I am desperate to know but my OH already has an 11yr old boy and soon to be 9yr old girl and he didn't know with either of them but I am hoping for a boy so would like to be prepared if its a girl
Glad to know I'm not alone!! Think we've made progress this weekend though as he finally told his kids and he said to them about probably finding out so that it's fun for them too to know what we're expecting
I hope you get to know too!!0 -
When are you having your gender scan jen? Sounds like an amazing bargain
I'm really looking forward to finding out too - just hope baby doesn't keep its legs crossed! Seems like ages away though.
Had a 2 hour nap yesterday, it was wonderful. Only disturbed by DH waking me up to ask where the onions were. It wasn't until much later yesterday that I realised the answer should have been 'in the supermarket' as we'd talked about buying some but not actually managed to put them into the trolley. I then had a really odd dream last night about going to Portugal, where I'd forgotten to take an onion and was getting quite worried about where to find one. I blame DH
I've had the conference schedule through for next week's trip and it goes:
Day 1: 12 hours travelling there.
Day 2: 9am start, talks and two walking tours taking 4 hours total, finish 7.30 with port (aargh can't even drink it - well maybe a little bit).
Day 3: 9am-7pm
Day 4: 9am - 7pm followed by social dinner
Day 5: About 14 hours travelling home
I am going to be soooo shattered unless the tiredness lifts a bit - either that or I'll be snoring my way through everyone's presentations. Just so long as I'm not asleep during my presentation slot...
I finally got around to reading my notes from the scan on Friday and it says my placenta is at the front, boo. Was hoping I'd start feeling some wriggles in the next couple of weeks, but I think that's going to take longer before I notice anything, unless the placenta decides to shift out of the way.0 -

I have not booked it yet, but was thinking beginning of next month. I do hope they have some appointments, never bought anything from Groupon before and I have heard they sometimes over-sell.
I had already booked one in 3D for 5th March which costs £85, but when I saw the one on Groupon I thought it was a no brainer!! I will keep my 3D booking until I get an appointment with the Groupon one.
Funnily before my 12 week scan I never dreamt I was pg, but since the scan I am having lots of different dreams all when I am heavily pg lol0 -
Hey, How is everyone?
Glad everything is ok Mes I.
Bye Robots hopefully we will all be joining you soon. Good luck with everything.
Credit crunch I don't take frolic acid anymore. To be fair for a few weeks I couldn't take it anyway due to sickness.
I was wondering is everyone buying everything new? We were looking at nursery furniture and it's so expensive so we having been looking on eBay and just plan to buy a new mattress for the cot. My parents have already said they will buy a pram for us so that's brilliant as there so expensive.
I've got a few maternity clothes now and can't do up and of my trousers and a few of the tops are to short as they rise. I think I look huge for 17 + 4.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
Hi Disney,
I think I will be buying almost everything new, although my sisters daughter will be 1 just before my due date so she has started saving me clothes etc. for if I have a girl. I already have the co-ordinating nursery interior but think I may have changed my mind already! It is from Mamas and Papas and their website says they have a 365 day return so may take it back yet...
I want a Quinny Moodd pram which is quite expensive when you add the carrycot and footmuff etc. I am not sure I can justify £800-900 on a pushchairOur parents are giving us some money but are yet to say how much, so may have to see how generous they are lol
I do think nursery furniture is really expensive for a couple of years use. I am not adverse to used either tbh, with a new mattress of course. Or I was thinking of just buying regular wardrobes and drawers that they could use for years to come and just buy a cot bed....
I have picked just about everything already online haha but I am struggling with the nursery furniture.0 -
Any Name, Bluebell and Disney - thank you for your kind words after Friday's episode!
The bleeding did settle down and stop pretty much completely, until yesterday afternoon. I was pottering doing odd jobs around the house and out of no-where started bleeding far heavier than I have before, including some clots - bleeding enough to fill a couple of pads within less than an hour. After trying to ring a community midwife or any of the numbers I had (to no answer), I took myself up to the hospital and to the EPAC. After bursting into tears at Reception, the lovely receptionist whisked me straight to a treatment room where I was scanned straight away by a consultant (baby was fine, no sign of a haematoma, but the placenta had moved and was covering my cervix, which they think is the cause). They also checked my cervix, a rather messy job, but it was closed - but because of the sheer volume of blood I was losing, the doctor said he'd admit me to the ward and be put on IV fluids until the bleeding settled.
So after a night on the maternity ward where I was very well looked after, the bleeding has finally eased off and is much improved from yesterday. Baby is kicking away quite happily, so they've discharged me on the orders to go home and rest until it eases off completely. What a drama!
How is everyone else doing?

Oh goodness Miss_I you really are having a time of it, aren't you? I'm so glad they took good care of you and that everything is ok with your baby. I hope the bleeding stops for you now as it must be do stressful. Big hugs.

Goodness sounds similar to me in terms of being kept in but you definitely had more bleeding. At least it seems like theyve found an explanation! I think if you have the placenta low down, it often moves up throughout the pregnancy and they will probably give you more scans as you come up to delivery to see what its doing.
Jen I felt the baby at around 17 weeks, and big movements at around 20. Nursery furniture can last a lot longer than a couple of years. If you buy a cot that is a cot bed, that will last for years until your child goes into a big single bed. And obviously a wardrobe can be used for as long as you like. But you could just buy normal ones of course. Ours is a nursery set but the size of the wardrobe is no different to a normal one.0 -

I can't feel the baby kicking yet, but I've been told now I'm 15 weeks I might start feeling flutterings. We knew baby was kicking as it was shown on the scan and we heard it kicking when I had the doppler done this morning. Cannot wait to feel it moving and kicking for myself, I think I'll relax a bit then!
