People keep telling me I'm getting a mega bump. 20 weeks now with twins; there's no hiding it! But they tend to qualify their comment with "it's probabaly because you were nice and slim to start with, so it is showing more". Suck ups/not wanting to make me feel too much like a whale :)

My belly button is starting to flatten out now; I guess soon it will become and outy!
  • Funnily enough I noticed that my belly (15+3) looked significantly bigger today! But its not rounded out at the bottom yet, I've still got my muffin top but it feels harder so hopefully it will all round out soon so I definitely look pregnant and not just fat :p My OH reckons I'm showing but that's because he knows I'm pregnant, I don't think other people would notice... or they wouldn't say anything anyways as it's definitely that grey area 'are they aren't they' at the moment :p

Carrot - I hope you have a lovely holiday! Hubby and I thought exactly the same as you in that this will be our last relaxing holiday for a while, so we've booked up for the Oct half term to an AI resort. My allowance will consist of mocktails and ice-creams ;) Can't wait, and we only booked it on Wednesday! Need to go holiday shopping tomorrow, so hopefully I can pick up some bargains :)

Tilly - good luck with the interview. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

As for ante-natal classes, to be honest I've not actually thought about them yet! I know I want to go to some, I'll probably go for the NCT ones so I'll need to have a research in my area. How far along do people tend to be before they go to them?
  • Oh Aunty Pickle, I do hope you're feeling better :( it' can't be easy feeling like crap all the time :(

Ooooh good luck with the interview Tilly, keeping everything crossed for you

Hope you have a lovely holibobs Carrot, I'm more than a little jealous, I'd love a little break away! Enjoy every second before life gets a lot more interesting!!

We did the nhs antenatal classes last time round, they were over 2 days and not much help tbh!! If I remember right they're not till after 30 weeks so dint get mentioned yet. I'd be tempted with the NCT classes if they weren't so blooming expensive!!

AFM, I *think* I'm beginning to feel more regular movements, was 17 weeks yesterday but am not 100% sure! Feeling fat rather than pregnant and still have a B bump which shows no intention of rounding out :(:(:( my boobs are also very very sore! I'm sure this was meant to ease after 12 weeks but they're agony and having to wear a bra is torture!!

    Hope everyone is doing ok

With NCT classes you search based on your due date and they give you results of courses at the right time. I'm due mid/late Feb and the course is mid December (when I'll be 27-28 weeks), if that helps :-)
  • Anyone planning on making a Christmas cake this year? Reckon it can still be made with alcohol?! ;)

  • While lying awake at 5am this morning, (this is my new trick!) I was thinking about christmas cake! I don't usually put too much alcohol in my cake but maybe alternate between that & fruit juice or whatever the alternative is for adding alcohol. I've never got drunk on christmas cake, oh I'm getting excited for christmas already!! When should you make your cake? I can never remember, usually wait for the statuses on Facebook & then rush out to buy everything!

Got my private scan this afternoon. Wonder if it's possible to have one without getting really worried & worked up that there might be something wrong!? I'll update later!
  • I normally make it around October half-term time so getting pretty close! I think you can use orange juice instead - for both soaking the fruit and for "feeding".

We are thinking of having Christmas just us this year. We normally do the whole travelling around the country thing but I will be ~25 weeks and can't imagine I will enjoy (a) lots of car journeys and (b) lumpy sofa beds!!!

All the best for your scan this afternoon!!!

  • Ooo exciting Kate, looking forward to the update later!

Thanks for the good luck messages - I have an interview next Friday! Lots of prep to do now! X

I soak my fruit in tea for my cakes - I don't eat it but I've not had a complaint yet!

  • We had our scan earlier, everything was perfect & was a million times better than our NHS one. Baby was lying on it's back & we got loads of really good photos. She went through & checked everything so it was really reassuring to be told everything looks as it should. The details you could see were amazing, knee caps, individual bones in the arm & fingers! Even had a photo of the brain looking as you'd imagine. Got to hear the heartbeat too which was brilliant and good as hubby was there to hear it too. Got so many pictures so have given 1 to each of our mums who as amazed at the detail. Totally worth the £50 for reassurance alone!
