I'm guessing about 34 weeks Pington, but do ask your midwife for suggestions.

I've bumped myself, Toooldforthis and rockpaperscissors off the top of the list. Good luck to all 12-24weekers, and see you on the other side!

    I'm top! Eek!

It's interesting to see that others who are also teachers have gone on mat leave at different times. If I could choose freely I'd go on 28/11 (due 29/12) but school want me to work until 19/12. I'm just doing PPA cover this term but I feel it's going to be more stressful than having a class because I'll be all over the school, walking back and forth between two buildings several times a day. Oh well, we shall see how it goes, still got a week and a half before I get my Mat B1 so can decide whether I want to rock the boat by going earlier.

Oh no, that's rubbish. I hope you've managed to sleep by now.

Make sure you do what is best for you not what school want. I know it is difficult but they can't make you stay til the end if you decide you want to start you leave sooner. Am sure mine would have liked me to go right to my due date as I am inconveniently leaving mid way through and no replacement has yet been sorted! If you are unwell and it has an effect on you, you could see your GP/midwife about being signed off, in that situation maternity pay cannot be forced until 36 weeks, so actually the school could be making an error not allowing you to go when you wish if that happens.

Last night while lying on my back I could see and feel a definite lump in my lower abdomen, just under my knicker line. It was about the size of a lime and it has now gone/moved. Would it have been one of the babies?! I'm 14 weeks and didn't expect to see/feel them so soon!

Hey ladies just a question I have a scan Thursday as at my 12 week they couldn't do accurate measurements due to baby being awkwardly positioned. Anyways I will be either 16+5 or 16+6 by then, my question is do I need to drink as much water as I have done fore previous scans? I know you don't need to for 20 week. Also is it likely the consultant will tell us the sex? I am so desperate to know!
    Thanks x

Hey Pington I think I felt baby move last night when in bath but I am 16 weeks then again having twins would surely mean twice the movement so maybe you can feel/see earlier! X

I have had a pretty easy pg in the grand scheme of things. I am currently 34+6. Next week I will have 2 days work and 3 day the following week meaning I will properly finish for good at 37 weeks. Psychologically I disengaged a couple of weeks ago and in the late 20s I had a fortnight of exhaustion tears. FOrtunately once i started my 4 day weeks not long after this it got better.

I had thought to work full time up to 38 weeks. I was wrong. I could not be looking forward more to time off to sort out the house/sleep in the day/cook meals for the freezer.

Other women I know work up until 38 weeks without a problem. Don't forget 37 weeks is full term. I decided I would rather risk 5 weeks of boredom than finish work and give birth shortly after. Also when I was deciding three friends gave birth to their first - one 10 days before due date, one 2 weeks before due date and one who finished work on Friday and had her baby by Tuesday

PS Pington - I don't know what else could be the lump?! How exciting!
