the scan was great but to be honest I couldn't see that much because the screen was mostly pointed away from me.
I couldn't go public at work today, my boss had selfishlytaken a days leave, so I will have to wait till Friday as I'm in London on a course tomorrow.

Hi everyone!
It's lovely to see some fresh faces here too!
I just wondered if any of you are going to midwife led maternity hospitals? The hospital closest to me is mid wife led & it's my preference at the mo.0 -

Hi credit crunch I'm lurking from the big thread! I'm booked into the local midwife led unit.
I had to have a risk assessment at 36 weeks, which once passed as low risk (check babies position, your blood pressure, urine sample etc...) I am allowed to go there between 37 weeks and up to 2 weeks overdue.
We had to sign to say we understand in what circumstances we would be transferred to another hospital delivery suite (breech, meconium in waters etc...) and I've a check list of who to call depending on how labour starts/progresses. They can give g&a, pethadine and codeine for pain relief, and they've got birthing pools.
They class it as a home birth really, and the unit is lovely and relaxed.
Fingers crossed bubs doesn't need inducing and I get the pool birth.
One of the big positives for us is that there is no post birth ward, you have your own room and consequently oh will not be sent home.Mini me due March 2014

I doubt I would be allowed to be midwife led as I'm under the consultant now
I have cured diabetes so I have to see the specialist and start testing my sugar levels from 16 weeks

Thanks for the replies. I liked the relaxed atmosphere at the midwife led unit & the fact that OH can stay really helps. Fingers crossed it works out for me.0

I'll be hopefully going to a Midwife led unit but I'm lucky in that it's inside the hospital so if any issues occur you just get wheeled into the lift and down a corridor!
My friend went to a unit that was a 30 min ambulance ride from the hospital but I wouldn't be brave enough for that.
I guess it all depends how you feel. It didn't bother my friend at all.0 -
Lemon Tree and lollypopswater congrats for the scans.
teabag29 Enjoy your scan tomorrow, you must be so excited!
OMG I didn't realise that hubby might not be able to stay overnight in the hospital. That terrifies me, we've never spend a night apart and that is the worst time to start! Does anyone know if this is policy as RBH?
I went back to my Slimming World group last night. I had been off since my BFP due to morning sickness and I was a little horrified to have put on 5lbs. I have been at target for around 18 months so a big gain was a shock to the system. I need to get in my head that I am allowed to gain weight now! Is 5lbs a lot for 12 weeks? I have no idea what the guidelines are for weight gain?0 -

I have the babycentre app and today (I am 15+1) its says I have probably gained more than 2kg in weight, which is about 4.5 pounds, so I would not worry
I have just found the below where you can see your expected weight gain by weeks based on your BMI
