So are certain people pre-disposed to getting a B bump then? Those of you mentioned it spoke about weight - are you more likely to have one if you are of a certain size? I can't believe I've never heard of these different bumps people can get
I'm fat (and I'm ok with it because I'm still healthier than most people I know!), so I sometimes have a B belly even without being pregnant. Being pregnant pushes my intestines and 'guts' upwards, and, well, there isn't much space up there due to my size, so, they poke out. I'm not worried about it so long as baby is healthy.
*said baby is currently squirming and kicking away to complain about mummy washing up so late tonight! :rotfl:

Thanks for the explanations Mrs_T_M. Its the little things like that that make me realise I don't have a clue about so many aspects of pregnancy!
But then I suppose every new mum has that, and a lot of things you learn as you go.
One of my things I keep worrying about is the feelings and twinges I have. I don't have a clue what is normal, but it seems like the general guide is that unless it is unbearable or is coupled with bleeding then its normal! I think I've just been worrying myself as I've been lifting at work without thinking about it, and then I feel a little twinge or this strange pressure for a few minutes on my right, its almost as if baby is saying 'You shouldn't be doing that Mum!' I'm sure its fine, but I just want to fast forward time to my scan on Wednesday so I can see that its fine for myself. My OH said I should speak to my midwife or a doctor if I'm worried, but I've had no pain, no bleeding and no other real cause for concern, I'm just worrying myself! But then I'm beginning to understand that pregnancy is just the start of the worrying... we'll be worrying about our little ones until they're adults and beyond!
Well enough doom and gloom for me, its the weekend so lets be happy for that! And as we know, the weekends always go too fast so my scan will be here before I know itHave a lovely one everyone x

Hi everyone, its been non-stop here! Had my scan on Thursday and it was great - everything looked fine although baby wasnt very active - think s/he is very lazy and shy. Baby had arms up in front of its face like it was hiding and legs firmly closed so not sure we could have found out gender if we'd wanted to! Anyway, baby is very happy, spot on for measurements and after a lot of poking and prodding and re-positioning the sonographer saw all the organs and heart chambers etc and all was a-ok! Was such a relief! I have anterior placenta which explains why I've not really felt much of baby moving yet but the taps and bubbles I have felt are in the right place so its definaitely baby! We went straight from there to a baby shop and got some really useful help on prams and car seats - it was a small(ish) independent place and no other customers were in so we had about 3 hours undivided attention from the owner - he was lovely and agreed that the vista was a good choice. We looked at the icandys too but I wasn't keen. He's going to do us a package deal on the vista and be safe infant carrier with isofix base so that's our number one choice at the mo! I was absolutely knackered after so had to have a lie down while hubby cooked dinner and then yesterday at work turned into about a 14 hour day so I only got to bed after 1am, yawn! I'm taking it easy this morning then I have loads of cleaning to do and then out for a birthday gathering this evening.
Missymoo - I know exactly what you mean about the twinges, I feel the same but I have them almost everyday and all was well at the scan - I think its stretching combined with twisting funny, or being on your feet too long etc, just a reminder to take it easy maybe!?
I can't believe I'm second on the list - think time is going to fly between now and xmas!0 -
Well, looking at your pics I guess I have a bump now too, although I swear it's just cake! I'll have to take a picture at some point…
Glad to hear about your scan Nicky Noo Na, I have an anterior placenta as well so haven't felt a great deal, I feel it occasionally if I am lying down. Apparently baby wakes up when you start putting your feet up which explains a lot!
We are going shopping tomorrow, I am mega excited :j0 -
Enjoy your shopping trip sulphate! Just so you know there is a new vista due out in the new year, too late for a feb baby and more expensive so we're happily going with the current one but just so you have all the info! We bought our first few bits today, a sleeping bag, some bibs and muslins. ASDA had a pretty good gender neutral baby range, got stuff in silver and white, so cute!0

Sainsburys also have some lovely cream outfits too so it might be worth a look there for some more neutral clothes0

Sainsburys also have 25% off clothes until monday I think.0

Well I defo had one last time and look like I will this time too  I'm not *huge*, (size 14) but have never had a flat belly, it's always been a 'B' and babies don't seem to round it outi wore over the bump trousers last tine which 'rounded' it out but I knew the truth! However, I did have a small baby last time so if I grow this one bigger, maybe, it'll push the 'B' out into a 'D'?! Here's hoping!! :rotfl:

Always_Alone - whilst that sounds like a great plan to grow a bigger baby to get a nice D bump, just remember that there will be a time when you have to actually give birth to that huge baby!!
:p:p And now the B bump doesn't seem so bad after all
Hope all goes well at your appointment tomorrow Mrs_T_M, let us know how you get on.
Is it really Monday tomorrow already?! I'm sure there is a phenomenon that actually makes the days of the week go slower than those at the weekend0
