Morning All,
Im tentatively moving over from the first forum as im now unofficially 12+1 weeks but I have my scan tomorrow where I will confirm my dates. I wont be surprised though if my dates are off and im further along but we shall see.
Ive been reading this board for the last week or so and its great to see so many people I recognize. Glad to hear things are going ok for you all.
Very interested to hear what people's worries are on this thread, e.g finding out gender, B or D bump (never heard of that before), what to buy etc.0 -
Morning all
It's nice to see some more ladies from the first thread over here *waves at Missy Moo, Princess Kate and Milly!*
I'm having a chilled out day at home today after a hectic weekend, my husbands grandad passed away last week so we travelled half way across the country for his funeral at the weekendwe only went to see him the weekend before so it felt a bit surreal to go to his funeral the following weekend. More of the family know about my pregnancy now though so I suppose it's nice to have some good news too.
I had to break out the maternity jeans for the travelling though as I couldn't sit comfortably in the car for hours with my waist band digging in - elasticated waist bands are a god send! I don't think I have a bump yet but I can feel where my tummy's getting firmer and I think I'm losing my waist a bit
After having scans for the last three Mondays it feels weird not to have one today - how do I know everything's ok in there?! Sometimes I think I feel some movement but it's so light and fleeting I can't be sure. I'll be glad when baby gets stronger and I can be sure he/she's wriggling around. Next consultant scan is two weeks today when I'll be 16 weeks. When did/does everyone start feeling movement?
Also is anyone else getting too hot? I'm struggling after showers, particularly on the days when I wash, dry and straighten my hair (every other day), with getting too hot and feeling really weird with it! Might be cold showers for me from now on! Thank goodness we're heading towards winter not summer!
Anyways, enough waffling from me! Hope you're all feeling well and this weeks scans go well! X0 -
Hi,
Hope everyone is doing ok? Sorry there's no personal's-I caught up and had loads of things to comment on, hit reply and promptly forgot them all! :rotfl:
Sorry, not posted much, as my head's been rather wedged up my posterior with the whole redundancy shebang, and has taken the shine off the pregnancy a bit.
But, final meeting about it tomorrow, have accepted that I going, and finances have thankfully allowed me to stay at home until baby arrives (good job really-every room needs some kind of DIY!), and maybe look at taking the plunge and setting up my own business!!
Bought a lovely Moses basket yesterday, and my mom and dad are buying us a crib, getting excited now!
Oh, and I felt some sort of weird fizzing/bubbling feeling, and apparently that can be baby jumping around! I had a Doppler done by the GP after a scare last week, and the little monkey kept dodging it, and she said they are obviously very active, so it could be, I suppose. Was really surprised as I'm only 15 weeks, but it had me grinning like a loon for the rest of the day!!

Hi Bubblepops! I'm glad it's not just me too! Let's just think if the cheaper heating bills this winter, very MSE
Sorry to hear about your redundancy, but looking on the bright side how lovely to be able to stay home til after baby arrives getting your home ready
I have the opposite situation in that a promotion has been advertised at my work that I'm going to apply for (some of the other ladies will probably remember me waffling on about it a few weeks ago) so I need to get my brain in gear for that!
I'd guess that is baby you can feel, how exciting! X0 -

Oh, im so glad you are applying. I do remember you talking about it before as it resonated with a similar position that im in.
good Luck!0 -
Thanks Milly
I was talking to my husband about it over the weekend and he said to me you would apply if you weren't pregnant so you shouldn't let that put you off, so I've decided to go for it! It's advertised externally too so I could be up against some tough competition, but at least they know me and they can't hold my pregnancy against me so we'll see what happens!
What have you decided to do about your job? X0 -
And also, if you get through to interview stage, it is always good to practice your interviewing skills even if you don't get the job.
I STILL hasn't been advertised yet. I keep getting told they will advertise it imminently but they have been saying that for last 2 months. But I do know that it is all ready with HR to start advertising a long with 7 other jobs they need to advertise.
I still haven't decided what I will do. Now that I have my scan tomorrow I will be telling work at some point over the next few weeks, not decided exactly when yet.
My main issue is even if I wasn't pregnant Im not sure I would apply. The longer its taken to get the job advertised the more problems/cons I think of for moving jobs. to start with I thought it would be great but now im thinking more and more that maybe it wont be!0 -
Haha, I know, Tilly, let alone watching everyone else shivering whilst we're toasty :rotfl:
Thank you - I'm focusing on getting our [STRIKE]hovel[/STRIKE] house ready for the new arrival. I'm currently f@rting around at work making decorating to do lists for each room -some span 3 pages!!!
Wow-good luck on the promotion, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Bit of extra money with a wee one on the way won't go amiss!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do with your job too, Milly. Ooh- scan tomorrow?! Good luck!!
