Wow Pington! You have been lucky with your freebies! Very MSE!
Oh dear Carrot, hope you're feeling ok now, maybe it's having 2 lots of leeches taking all the good stuff from you that made you have a funny 5 minutes! (Hope no-ones offended by the term leeches it's just the way I think of the babies when we're growing them and they take all the goodness from us and leave us with the dregs to survive on!!)
As for me, I've had a difficult couple of dayshad some bleeding all day yesterday, altho only went I went to the bathroom and wiped. It was more than when I bled at 9 weeks and had an emergency scan. It was accompanied by lots of twinges and pains
I was playing with ds yesterday and went to throw him on the sofa and was doubled over in agony
really not sure what to do as I've had not had more bleeding today but more aches/pains.
And frustratingly I can't find my maternity trousers from when I had ds and my normal ones are beginning to cut into my stomach
Hope everyone's doing ok0 -
Hi all, finally today was scan day :j
All was great, baby was wriggling around a lot and it was amazing to see, the only problem was that baby didn't co-operate in laying flat on its back so the nuchal fold could be measured. Instead, baby was sitting bolt upright with its legs crossed, and then actually turned round completely and put its back to us! I think it must be a boy as its already being naughty and mischievousAfter nearly half an hour of me wriggling, jumping and bouncing around trying to get baby to shift, it was clearly just too comfortable and so we didn't get the test done. I wasn't that disappointed though because hubby and I always said that even if we did show as high risk, we wouldn't test any further as to us it doesn't matter, although the sonographer said they can screen for Down's by blood test so I'll speak to my midwife about that when I see her next week.
True to form, baby also measured one day further along again, so I've now got a due date of 7th AprilOne day earlier again and it will be due on Easter Monday! Slightly worrying now as I think I'm planning to leave work on Thurs 2nd April
I was so relieved today though after my previous worries, its overwhelming to see how much its grown in just a couple of weeks, and bizarre to see baby so active yet not feeling it! Now only 7 weeks to wait until my 20 week scan :T

Sorry to hear about your episode Carrot - I can imagine that having two little ones to grow and develop really takes it out of you. At least you were with family and looked after.
Always - big hugs to you. If you are worried you should speak to someone as soon as possible. I wouldn't leave it, especially as you also had pain. They're not going to tell you off for wasting time, you're concerned about your baby (and also your own health!) so I would definitely get checked out for the reassurance.
I'm glad scans also went well for millysg1 and Estateprincess0 -
Hope you're feeling better today Carrot. Did you speak to anyone?
Always - How are you feeling now? Any more bleeding? I'd def try to speak to someone if you can. Hope here is no more but try & ale it easy if you've been having pains.
Glad you scan was good missy, baby wasn't co-operating in my scan either but was still amazing to see how much they've grown! With my nhs board they only do Down's screening by bloods first & then offer further tests if that comes back as high risk.
As for me - I'm feeling super tired today, worked a 12 hour day yesterday & it's done me in! Watching bake off in my pjs & then I'll be off to bed. Wondering how long il'll be ok working such long shifts for, anyone else here work shifts & struggling?0 -
Evening all
Aww glad your scans went well Milly, Estate Princess and Missy
Carrot and Always Alone, bless I hope you're both feeling better now but I think you should seriously think about calling your midwives, I don't think fainting or bleeding/pain would be taken lightly at this stage so I'm sure that they'd get you checked out. Look after yourselves x
Re buying things - unfortunately I have a lot of baby things from my last pregnancy. It's mostly packed away at the mo but off the top of my head there's a travel system, cot, crib, Moses basket and stand, car seat, baby bath, a swinging seat, a bouncing seat, a play gym, sleeping bags, sheets and blankets, clothes up to one year, a bumbo seat, about 300 nappies, bottles, breast pump, perfect prep machine thing, four changing bags (a minor obsession!) etc etc. I'm sure I've forgotten stuff too but I'm thinking about going through it all at Christmas time. I know the main things I still want are a car seat base and a monitor but there's no rush at the mo. If baby's a girl I'll be buying some pink things (clothes and blankets etc) too as there's a lot of blue from memory, so I'd need to have a sort through of what I think I can and can't use.
The nursery room has a brown carpet and cream walls, with blue curtains, bunting and light shade. Even if baby is a girl I might stick with those and just add some pink accessories, but I reserve the right to change my mind if I see something else!
Pington - I have an icandy too! Which one do you have? Guessing the apple or peach for twins? I have the peach 2 in red. It's lovely, I'm looking forward to getting it out again
Oh and I must request to join the Facebook group too before you all disappear there and leave me here talking to myselfthanks for the info on that Mrs TM.
Anyways, time for bed. Night all x0 -
Always, I do hope you're feeling better soon. Definitely call your midwife and look after yourself x
Congrats to the ladies on their scans
I have the iCandy Pear. I've no idea how it compares to other types but until the twins are a bit bigger and can go in a lightweight stroller it seemed like one of the best options. And we saved a lot getting it second hand; £150 for the main contraption, car seat fixings, seats and a few other accessories. The carrycots came from Gumtree, £80 for two (one unused and still boxed). There are so few options for twins compared with singles!0 -
Tilly sorry to hear about your husband's granddadMy uncle has terminal cancer and I found it quite difficult to share happy news under the circumstances but I think they were all happy and quite grateful to have something to look forward to. I started feeling movements about a week ago.
Thank you Sulphate. So sorry to hear about your uncle thoughmy husbands grandad was in his 90s and he'd been in hospital for weeks so I guess it wasn't entirely unexpected. It's obviously sad when anyone's life comes to an end but a pregnancy in the family shows that life does carry on and there are still things to look forward to beyond the sadness. I hope your family are dealing with the situation the best they can x

Hello everyone! :hello:
Coming to join you now that I'm officially over 12 weeks (12+1)! It's nice to recognise some names from the earlier thread!
I had my scan last week where they also found a large mass (9x9x9cm). I have been referred to a consultant who I will be seeing next Tuesday. Hopefully it's nothing nasty. My GP thinks it will probably mean extra monitoring and possibly a c-section where it will be removed after the baby!!
It was a bit of a shock (it was thought it might be twins) but I have to keep thinking of the happy little wriggly baby we did see and as my mum said, if I just need extra monitoring that's no bad thing.
So, that's me!!!Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -

Hello Aunty Pickle!
Some of you may remember me mentioning this in the previous thread but I still haven't got my first Bounty pack and most people said they got theirs at their booking I appointment or 12 week scan.
Im just wondering if there is anyone else who hasn't received one?0
