, which is sooooo not fair! if I could take the gtt then I would just do that, pass it and nothing else would happen but because I can't do it I have to keep testing.

I'm not great with numbers and neither is DH. He swears 1 in 2566 means 0.00038971% and that 1 in 4400 is 0.00022727%. If he's right it sounds even more minimal? Still means that for every baby born with Down's syndrome with those measurements, 2565 or 4399 babies are born without it. It's an approximation but with a comfortable sounding risk margin?

So jeal had to go to the list to see how far you were and when it might happen for beyond the nighttime bloating. Don't even get me started how exciting i find it when people share that they feel the moving baby! And getting to find which team you're on if you want. They're the bits to keep my weary body from going.

thanks lilmiss, realistically I know it's low risk, could be a lot worse, in the 1 :50 range etc but typical human behaviour to compare yourself to others.
feeling jealous of those who have felt their baby or know it's sex, we've a month before we may be able to find out the sex and it will probably be about the same before I'm likely to feel something.

Lilmiss, I agree the numbers are low and you are right, they are well below 1% chance but like lemon tree said - human nature. I'm not unduly worrying about it like yesterday.

Lemon tree - some items of N3xt maternity go up to size 22. I've just ordered some clothes from them and one of the dresses I want is sold out - nooooooo.

Silly question: is it easy to tell if maternity clothes will fit pre- bump? It is silly as I already have an occasion maternity dress. But is it the same with trousers?

I don't think it's a silly question at all! I would like to know the answer as well?

Seems to be 16 weeks at the earliest before feeling movement? Plus we have to hope we don't have a demure leg crossing 20 week scan...patience self.

Feeling much brighter this morning (don't get me wrong still exhausted and full of cold but just feeling less sick). I spent all of yesterday not knowing what I wanted to eat. Every time I thought if something I went off it. Yawn!

Someone in the office (no children) wondered if every tummy flip made me think it was the baby moving. No I said, I think 'oh heck not more wind.' I might have disappointed her with that response...

I'm off to Barcelona on 2 weeks and need to get over my mat clothes buying fear.

Oh any name GOOD LUCK. I was so nervous for the 12 week one - is it a similar nerves? Rubbish having to go on your own :( will OH be around on the phone when you're done? Don't forget to take a magazine to pointlessly flip through without reading and rolling up with nerves!
