  • Thanks Tilly, I have tried the forehead stuff before but I usually feel quite nauseous when I have a really bad headache & the smell would tip me over the edge I think. Still not feeling great this morning, was asleep by 9 but woke in the night for a while. Hoping a bit of fresh air on the way to work will blow away the cobwebs!

17 weeks today, goodness it's going fast! x
  • Sorry you didn't get the promotion Tilly. Must have been frustrating being given silly reasons too.

Hope your headaches improve Princess Kate.

Sorry if I've forgotten anyone else!

    Big hugs for everyone!

Aunty Pickle - Sorry to hear surgery is the chosen option, I hope all goes well, make sure you rest up post op and keep us posted.

Tilly_dreams - I am very frustrated for you. However you seem to have the right attitude focusing on the importance of the baby and I'm sure down the line there will be other opportunities and perhaps this way you won't feel obliged to rush back earlier than if you had got the new job.

I had a mini wobble yesterday; I felt movements for the first time last week which were wonderful, but they seem to have tailed off. I assumed it must be normal (as I'm only just 18 weeks) but then my mind went into overdrive and I convinced myself that something may be wrong. I text my midwife and she wasn't concerned, she said that at this point the baby is small and can change position quite easily to a place where movements aren't felt. I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry. I have my 20 week scan 2 weeks today so I hopefully I will feel better after that.

  • Hi Jedi, congrats and welcome!

my OH is lovely and supportive - he has been wonderful while I had real bad morning sickness. My mum has offered to come and stay which we will probably accept as OH can't take time off work. (well, he can but he wanted to save leave for when baby arrives!) He is going to ask if he can work from home - even if it's just afternoons.

our local church is also very supportive and have offered to organise a rota for meals!

  • Just popping back for a quick visit:o

Aunty-Pickle Good Luck with the op, sorry you have to go through it. At least the Doctors are dealing with it quickly. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Nicky Noo Na - Baby seems to be getting really active in the day now, I think being sat at a desk in work means there is less room in there so I can feel more. I was disappointed when they said I had anterior placenta as I didn't expect to feel much at all so I'm excited every time I feel a movement! I did 2 really big kicks last night when lying on the sofa watching TV with OH. Can't wait for OH to be able to properly feel them too.
And I agree, the other thread is scary!!:rotfl:

Tilly_dreams - See you soon, it will fly by! I'm sorry about the promotion but your plan sounds ideal and the 3D scan will be fab. We've booked one and OH is very excited about it.

danielley I haven't really noticed a difference in hair growth but haven't had my hair cut since last christmas so can't really comment there!

Mrs T_M hope you're feeling better now.

Princess kate we are just hanging some pictures up in the nursery, it's already painted all white (like our house… which is tiny so don't want blocks of colour everywhere) and bought the cotbed last weekend even though baby won't be going in there for ages.

Aunty Pickle sorry to hear you have to have the op :( all the best for a speedy recovery.

Tilly really sorry to hear you didn't get the promotion :( baby is definitely worth focusing on more though as you say :)

I am 25 weeks today so moving over to the other thread, will take myself off the list (and Nicky Noo Na as I see she has already moved over). Hope to see you all over there soon :)

I've just taken the plunge and booked a 4D scan. Eek!

I will be 24+1 on the day, which is apparently a good time to do it with twins. The downside is that it's the day before my next NHS scan; it's a shame they can't be a bit more spaced out to spread out the excitement! But I guess having a scan every 4 weeks doesn't leave much option for that.

Is anyone else planning to have one?
