Arrrghhh workmen are tarmacing road today been working on it 3wks which hasnt helped with my needing to nap in the day but the tarmac lorry driver has a big gob n keeps shouting n has been singing loudly n badly all day n thinks he can sing the one cornetto advert -idiot!!

Going to try n get out in a no need to walk up rd to pub n retrieve my car then going to waste an hr in shops before getting my little one from childcare.
  • I am another on loratidine. TBH it often doesn't seem to matter if i take it or not - it is so bad.

DH gone off on stag do tonight so got a lovely quiet weekend to myself. Off to see one of my best friends and her two children tomorrow so will be a long car journey but should be nice. Then a day of [STRIKE]lying around eating[/STRIKE] nesting on Sunday. He then goes straight to join his parents in wales before I join on Wednesday night. Feeling v relaxed as just got three days at work next week and sent of mat leave request (had worked it out right!) and get to carry over minimum of 9 days unless him indoors is early whereby mat leave starts earlier and the leave is carried over so very pleased.

Getting incrasing comments on bump now. Fortunately no-one foolish enough to try to touch me recently...

Might go look for the list. Think it might be time for my brief spell at the top!

    So self indulgent.

Wendz wasn't sure if it would be more insenstive to leave you on or take you off. Hope I made the right decision and apologies if not.

Ok sorry to sound thick. Is pelvic floor just squeezing 'down there' like if you desperately holding in a wee? Lol

Basically yes, but try to squeeze right from back to front, and pull 'up'. Hold for a second or so each time to improve overall strength. Then do a few quick ones (which help with stress incontinence, like sneezing or coughing)

Not a thick question - I was asking the hydrotherapy physio about this on only Tuesday.

My recall is that there are 3 - one is more like it is in your bottom (other mums have told me you push from farther back than you expect), one is the stopping a wee one and there is also a more subtle one further forward. I had to practise squeeing on a hard chair to find it (her advice)! She said you should be squezing for longer times for the slow twitch muscles and quick squeezees for fast twitch muscles. I think she said the idea is that the pushing bit of labour will be easier/faster if your pelvic floor is honed but there are no guarantees.

Previous mums/others - is this right?

Forgot to say it is also meant to be easier if you are sitting or lying at first.

Realised I haven't added myself to this list. I hope I haven't messed it up.

Did people find they continued having cramps in the second trimester? Thought they might go away but been quite achey and sore the last few days (14 weeks)

Hope everyone has some nice plans for the weekend,
