  • I keep forgetting (I'm doing this a lot at the mo!) My 20 week scan is 18th November. If it can be added to the list when it is done next please. I like keeping an eye on it to see who has what coming up.

Hope everyone is ok & having a nice weekend, we popped into town, was manic, full of christmas shoppers already i think! We only went to John Lewis, bough a gorgeous penguin blanket! I love penguins & at this rate our baby will be forced to as well! We had a bit of a look at pushchairs while we were there & there were lots of very helpful staff there, we were hinting of the Oyster but had a proper look at the iCandy & are now very confused! Has anyone else been looking or buying? What is everyone thinking of going for. Such a hard decision, lots of money and so don't want to get it wrong!

Princess Kate - you and your penguins sound like me and my bunnies! lol! We are planning on doing 'Guess How Much I Love You' in the nursery, but their stuff is soooo expensive, so I'm just keeping an eye out for anything with a bunny on it or little stuffed bunnies to go in there.

Penguins, bunnies...for mine it will be whippets! I'll no doubt be getting them cuddly ones to match our real life cuddly ones :-)
  • Hehe funny how everyone has their "thing" I've got quite a few penguin things for baby already! Did find penguin wallpaper but thought it might be a bit much!! Has anyone else started thinking about decorating & big purchases, not really sure when you should do it all really?

Princess K, we went for the oyster with ds and will be using it again with this bubba. All I can advise is to try and have a play with as many pushchairs as you can. OH and I went to kiddicare, went our separate ways to look at pushchairs and both ended up favouring the oyster the most! I think we have an older model but feel free to ask any questions about it and I'll help if I can :) we really liked some mamas and papas ones too but they were a good couple of hundred pounds more expensive.

    Fingers crossed for Monday Tilly!

Sorry to heard about your hospital stay Mrs TM, hope you are feeling a lot better now.

Is anyone else finding their boobs complete agony?! Think I've mentioned it before but wearing a bra is unbearable and anytime they're touched or brushed against by clothes I am in so much pain!! Doesn't help that ds is accidentally kicking/whacking them too  sooooo tired today, been up with ds on and off since 2am as he's got a cough keeping him up which means it keeps me up too!! Roll on bedtime! :rotfl:

    Hope everyone's ok

I have already painted the nursery (started that before I became pregnant this time as part of my therapy after losing Dale), put down *most* of the flooring, have a buggy, car seat, pram insert (soft sided) for the buggy, and a moses basket. I also have a full container of cloth nappies washed, stripped, dried, stuffed, and folded, and a soft sided 'under the bed' container full of clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, etc. Oh, and someone gave us a bouncy chair! I have wall stickers picked out and still want to get a dropside cot (if possible, regular cot otherwise), a dresser that's wide enough that I can put a changing mat on top, a comfy chair, and a floor lamp for night time feeds. Baby won't be going into the nursery until it's 6 months probably though! :rotfl:

I think I'm already nesting - washed everything in the shower/tub, dried and organised all of the shampoo/conditioner/bath soak/etc bottles, rolled up all of the flannels, scrubbed the sink really well, and the kitchen is nearly spotless! Also tidied the entry way, put down a rug for our shoes there, and vacuumed the stairs (with DH's help) yesterday!

I've already started to make plans to redecorate the bathroom as well if I can get permission from our landlords, but the floor will have to wait until after baby is here, I can't get down that far any more, lol!

  • Very organised Mrs TM! Have to say I am thinking we probably will go with the oyster, nice & light too which is always good & not a totally rediculous price like some of them! I'm looking forward to starting to get the room sorted so I'll have one where to put all of the bits I'm already gathering! Need a new carpet in there so will do that before Christmas probably & can then get on with the rest. Time goes a lot quicker than you think it will, especially with christmas rapidly approaching. I do like to be organised too so no doubt it won't be too long before things are properly underway in there!
  • Hope everyone is ok and benefitted from the extra hour in bed... I mean, extra hour of housework ;)

I collect crocodiles - not sure that's a particularly cuddly theme for a nursery!!!!

My sister (who had a baby in August) has the Chicco Activ3 travel system and says it's really good. She doesn't live locally but hopefully we'll meet up soon and I can have a play (with the buggy as well as with my new niece!!!!) Sadly the whole ms/nausea has made travel problematic so haven't been able to face the journey (yet).

Just thought I would find the list - I had to go back a lot of pages!!!!
I suppose some people at the top of the list are technically on the next thread up?
Do people want the list kept updated? I don't mind doing it every now and then while I'm on this thread. Otherwise I guess people can update it themselves?
Newbies to this thread - feel free to add yourself!!
