Loveactually- i told my manager at 7 weeks (they knew I was on IVF waiting list so thought best to tell them as throughout the first trimester I was a freaking out waste of space!). I think it depends on your job as to when you 'formally' tell them. My job is very physical so as a high risk pregnancy I wanted to tell them asap as I wasn't happy at the idea of lifting 30kg solo! Also as I had a few appointments i wanted the paid time off and had two days of preg related sickness that I didn't want going towards my sickness record. :) Like freebie said the legal requirement is 25 weeks- here's a link https://www.gov.uk/working-when-pregnant-your-rights .

I use this body oil when i've finished in the shower and am still wet as I hate rubbing cream in- haven't got the patience! http://www.boots.com/en/Nivea-Q10-Plus-Firming-Body-Oil-200ml_1249957/ it smells nice but not too heavy, lasts for ages (been using it daily for two weeks and still barely used quarter of bottle), comes in a squeezy bottle and is cheap! I don't think it'll stop me getting stretchmarks- you'll either get them or you won't. Anything that says it'll prevent them is a lie as then it would be classed as a medication because the active ingrediants would have to penetrate the dermis so it'd be px only... Use what you like would be my recommendation! :)

Wtdn- I totally forgot to go to the sale which is pretty irritating. Though seeing as car just cost a totally unexpected £200 to pass its mot I doubt I could've afforded anything anyway! Hope you're ok.

    Peonie- hope you're feeling better.

T2d & tinks- your crafting puts me to shame. I bought my moses basket fabric moons ago and still haven't done anything with it. *must do better*. T2D- what sort of cross stitch would you recommend as an 'easy' one to do?

MrsC & angwel- have lovely holidays! I'm off to my uncle's caravan in the lake district next week. My passport expired in May, i'm 26 weeks now so no time (or funds to get a new one) and have a burning desire for somewhere quiet where I can go for walks, sneaky shandies and a nice relax! I can't wait. I know Liverpool isn't a city on the scale of London but the sight and noise of people has really started getting on my overtired wick the past week or so! Strange as I usually love the hustle and bustle!

Tink- i got my over bump jeans from h&m. They're deliciously comfy. I 2 underbump pairs from primark (i live in jeans) which i wear with a bump band to keep them up. Also have a pair of underbumps from next that got off ebay and they do stay up and have these handy adjuster straps inside the waistband to keep them snug on you. Also, if you have your mat exemption card am sure you can get indigestion stuff free from chemist without faff of px http://www.boots.com/en/Pharmacy-Health/Health-pharmacy-services/Pharmacy-services-support/I-need-more-information/Minor-ailments-service-NHS/ think you can only get paracetamol and gaviscon type things on it if you're pregnant. Worthwhile for next time though. :)

Am currently off work. Am totally exhausted and have been vomming. Last night am sure baby tried to kill me. Was (unusually) deeply asleep until baby wellied me in the stomach. Ended up breathing in stomach contents so today chest is absolutely killing me. Nothing like a bit of aspiration choking to get the panic surging at 3am! I honestly didn't know what had hit me! Poor oh freaked out as i coughed right in his face loudly then rolled out of bed onto hands and knees and started coughing/ choking! The glamour of pregnancy! Saw my grandparents yesterday and they want to buy the pram. They gave us £500! Can't believe it. Feel so lucky/ blessed- i got all emotional on them which they were embarrassed about (super northern- made of stern stuff! :) ). Seeing as already bought pram have decided to use it to buy isofix base and then save rest of it to use for activities (like waterbabies/ massage etc) with baby whilst off. Will show them pram and isofix so they can see what they have in effect bought. Can't wait for them to meet their first great grandchild.

Am off for another kip now. Baby has gone quiet so will start napping when i can! Hope you're all well! :)

Well looks like car bump at weekend has to go through insurance estimates was £500-600 based on photos I took at time money we don't have so insurance it is husband hopes won't affect premiums too much as have protected no claims we r not claiming for damage to mine as excess is 250 n we expect it to cost there or thereabouts so once factor that in no way could we afford other person repairs - still cross with myself

Back to docs tomorrow need to decide if I am fit to return to work thur I change my mind several times a day dependant on how I feel at that moment. I may ask for an additional wk rather than another 2.

