Angeltreats it's amazing how different areas operate. You would think that it would be standardised across the country considering it's the National Health Service. Ah well will keep on eating what I am but I@m having lots of fruit and choosing healthy when I can/want.

BBQ wasn't too bad and luckily got the chicken that was fully cooked whereas hubby got a half cooked drumstick . Great catching up with friends but am shattered now. Also found out that one of our friends is pregnant with her second and she's about 6.5-7 weeks gone, really happy for her as she had a mc earlier in the year so very happy that she's pg again.

Had someone pull their face at the name we've chosen saying it was really popular right now but we don't care as everyone else really liked it and so do we.

We've chosen Arya Rose for the name, yes Arya is from Game of Thrones but I'm sure the hype will have died down by the time she's at school, and Rose after Beauty and the Beast, as we used them as our cake topper and I have the rose tattooed on my shoulder. I know I said that I didn't want an A or B name due to our surname but I always secretly liked Arya but don't tell hubby :rotfl:.

Stopped at the shops on the way home and now have vaseline and vapor rub to try out tonight, hopefully I'll be able to sleep.

Eek lilmiss not long until you move up to the big girls thread.

Hope everyone else has a cooler and hayfever free night xx

Oooh, I was at a BBQ and when the chicken was taken off it was still a bit pink. DH asked for my opinion and I started gagging so it got more cooking! That was back in April now I think.

If the other options don't work I am now swearing by elderflower! It's not just for drinking...

I know what you mean. We like Jack as our favourite and lots of people know one and it's apparently number 1, though have liked it forever! I think Arya Rose is lovely :D

Thanks :D it just annoyed me that he thought he could have an opinion especially as they've called their son Isaac which is obviously not common at all :rotfl:. I like Jack and it would've have been on my list for boys too. Why do people think that they should have an opinion on everything you do as a pregnant woman?

So usual trick for me 3am woke up blocked and sneezing at 4am decided to come into the lounge room, used hubbies nasal spray as I was desperate (didn't work) and was just drifting off to sleep when next door deciding to all start shouting and laughing !!!!!!. Went back to bed and hubby had taken over the bed so managed to shift him but then got more blocked up so back on the couch now. Hoping to drift off again but the neighbours are being d!cks so I doubt it. Definitely going to be buying the prevalin spray today to see if that works and if it doesn't then I'm going to the doctors as I can't carry on like this for the next few months.

Alioops have you tried loratadine? I can't remember if you are already taking it or not. You don't need a prescription. I'm pretty sure the doctor won't give you anything stronger than loratadine when pregnant :(

Good morning ladies. I've gad an awful night. The most vivid dreams that my puppy got out and was lost, I was searching for days and couldn't find him. I woke up feeling weak and shakey like all the crying in my sleep had been real. Really really awful.
Apparently vivid dreams in pregnancy are very common but most expectant mums dream they can't find the baby.....does this mean I'm more bothered about the dog??? :rotfl:

Were off to the beach today. I've a lovely M&S picnic to pack up and take with us.

Hope you all have a lovely day x
  • Feeling for you all suffering from allergies / colds.

I have a chest infection, which is fun! I have asthma so it's not unusual for me to get bad coughs, but this one is slightly different in that if I lie down it restricts my airways and means I cough even more. Have spent the last two nights propped up on four pillows trying, but mainly failing, to sleep.

Obviously haven't taken anything for it, but not sure whether to up my inhalers or not. Not sure what pumping more steroids into my body will do to baby.

runmichellerun I am also asthmatic and was told that asthma often gets worse in pregnancy, and if necessary I should up my dose of preventative inhaler. Your chest infection sounds horrible, poor you :( maybe you need antibiotics?
  • Runmichelle- I agree with Daisie. Get yourself to your doctor and see if you need any antibiotics and get their advice re. your inhalers- maybe there are better ones for pregnancy or maybe it doesn't matter how much you use them- some things cross the placenta and others don't. In your position my thoughts would be if struggling to breathe it would surely be better for both me and baby to use the inhalers and be properly oxygenated rather than struggle. Take care of yourself, sounds like you're having a rough time. Xx

alioops78 - I think the name sounds lovely. Never understood why others feel it's ok to say 'I don't like that' when it comes to names. Er, nothing to do with you pal, move on! Yes, of course we have all never heard of the name Isaak :rotfl:

I would just smile and say something like 'oh well, good thing it's not your child then' with a cheeky sparkle in my eye ;-)

Sorry to hear of the bad dreams and hay fever/asthma occurrences. Hope all settles down for you all.

Was at hosp on Friday and the midwife listened to the heartbeat, around the 140 mark she says... talk about not giving anything away! She was very nice but basically said all the flutters and what I thought was movement was probably my digestive system :o especially when I said where I had felt it - left hand side all the time. Haven't really felt anything since but I guess in a way if it was my digestive system then now not really feeling anything I can blame on digestive system and not conceive all manner of worrying thoughts...as you do! Not sure that last sentence makes sense but made sense in my mind..:rotfl:

Oh meant to say for the list (DO YOUR PELVIC EXERCISES) ;-) my '20' week scan is 2nd July... just around the corner. Looking forward to knowing pink or blue... if I'm being super honest we both fancy a blue but actually, in all honesty, a healthy happy normal in every way baby, pink or blue, we'll be incredibly grateful for :D hubby says he's excited about buying or making toys (big kid) and whatever he makes or buys won't change if the wee one is a pink or blue ...so there you go.

Hope everyone has a good week next week x

oh edit: sorry meant to say the midwife found + protein in urine... said I have to phone back today to see if there is a infection :-( I have been drinking lots of water over the last few days so really hoping to not get a UTI... so painful :-( anyone else had + protein in sample? Blood pressure and temp was ok.

Thanks Daisiegg but I'm already taking them :-(. I think I'm going to try the nasal spray that firey suggested as I really can't continue like this. I came to bed at 8.30am when hubby got up so have had a couple more hours sleep but I'm not going to be able to do that during the week.

Thanks view, it's reassuring that he's just an eejit with no clue :rotfl:.

RMR get yourself to the doctors and get it checked out, there's no point in suffering if you can take something.

Monty a day at the beach sounds lovely. I've had a couple of vivid dreams recently but I'm sure yours doesn't mean that at all. I once dreamt that I left my baby in a Bargain Booze shop, walked out with my alcohol and left the baby at the counter, I'm not even a massive drinker :rotfl:

Have a great day ladies xx
