T2d just to say don't let the 'elective' thing get to you (although does seen odd the dr was saying you 'requested' it?!
I think & we learned at nct they refer to any planned section as elective, any section that isn't planned as emergency and one in a real emergency a 'crash' section.
For example my baby was breech which if they had discovered earlier would have been an elective section - even though I would have basically had no other choice, but as it was only diagnosed on the day of labour it's counted as an emergency section. But it's not like I was being wheeled down the corridor with all hell breaking loose!
Anyway glad to hear youre not relying on that junior dr it's never good if a dr hasn't heard of an operation you've had!!0 -
Hi all, thought I had better check in - realised I read every day but have not posted for a few days!
Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry to hear about people's losses and sick relatives and work stresses.
As for me I am limping towards the end of term. So much better than I was biut still pretty sick and tired - when do I get the famous second trimester bloom?! Am 14 weeks today and still being sick most days (though no where near as bad as it was) still really tired, skin looking terrible, etc. Never mind!
Off on holiday on Sunday. A week in Boston and a week in Florida. Can't WAIT. Just hoping I feel well enough to enjoy it. We are going to factor in naps every day and lots of rest! Not hugely looking forward to the flight but at least it is a short one to Boston and we fly first (I know, spoiled - using points not all cash btw!) so I will have space and relative comfort. I will miss being able to have the free flowing champagne though!
On that note, is anyone drinking at all? I have not (apart from one sip of my grandma's sherry on Mother's Day lol!) but not sure if it is ok to have a tiny bit very infrequently. Can't really decide.
Oh also, my apps today say now I need to stop sleeping on my back. It still seems early to worry about that...what is everyone else doing? I always sleep on my back, it will be really hard to stop!
I need to get moving - still in bed at nearly midday! Need to go and pick up a few bits for holiday. No motivation!
Hope everyone is doing ok and all our little beans are cooking away happily!0 -
Daisie, when I asked the physio last pregnancy she said you could sleep on your back until about 20 weeks. Even after that I'd often wake up on my back anyway! I have had a little wine / port / whiskey - at most half a glass (of wine, not the whiskey LOL) but usually just sips.
Had my midwife appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat, it was lovelyAll OK, next appointment is my scan in a month!

Hi everyone.
Hope you're all doing well, hugs to all those in need.
Glad the funeral went as well as can be expected Laila x
Sorry your hospital appointment was so carp t2d glad you've been able to push for the treatment you need.
Not much happening in wangdoodle land. Just steadily getting bigger. I finally have a noticeable bump, although I just feel fat really.
I think I'm going to have to give up running and keep my exercise in the gym from now on. I had hoped to continue for as long as possible but it's so uncomfortable, so much pressure down there that I just can't enjoy it.
Re sleeping on your back, I know you're not meant to, but while I make every effort to fall asleep on my side I often wake up on my back. We also BD with me on my back quite a lot (sorry if TMI!) and it's not uncomfortable...yet!

I read on the NHS website that there is no conclusive evidence to support any risk caused by the m2b's sleeping position.
I was quite worried as I am a tummy sleeper and as much as I try I can not get out of it and always wake on my tummy. The general opinion was that it would become uncomfortable to do so before any risk would be caused.
I guess in some cases you just have to listen to your body??
