I bought almost all my maternity clothes off eBay and saved a total fortune, bought them mainly in bundles like 9 next maternity tops for £18 which was a total steal, I have to dress smartly for work so bought quite a lot of stuff for that. Also the new look and asos sales yielded some good bargains too. I had trouble with jeans & trousers as I'm extremely petite but eBay came to the rescue again if you don't object to second hand stuff it would definately be my first port of call.0

I've been looking at ebay Purcy and definitely think I'll try and order some bits from there as well. Just need to work out what I like the look of!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0

There's no way I'm whipping mine out in public or at friends or relatives - including my mum. That's why I'm leaning towards the Tom Tip products so DH can also feed mini P and so I can take bottled expressed milk out with me. That's the idea anyway When asked by the midwife if I planned to breastfeed I said I'd give it a good try.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Loving the bottles & breast feeding chat. Like someone else said I hope to give it a go but if it doesn't work out I won't best myself up.
One of my colleague bf & expressed a fair bit too & she used avent bottles.
They seem to be available every where so I think I'm going to get some when they are in offer.
Can I ask if / when you ladies feel movement yet? I will be 20 weeks on Tuesday & haven't felt anything worth talking about. I know it happens at different time for different people but I can't help but worry a bit :-(0 -
I will be bottle feeding from the off. I have extremely sensitive and painful breasts and nips, even before I was pregnant so it's not something I am comfortable with as I know it will be too painful. OH can't even go near them.
I have to admit I am really stressing about the reaction I will get from people and I hear horror stories about mean midwives who try to force BF. TBH this scares me more than the actual giving birth.0 -
credit crunch, my mum said she didn't feel movement until about 24 weeks!
I thought it would be earlier than that but I think especially with a first baby it is not uncommon for it to be quite late.
I am constipatedI never get constipated! Is there anything we can take?

TCD, the Lansinoh bags aren't re-useable (so if you're intending to get through a lot I suppose it could be cheaper to use washable pots).
I was expressing for 2-3 feeds per week, when I was in work, until DS was 8 months. At that point I was back in work 5 days a week so changed to mixed feeding. I have to say that even with a Medala Swing electric I hated expressing. It took ages, about 45 mins to get one feed's worth of milk. So I felt like I was stuck to a milking machine for hours overall and really didn't enjoy it at all. BF'ing was fine, so hopefully that will work out again this time around is it is so much cheaper than formula. But I will only express if I really have to. At least we can afford for me to take a decent length of maternity leave this time so I won't have to express for going to work.
Had to wake DS up this morning, the clock change really threw him. Last nights shouting was because his night light had run out of battery. I sat and read him a few stories while DH sorted out some charged batteries... then he went off to sleep again
I am pretty sure I felt some wriggles yesterday (16+1) but this is baby 2 so likely to be earlier. I ate rather a lot of chocolate - perhaps you could give it a try if you haven't felt anything yet... took about half an hour to reach baby I think. Even if it doesn't work for you, it's a great excuse to eat chocolate
Another vote here for the ebay maternity bundles - they're great. Also do a local search, I picked up several things for 99p and didn't have to pay postage.0 -
Credit Crunch. I'm 20+3 and I started to feel kicks about 9 days ago so I wouldn't say it's anything to worry about if you haven't felt anything. My midwife said that I would start to feel it from 18-24 weeks. I also feel it when I'm laying flat on my back in bed the most generally in the morning.
I've bought a few maternity clothes so nice tops to go out in but strappy tops etc just got from h&m as there not too badly priced and I'm going to take a look on eBay.
Had the worst week the last week. My nans just been diagnosed with terminal cancer completely out of the blue no signs symptoms nothing and it's unlikely she will be here long enough to see the baby. It's first time I've written that and I can't bare to think about it. We only lost my grandad last year too. To top it off I've now got a sticking cold just to make matters worse.
Anyway sorry to bring the thread down. Got my scan to look forward to Friday. Think some others are the 2nd April so bit before me?0 -
I'm sorry about your nan Disney.
T2D, how are you feeling? Are you out of hospital yet?
I've just got back from taking my DSis to chemo. She was shattered by the time we got back.
I don't mind the idea of wearing second hand maternity clothes it's the bidding I hate. I think my next purchase will be maternity tights.
Daisie, are you going to go maternity clothes shopping while on holiday?Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Disney, so sorry about your news. Life keeps hitting you from all sides sometimes. Hope you are coping ok.
I'm out of hospital today and totally wiped out. I think it's post surgery fatigue + early pregnancy fatigue. I hope so otherwise I can't imagine how I will do this again with a newborn! The whole experience was much harder than expected to be honest, but I guess next time I'll also have access to more drugs. Ive been only on panadol since sunday morning.
Will update now later. For now I'm sleeping comfy in my own bed with my tummy support pillow which is a godsend. I'd recommend it for any csection ladies0
