glad it went so well for you Monty, you could certainly have done with it going that well so you didn't have the unnecessary stress.

Evening ladies. Well I overdid it a bit today I think. I only worked from home for about 5 hours at my desk, pottered around a bit and then ended the day with sharp slightly worrying stomach pains and a horrible headache!! I think the words 'take it easy' need to be absorbed more deeply into my brain!

I also think being at home makes me more stressy, and part of me wants to go to the prem clinic tomorrow just because it is open. They only run the clinic on Wednesdays, although I can call anytime. But I won't, I just suddenly feel so much more nervous about everything.

I do partially blame the progesterone. Did I tell you ladies I was back on the daily dose like from the first 12 weeks of IVF? Gives me headaches and makes it hard to sleep, all of which is probably not helping my anxiety levels. But, at about 6pm I did take a 40 minute nap and I feel much better for it. Made a spanish omelette with half the contents from my mixed veggie box and feeling healthy for once.
  • Hi ladies. Bit of a weird one and hope I don't annoy anyone! I weighed myself this morning and i'm lighter than my booking in weight. I booked in at 86.5kg (13st 8.5lb) and now i'm 85kg (13st 5.8lb). I'm 5'7" so my bmi was over 30 at booking in. I know that I shouldn't put on as much weight as someone who started at a healthy weight but when I just *ahem* dr googled it and by 26 weeks i should have put on between 4-6kg... I don't have a fabulous bump like some of you ladies have, i'm sick/worried about the constant 'oh you don't look pregnant' comments. My mw didn't measure my belly at last appt. I have an appt tomorrow with the high risk consultant. Should I bring it up then? Am worried as one of problems with unicornuate uterus can be IUGR (growth retardation.) but don't want more additional monitoring if i'm just being weird as it stresses me out so much going to the hospital. Went to birthing class tonight and there was a 22 week first time mum there who has a massive bump compared to me. The woman in my work who's due 2 days before me is also similarly bump endowed. Seems a stupid thing to be stressing out about though...

TCOD - I think there is enough natural variation in life for what you are seeing to be normal, but at the same time you should ask any question you have when you get the chance.

Is this your first consultant visit? To be honest I have found them a tad useless so far, but I guess push until you are happy with the answer. Did all go well at the 20 week scan? Was the baby measuring in the normal ranges?
  • They didn't seem concerned with measurements at 20 week scan so i'm trying to keep that in mind. If it wasn't for the uu i probably wouldn't be all that bothered (other than the bump envy! :) ) just worried that maybe it's ran out/ running out of room in there now that i'm a bit further on. Will ask consultant tomorrow. My other consultant appointments have been by and large a waste of time so hopefully she'll be able to help or reassure me that my brain is obsessing on worst case scenarios as it's prone to do.. :)

  • monty-doggy - glad you can put that work situation behind you and it went as well as possible. Also thanks to you and freebiequeenie on the nappies tips! DH is insisting on 'real' nappies. I have yet to be convinced but he is swearing he has system which he will share...

TCOD - yes I would mention it today. As you know you need to remind them why you are concerned (unicornuate uterus) and not just say that you are sure there is nothing to be worried about but your bump seems smaller. Otherwise all they'll hear is the latter rather than explaining to you how they know all is ok and at what point they would do more checks.

My bump is still pretty tiny also. I have to wear certain outfits for it to be seen otherwise I just look a little chubby in very baggy clothes. Certainly my 20 week measurements were all above expected and I have no reason to expect otherwise so have to trust my body is doing what it should be.

AFM I went to hydrotherapy last night and found it very relaxing. Came away feeling tired and relaxed. Better than pg yoga although I now have a new recommendation. The lady from old pg yoga and a lady I met at hydrotherapy both recommended her as funnily enough she had covered my old class last week! And she knows someone who does pg massage! :j

TCD, you need to tell the consultant as weight loss can be a sign of gestational diabetes. They'll do a blood test to check. My friend had it and she had to have fortnightly scans.

Monty, congratulations on the positive work outcome. It must have been a very hard time for you. Also, thanks for the nappy link, we've bought a box as they are cheaper than Costc0.

I'm hoping there will be a baby event at the Echo Arena soon. I hope to use reusable nappies at home and disposables when out and about. So need to learn about reusables and want to see them.

AFM, I've been a lot better but I'm still laying down and taking it easy when I need to.

I'd say something about weight. I'm a stone lighter than the beginning so I'm going to say something at my appt next week. My bmi was 34 and I've not been eating as big portions and I've been eating much healthier so that's prob why but I want to make sure!
