Sorry about your redundancy, Bubblepops :(

Hi twin buddy Carrrot; glad to see you here :)

I've had very uncomfortable lower abdomen pain/cramps for the past two days that are really taking their toll. The midwife said it's probably just ligaments stretching and nothing to be worried about but it's so uncomfortable! T2 keeps moving about and poking out at different locations in my belly, from anywhere between by belly button to just below my knicker line. It's so weird seeing and feeling the little hard lump poking out!

bubblepops - I work 5 days a week but a day a week of my NHs job was cut. If I was a 'normal' employee, come next month (October 2014) I'd be on a 4 day week and pay. As it is my mat pay is calculated based on weeks 17-25 of employment (may and june 14 for me). Therefore I will be getting full time mat pay all the way until July 2015, accumulating full time annual leave. I am very fortunate. Is it possible this might happen for you at all? V stressful - you have my sympathy.

Pington - sympathy for the cramps. Can only assume they are worse than my singleton pg cramps! I have had them off and on all pg, lurching from thinking the pg is ending in the early days to now believing they are an early labour sign :o I miss being more sane

  • Hi lilmiss,

Thanks so much for replying. I'm not sure of much yet, but I doubt it. Think it's been rushed through to make sure they don't have to pay me anything like that.

I will bear it in mind, though. Hopefully having a chat with the union tomorrow.

Sorry you've got a similar situation; really is the worst thing, isn't it? We should be getting all excited and squealy ;)

Sorry to hear you're feeling pants pington - must be double the aches and pains for you?

  • Glad you have a union to turn to.

Yes I have been very lucky in the end and I really hope something works out for you. It was stressful even though it was only a day and therefore potentially difficult but not disasterous like the whole job going.

Judging from your scan date that is pretty darn fast? Week 17 can only be 3 weeks away? Maybe the union can advise on you 'dragging your heels', using annual leave, not leaving until your notice period is up in case you are entitled to money. It might be a weighing up beyween any redundancy money and potential SMP. Do they know you are pg then?

I like to think it means something better is awaiting you :D

  • I'm actually starting to wonder if I might have a hernia or something with my abdominal pains. Maybe the lump that keeps poking out isn't a baby after all?! I'm not really sure how to tell if it is or not!
  • Knock knock? Hello, please can I join?!

I've graduated from the first thread this week. I had my dating scan on Monday thinking I was 11+4 but baby was measuring 12+2 so I gained 5 days, yay! I blame the fact that instead of morning sickness I'm always hungry!

My 20 week scan is booked for 10th November. Looks like you guys just update your list yourselves as and when so I'll add myself when I'm on my laptop tomorrow if that's ok.

Looking forward to chatting with you all x

Hi Tilly! Nice to see you over here :)
  • Morning ladies, I wanna be in your gang pllllllease!!

Had a scan yesterday and was measuring 12+6 with a wriggly michevious little munchkin!

I recognise some names from the previous thread but will read back properly tonight after work.

    Hope everyone's feeling ok x
  • Morning ladies,

I feel miserable. I thought I was one of the lucky ones and had made it through my first trimester without morning sickness however the last few days I have felt terrible. I constantly feel sick, feel like I need to head to the bathroom, etc. It doesn't seem to matter if I am hungry or not - just constant. Thankfully I haven't been sick yet.

Gahhhh..... I wish I was at home in bed.

So glad to be back home today. Had to go into hospital for another virus night before last and only made it home late last night. The um, digestive issues were causing braxton hicks and, since I've never felt BH before, I freaked out. Anyway, baby is fine and I'm recovering quite well. Even was able to squeeze in a very quick scan! Baby has grown so much since the 12 week scan! Still don't know what we are having yet, but not too much longer to wait, next scheduled scan is 8th October. :)
