Monty my boss said its 50/50 today whether I'll find out before holiday, if not then it will be when we are home.
For hubby I'm not sure but similar timelines - possibly more likely after hols for him. If it wasn't both of us I'd feel less worried...
In terms of planning ahead, if we both go then redundancy would tide us over for at least a year. If I go and he stays I could stretch my lump sum and mat pay out for a couple of years and if he goes and I stay I would probably have to go back full time after 5mths or so :0(. That's my least preferred option...!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
So we would manage whatever, however we like/love our jobs and where we work and have a great lifestyle. I don't think either of us wants to lose that.
We waited until we were established in careers, have plenty of room and good savings cushion before ttc but just goes to show you can never really plan!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
No there's never a 'right' time
I really hope things work out for you and someone who is making the decisions have a heart and don't make an expecting couple both redundant. Fingers crossed for you xx

Just updated Sainsbury little one club details n found out can't get the new mum/baby freebies when already a member!! I tried signing up with new email n saying no nectar card but recognises your address. Ermmm wondering now if I opt out of it n rejoinder whether that works.0

Hi LoveActually - so pleased to see you here. Glad everything is going well!
Monty - massive good luck for meeting today, hope it goes/went well. Sock it to them, you have definitely been treated very shoddily!
Freebie - boo to the car bump. Are the Sainsbury's freebies any good?
Lilmiss - ouch on NCT. I bit the bullet and went for it. I really, really hope its worth it!
Lollypop - hope you hear soon and that you are both ok and able to keep your jobs. Horrible to have it hanging over you though.
On the whole, I am really enjoying being pregnant (apart from the stress and bleeding in the first trimester). There have been a few unexpected things, but nothing awful so far, touch wood. Totally appreciate that everyone is different though and its tough when things are rough.
Re jeans, I just got some in New Look, one pair of over and one pair of under bump. They have not arrived yet, so will let you know how I go. On a separate note, I went into Next, but the assistant said they only sell mat stuff on line and no stores stock the range. Not sure if this is true, but thought I'd share in case is saves anyone a wasted trip.0 -
Sainsbury little one club doesn't work if cancel n now not signed up so not signed up at all now just have to ring to sort it so hopefully can get that done tomorrow.
Gp has signed me off for 2wks was an overly unpleasant female gp who I didn't book to see mine was cancelled last min due to my doc being off n rearranged later in morning she was running 30mins late which meant got stuck in waiting area with everyone for walk in surgery not nice lots smells from fags to urine to lavender perfume not good when have horrendous nausea to then get 2mins with gp who wasn't interested in how I was - prob saw how many she had for walk in as they are shared out evenly between the docs (the 2 older partners whizz through in a nice way) n they finish when they finish.
Baby clubs if anyone interested with freebies are Tesco n Sainsbury. Emma diary. Aptamil. Cow n gate. Sma. Huggies n pampers. Naty nature nappies. Hipp organic. Heinz baby. (Sure I will remember more later)0 -
Sew it u get a £5 voucher now for baby stuff in 2010 when had last baby got a free mum n baby pk. But they do send u loads coupons regularly in first 2yrs n if combined with baby event offers u get some good deals. Sainsbury nappies used to be awful but they changed them about 2yrs ago n ones in a carry on on 2 for £10 or 3 for £14 are v good.
I have started buying nappies when on offer or have a coupon as will store under baby cot I did this last time n yes we had to buy some but saved money when on mat leave n reduced income we had no real issues with any type n have used every nappy available0
