Argh, I'm really happy. I nagged the hospital for a photo of our, then, embryo and they've sent me a 30 second video. I don't know at what date it starts, possibly day 1, but it goes through to 5 day blast. It's amazing. I'd best get the old biology book out and check.

It's just turned a crap day into a good one.

Oh that would be wonderful peonie. I'd love to see it if possible and you would be ok to share it! I might go check out and see if there are some on you tube.

I've had a very drowsy day. Slept like a real baby! Deep intense sleep for a few hours at a time, then up for a little while and then fall back asleep again. I'm really struggling to eat too, so hopefully baby is getting enough from the existing store of energy. Dh is being great and brings me random food from time to time in the hope I will eat something! But pain better managed and feeling better as time goes by.

Im meeting my consultant obstetrician tomorrow who doesn't know I've had this operation. Should be an interesting conversation. We are in Hammersmith but I think dh will drive me and we will wear the parking cost for once, I'm definitely not London transport ready yet.

Just added myself to the list.

Fallen Archer - took us both off the under 12 weeks list. Hope that's ok.

Purcy81 - coloured you yellow - hope that was right?

Started telling people outside family and very close friends. Mostly all work and they have all been very lovely which is very fortunate. Feel ridiculously nervous telling people - not sure why. Spending a lot of time beaming from ear to ear and looking at scan photos with DH. Probably the best few days I've had since being pg and that's with a stinking cold that has spread to my sinuses! Yay scans.

Good luck creditcrunch and lilmissup (ps like the name :D)

T2D, I'll ask DH how to share it.

Laila, I'm sorry about your nan.

TeaCake, my midwife mentioned to us that your hospital no longer provides formula. I think she may have been a tiny bit miffed that we said we would have considered it if the journey was not so far. It's the clinic's fault for being so good. Like wang said, I would take a couple of bottles of cartons of milk in case.

Last night I looked around the house for bits of baby clothes. I found 4 knitted cardigans by DH's mum, unfortunately she passed away a few years ago, 2 gift sets - 4 bibs, 2 vests (0-3 months) and a hat, and a New Zealand rugby top for a 12 month old. That's not including the clothes I bought as future gifts!

Today I went bump shopping: 1 pair of tights - I know I'll need more but I was shocked by the price, set of 3 bump bands from NL but then went to H&M and got 2 more in the sale for £3. 5 is a bit excessive but I figure anything I get can be sold on.

Silly question: is it possible to breast feed and express at the same time? Mmm, maybe not enough hands and the noise could disturb the baby.

    Thanks Lilmiss.

    *delurking*

I've been breast feeding for 10 days now and when my milk came in I tried to express (not to feed the baby as you're supposed to wait until breast feeding is established first, but just to relieve some of the pressure) but nothing would come out.

However when I'm feeding I leak from the other side. So I'm going to get breast shells to collect the milk or try expressing at the same time. I think it's because when you are feeding and looking at the baby your hormones are influencing the milk coming out whereas otherwise it can be hard or ineffective time wise. However some people do express really well once they get going with it.

I just think it's probably quite hard at first. But I don't think the baby will be distracted. My DH turned the Hoover on and she doesn't flinch! Too interested in feeding lol! And if you support yourself with pillows you can have one arm supporting/holding baby, and the other using the pump
So I think you'd have enough hands. I mean I eat my dinner whilst feeding or go on my phone like I am now :)

But don't worry about getting your boobs out infront of people, no one has seen mine! :)

credit crunch, my mum said she didn't feel movement until about 24 weeks! :( I thought it would be earlier than that but I think especially with a first baby it is not uncommon for it to be quite late.

I am constipated :( I never get constipated! Is there anything we can take?

I've been suffering with IBS and have been taking Lactouse and fibergel both taste disgusting but you can get from your GP or pharmancy exercise 5 a day and lots of fluids also help good luck
