I had my first "proper" scan today (previous scan was a private one at 11 weeks) and the twins are looking good. I'm 14+2 which means too late to do the Downs testing measurements (slightly annoyed we don't have the option for this due to it taking so long for midwife and scan appointments to come through).

One of the babies was really active on the scans; it was hiccuping and kicking and doing all kind of acrobatics. It was the one on the right that I've been feeling moving around and poking out of my belly all weekend! The other was totally chilled and not doing much at all. We can't wait for the 20 week scan to hopefully find out the sex :) All we know for now is they are non-identical.

I hope everyone else is happy and well :)

Wow so exciting about the twins!
prams - In general was allocated to my husband who picked up a secondhand Cosatto 3 in 1 jobby which i'm really happy with! It's easy to use and it is gadgety enough for him lol!

Maternity Leave - I am due on January 10th (just noticed i'm 3rd on the list, scary!) and work closes down for Christmas on the 19th December for 2 weeks and there is no way i'm going back for 5 days on the 5th January so i'm finishing work 3 weeks before due date :)

We are still team yellow and haven't caved yet lol
Oh and we have movement! from 21+3 there have been several pop's in my belly every few hours and it has increased everyday! at 22+2 every morning the first thing i notice is tummy wriggles! and pretty much 8am, noon, 9pm, midnight. I am sure it happens in the day but when I'm working i must be to distracted to feel it!

I'm now 24+2 so am off to the big group. Thanks for all the advice about mat leave, I think I'll have to have a difficult conversation with my headteacher! I think I'll ask to go a week before the end of term so I don't cause too much disruption but I still have some time before baby is born.

Good luck and see you ladies on the next group!
  • See you soon Alice :hello: can't believe I'm third now, I'll be joining you in three weeks.

Evening all hope you ladies are well

scmp that's so exciting! Apparently you feel more in the evening because baby is waking up just as you're going to sleep - typical!
Pington glad your scan went well but annoying about the Downs syndrome testing... I'm sure you've mentioned it before but can they not do the quad testing? Can't find that post now!

Had my 16w appointment yesterday (although I'm 18w) and we managed to listen to heartbeat :) Scan in less than a fortnight now, can't believe I will then be half way through! I'm in maternity trousers and jeans now, but think I mostly just look fat lol. My stomach area seems to ache almost constantly so I'm taking that as a good sign it is growing.

Regarding mat leave, don't have to think about it just yet but am planning on working til 38+1, I am convinced the baby will be late and the thought of being at home bored for 5 weeks is too much!! A friend of mine just started mat leave with 8 days to go til her due date though so maybe I am not totally insane!
  • Howdy, wondered if I could join?

    I'm 13 weeks tomorrow (well, in 15 minutes!) :D

Due date is 21st march 2015, and our 20 week scan is 3rd November.

Is that all you need to know? I will try and read back a bit, but I've just read the entire big thread, wondering why everyone is so much further on than me-took me over 100 pages to work it out!! :rotfl:

Anyway, *waves and runs back to being shy*

    Hi to you lozzzie!

Sulphate, it seems they can't do the quad testing with twins. x

I am up with heartburn! Won't be eating peanut m&m's again! Last night it was pins and needles in hand and leg cramps! Oof pregnancy is harder second time round!

Had my scan and quads Thursday and baby was once again awkward! 3 different head measurements so consult and made a best guess and said my dates were right but could be 2/3 days out! Also meant once again no scan pic so I am 17 + 1 with no pic my 6 year old is not happy!
20 week scan on October 6th and baby better behave because I need to know pink or blue! May have to look into private gender scans if not!
Hi lozzie everyone's friendly here! No need to hide! X
