So pleased to hear everything's OK Mrs_I, what a scary time for you! I hope the placenta moves around quickly for you and things settle down x
Jen, with DS I seem to remember that I felt fluttering movements from 15 weeks.
Disney, with DS we got everything second hand, even daring to risk the second hand mattress in the cot (all fine)Clothes from ebay bundles, used other furniture we already had, bought a travel system from ebay for £40. That was random as the sellers were quite literally just around the corner! Very convenient. Anyway that was new but they'd changed their minds.
There is a baby shop for second hand stuff close by, which was where we got the cot and a few other bits, and we got some from car boots too. Number 2 is going to get as much of DS's stuff as possible, even if it's a girl she won't care what colour the bedding is for a couple of years at least!
With DS though I'd just started a new job and DH had to quit his job so we could move, so I was the sole earner (and still am really). We couldn't afford to get things new, so didn't have an option. But if we had unlimited funds, I'd still buy second hand because anything new gets thrown up on, fed to the cat, licked, etc etc within minutes. At least with second hand I don't really care if he wrecks it.
Actually the only expensive thing we bought - new - were the washable nappies, which have paid for themselves already compared to the cost of disposables! Oh, and a new washer/dryer so we could keep up with all the laundry, but that was my birthday present so doesn't really count.0 -
Hi ladies
Just got back from my 15 weeks check up with the midwife who confirmed she thinks I have hypermesis (but not much they can do I just have to stay hydrated and it will get better i'm assured). I am managing to hold down some food and fluids now and I have only lost 2lbs since my scan 2 weeks ago (so in total i've lost just over a stone since my booking in appointmentt 6 weeks ago) which is a much better, hopefully I will start putting some on now.
My downs test came back as very low risk, im not immune to rubella so need another MMR and as I already knew im Rhesus Negative (group A negative). My platelet count is a little low and they said they need to keep an eye on it....i'm not really sure what that even is, something to do with clotting I think.
Got to hear babys heartbeat and it was wonderful to hear, good strong heartbeat. I now have my private gender scan to look forward to in 12 days and a break from the health professionals for a while until the appointments start flooding in when I hit 26 weeks (I'm high risk and consultant lead due to this being my 5th c-section).
That's my news for the month, hope everyone is doing well
15 weeks tomorrow0 -
Hi ladies,
Hoping I can join you please, I have been reading for a while. I am currently 16+4 and all is well at the moment. My Downs test came back as low which I'm pleased about.
I am wondering if any of you have experienced a rash. It has started on my arms and shoulders and now is across my tummy and starting on my legs. It is really red and raised and itchy. I have never suffered from eczema or other skin complaints. Noting seems to be able to soothe it. Sudocreme, savlon, moisturisers or baby lotion. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow for my 16 week check-up so will ask then. I'm just curious to know if I'm the only one suffering?
Hope your all well.No purchasing unnecessary toiletries

I hope you feel better soon teabag. Did the mw say if it gets better as you get further along?
I have not experienced a rash Gemguin but my thighs did get itchy for a few weeks for no apparent reason...
I got may downs test result in the post yesterday, it is low risk with 1 in 31000 chance.
I have booked my bargain Groupon gender scan for 5th March
My tiredness is starting to take its toll! The iron tablets do not seem to be doing anything.
I am falling asleep at 8.30ish pm and then awake all night anything from 1am to 3am! I have tried staying awake longer but I wake up at the same times anyway.I have only slept all through the night twice since Xmas/ New Year. My work is being affected as well as just my life in general.
I have an appointment with a Thalassemia consultant on the 26th so I will see what he says.
And to think I though I was doing well not having any ms or nausea.

Aww Jen that sounds horrible. Hope they are able to help.
Hello Gemguin!
My downs results came today, 1 in 4 thousand and something, so low risk. I also got called into the doctors for a prescription for antibiotics as they found a urine infection. I have taken two doses but they made me feel really nauseous, so I've stopped taking them. I certainly don't feel like I have a urine infection, so will just see if anything shows up at my next midwife appointment in a couple of weeks.0 -

Scotsbride, cmace, that's what it felt like with DS so I'd say yes, it sounds like baby wriggles to me0

Hey ladies.
I am another one going down the second hand route I think.
The buggy I currently have my heart set on is £300 new..... so might have to get a 2nd hand one.
We have been given £1000 by my Dad for baby but if I get all the travel system to go with the buggy I will be looking at spending £500 of that.....
Got a bouncer chair for £5 off Facebook group and a rocking horse for a 1-2 year old off it for £5 too so thats my first bargains!
My best friend had a baby last August so she will be able to give us a load of stuff luckily, once we have had scan in 2 weeks we should know if we can have most of her clothes as she had a little girl or if we can just have the basic gender neutral stuff!

Hi ladies
Please can I join you from the Less than 12 weeks thread? I had my 12 week scan today and everything was OK so I am finally starting to relax and enjoy things now after having spotting on and off since 8 weeks.
My EDD is 28/09/2014 so I am 12+1 today. Can't wait to tell everyone!0