Tea andcake that was nice of your grandparents - highly recommend a base makes life so much easier n car seats score higher in which safety tests when used with one.

We have been looking at the isafe baby pram pushchair car seat base bundle on Amazon but think it's new so limited reviews available anyone else looked at it??

loveactually the stuff I used last night was soap and glory, I've got tons of the stuff so not bothering with 'official' stretch mark creams. As it's been said you're either going to get them or not and as I've gained and lost weight over the years I have some anyway so not that bothered by them.

With regards to work I informally told my manager a couple of weeks after I found out due to having a neurological condition and not knowing how I would be affected so wanted her to know early. I formally handed in the paperwork last week when I was just gone 18 weeks but will have the MATB1 form to hand in after my 25 week midwife appoinmtent.

TCOD how amazing of your grandparents, I'm not surprised you got emotional what a lovely thing for them to do.

    T2D love the cross stitch

Lilmiss - you're right I felt the internal pressure as well before I felt the baby moving, and I'm sure it was the baby :)

I was given my MATB1 form at 22 weeks and handed it in at work, but told my manager after my 13 weeks scan.

came home from work at lunch time, got there and by 9 had a stonking headache and was just feeling exhausted. think last week's visitors and trying to work on the nursery yesterday caught up with me, unfortunately the heat in the car on the drive home (even with the extravagance of air con which I don't usually turn on) left me hit by the heat, so had just pulled up onto drive way when threw up out of car door. Think i'll be taking the flexi day off, that I arranged tomorrow as a just in case thing.
Been for my B12 jab today so hopefully that will kick in pretty quickly and i'll get an energy boost, though it hasn't done so the last couple of times. Was weird making an appointment for 1st sept and thinking that if baby decides to come early I could miss it as I'm in labour - tis all very scary.
  • Love actually - the best thing you can do is check your mat leave policy. Mine states that I must have informed them of my dates by 15th week before my due date. So I must inform them before 25 weeks. I am allowed to change my mind with 28 days notice. I am currently trying to get someone to confirm how much leave i can carry over and if I give birth early whether that is carried over. My manager says he is happy with whatever bless him.

Otherwise for me the second trimester has involed finding out we're team blue, a decrease in crippling tiredness and since i stopped folic acid, improvement in digestion etc, getting a bump that is noticeable to the outside eye, being sick three times for the first time this pg, leaking boobs and feeling movement.

Slight complication is that one day of my job is being cut but not until October so should not affect my mat leave.

RMR - not horrible. That's why we all like posting. To hear about people going through the same thing. If this is my worst problem i shall count myself lucky.

t2d - could be. One of mine did and the other didn't go hard but both leak.

I use the aldi bio oil. For about a week-2 weeks I am using it twice a day as my skin has gone SUPER dry.

Daisiegg what alioops said - hope you are alright?

I have had awful tummy ache since late afternoon. Goes off when I lie down and do nothing (DH - where's my dinner?!) Boobs remeasured. Gone up 32 DD to 36 E to 36 F or G.

Thanks for all the feedback on names! :D

Thanks for asking, alioops and lilmiss. Yes, I am ok. The allergic reaction was not a big deal at all. It has happened frequently all through my life so I am very used to it, but I just didn't like having to take the medication. It knocked me out for most of the weekend and also must have knocked baby girl out as she didn't move at all ( that I felt) for about 24 hours :( I was really upset and worried.

Sorry I haven't been posting. I am reading constantly. Just feeling quite stressed, fed up, frustrated and low. I was probably stupid and unprepared but I didn't expect pregnancy to be like this. Don't want to just keep posting self absorbed posts moaning about myself so didn't post!

T2D I've had inverted nipples my entire life until the minute I got pregnant, now you could hang things off them they're so huge, and the bit round them is pretty hard. It's very weird for me as I'm just so not used to this lol They're not as painful as in the early days of pregnancy thankfully.
