  • Afternoon Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been on in ages, We went on holiday week before last so were busy sorting work and the house before we went and have been snowed under since we got back.

I hope everyone that was feeling under the weather is better now? I'm mostly feeling human again, apart from the heartburn, so am really starting to enjoy being pregnant at last!

I have felt a lot more movement over the last two weeks and we seem to be getting into a bit of a routine with certain times of the day Bean being much more active than the rest of the day.

We won a medical stethoscope on Ebay for a couple of £'s and have heard the heart beat which has been amazing. It is just for fun/bonding though, if I have any worries I'll be straight on the phone to the MW.

We had our repeated scan just before we went away and the lady was fantastic. She got the measurements she needed really quickly so we spent most of the appointment just watching Bean:T S/he was waving and blowing kisses/bubbles which was really amazing to watch, even the lady was impressed! We are staying Team Yellow although we are both convinced that we know what we are having!
We have a 3D scan booked in a couple of weeks and are both really excited for that although time seems to be flying by and we seem to have such a lot to do!

Sorry for the essay! I just wanted to catch up before I move up to the Big Girls Thread, we're now 24+1 so I guess I should take the plunge  I'm still going to read this thread and can't wait to see you all on the next one.

    xxx

Oh pants, pants, pants, pants, pants and double pants :(

Had scan this afternoon and the (non-cancerous) mass has grown so they will need to operate. Pre-op tomorrow and operation on Monday. A big mid-line incision (straight up from pubic bone to belly-button ) under general anaesthetic. Will be in for ~5 days and recovery weeks.

  • Oh no pickle, so sorry to hear that. Good luck and hope the op and recovery go well.

Good to see you back estate princess, I'm feeling similar to you, feeling baby move more and energy levels slightly better than a few weeks ago so enjoying this bit of pregnancy.

I need to move over to the big girls thread too but I've been lurking there and it's all a bit scary, actual babies! Hopefully see you and sulphate over there, think we're all due the same week.

Had my 25 week midwife appointment this afternoon and all is well so really need to get on with getting organised and buying things now! Oh and got my MAT B1 form so need to give that in at work and make it official!
  • Oh no pickle. Try not to worry, hope it all goes ok & I hope your recovery is quick but be sure not to overdo it too soon. Just not worth the rid!

As for me I've got another horrible headache. I've always suffered with a lot of headaches but as I can now only take paracetamol it just doesn't touch it. I get so tired by about 2.30 & obviously when I'm in work I can't just go for a lie down, so fighting it just make me get an awful headache. I've had a few early nights but I just don't sleep that well, wake several times & struggle to get back to sleep each time.

    Sorry for the moan!

Had my bloodtest for my Down's screening yesterday, said I'd hear by tomorrow if it came back as high risk, a few weeks by peter if it's low risk. aren't really thought about what i'd do re amnio if it came back as high risk but hopefully I won't have to.

Sorry to hear about your op, Pickle. Hope it goes smoothly!

Someone I know has just found out she's pregnant... due in less than a month! Totally incredible; she had no idea.
  • After experiencing 13 weeks of knowing I'm pregnant I have no idea how someone could get to 36 weeks & not know! What a shock it must have been for her!
  • Hi everyone :)

Congrats on moving up to the big thread Estate Princess and Nicky Noo Na! See you there in a month or so!

Sorry to hear about your op Aunty Pickle. I presume it's perfectly safe for baby? Make sure you get plenty of rest, you don't realise how much you use your core muscles until you can't use them so do look after yourself!

Kate - have you tried that 'Forehead' stuff? It's like a stick you rub on your forehead with a menthol type smell if I remember correctly. I've been lucky not to suffer with headaches this time around (so far, touch wood) but I remember that helping in the past.

As for me, I didn't get the promotion :( really disappointed and the reasons they've given me are just lame too. But this baby's a million times more important so I'm just going to focus on that now. So to treat myself I've booked a private gender scan for this Saturday!! So excited, can't wait to find out :)
