Mrs_T_M – Glad you’re feeling much better. Your travel system sounds like a complete bargain! Are you pleased with it?

Thanks for updating the list! Feels weird to see myself moving up the list so quickly!

So far, I love the travel system! It's easy to push and manoeuvre, plus the buggy folds 'flat' for the most part. I'm planning on wearing baby in a wrap as much as I can, but I know that there will be times that I'll need a break! We also needed a car seat that could fit in all cars fairly easily and that didn't need an adapter.

Also, 18 week bump shot from overhead! I was actually dressed yesterday, so I figured I'd take a photo! What you can't see in this photo is that I'm still wearing my tatty teddy slippers. :rotfl:

That's a good bump shot! I took one this morning too but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to share it.

I had a midwife appointment today; all is well with my blood results etc. She pointed out something from the scan that I'd not been told about; T1 has an anterior placenta whereas T2 has a posterior placenta. I guess this explains why T2 is always poking out in lumps all over the right habd side of my stomach whereas I've not felt T1 at all yet.

It's all pretty amazing isn't it?! I'll be most amazed at my stomach's capacity to s-t-r-e-t-c-h enough to fit two babies. Not to mention actually giving birth...

Yes I have found growing one miraculous. To grow two and cleverly to have the placentas on opposite sides. Well my hat is off to you lady.

Suppose the stretching is one reason why you are full term earlier!

I know nothing about twins but I think I heard giving birth to the first (if you go via the push route rather than the c section route) is like any other birth, so therefore your body has no worries apparently with the second coming out in terms of pain as you should have enough 'space' iykwim! You'll be skin to skin with number 1 I imagine and by all account the euphoria/oxytocin of number sustains you while number 2 makes their entrance. However I am making this all up based on the birthing info for one!

  • Hi all you lovely ladies :hello: I just thought I'd pop in and say hi as I officially hit the 12 week mark today! It's great looking at your list and seeing familiar names from the TTC and the less than 12 weeks threads :) I'll be tentatively flitting between the two threads for the next week until I have my nuchal scan on Weds next week.

Carrot - I just wanted to post as I read that you are now unfortunately suffering sickness but didn't at all in your first trimester. How far along are you now? I have been so lucky and have not had any sickness or even nausea, so I'm really hoping it doesn't start later on!

Mrs_T_M - Great bump pic... 18 weeks, wow! I know you pop back to the <12weeks thread regularly, but I can't believe its been 6 weeks since you graduated officially! When did you get your proper baby bump? I can't wait for mine, I'm fed up of just looking podgy :o
  • Hello all. Got back from holiday at the weekend and felt nice and refreshed but work has been manic so tired again now! Still feel better than before though and the break was much needed. Seemed to be a perfect time in pregnancy to go too as I had no problems, just a bit of backache and the usual stretching pains! I'm 20 weeks today and have started feeling what I think is baby moving in the last week or so, just the odd taps and bubbles so far but still exciting! Got my scan tomorrow and will be staying team yellow if anyone wants to update me on the list when it's next done? too difficult on my phone sorry. If all is well at the scan we're going to look at prams after, the uppababy vista is our current favourite but open to looking at others tomorrow! Just hoping I sleep ok tonight, will be nervous about the scan-eek!

Glad to see its all good news on the thread at the mo, the twin stuff is fascinating pington!

18 weeks and 1 day today! Doesn't seem that I should be that far along already! EEP!

I was still 'stretched' from Dale, so I had a lower baby bump at around 12 weeks, but I just looked fat. :rotfl:

Now I definitely look pregnant. :)

  • Hello :j

I'm dipping my toe in from the less than 12 week board as I'm 12 weeks today, just seen my date twin missy moo has also ventured over !

So lovely to see so many from the less than 12 week board over here, can't believe I'm here already, nearly 1/3 of the way through!

I had my 12 week scan yesterday & all seemed fine, I'm got a high BMI, partially due to PCOS, connived with clomid, partially due to cake....So I've been booked into a BMI clinic and have to have a GTT in a few weeks. Starting to feel uncomfy in my clothes & so very bloated if I eat too much, too much these days being half a normal meal!

Looking forward to getting to know you all!
  • Evening all,

I've known since 5 weeks that mine were seperate sacs and confirmed at 12week scan that they have seperate placentas etc. So definitely 2 seperate beings with independent personalities growing in there.

missymoo - my ms started last week but has stopped again now (14weeks) so I am still counting myself as very fortunate.

    Welcome newbies.
