New problem, related to the recent discussion, is that I need to start thinking about mat leave, but I have an odd situation. It's my dad's company which I work for, but essentially I run it. I therefore want to work until I literally can't, and I want to go back when I feel like it. I don't want anything in writing as I have no clue how I'm going to feel.
I can do a lot of work from home, so want to be able to do that as and when I can after baby is born. Am I able to not specify?
Hi RMR - I have been sick 3 times in my pg so pretty lucky. On the other hand all those three times were in the second trimester! I haven't had the mythical burst of energy but since about 15/16 weeks I stopped feeling nauseous. I can now stay awake until gone 10pm if need be. I have enough energy to do a day at work and then make dinner rather than collapsing comatose. I enjoy food again. I am however having ridiculous problems with leaking boobs already! My t-shirt this morning had a 2 inch circular boob stain. I am starting to wear a bit of tissue as I am too tight to wear proper pads yet. I have had to buy panty liners though (tmi, soz). And growing pains in my boobs.
Surely mat leave is each company's own policy? Doesn't that mean you can do what you like (am I being naive?) You still need to get your matB1 form off I imagine for SMP.
MrsC - I understand. I was getting fed up at week 19 with not feeling anything so can understand. It definitely helps to make all the other stuff more bearable. I found until then it was all a matter of trust that something was really happening with just feeling rotten and no gain.
Lemontree- saw you go introduce yourself. Been doing a bit of lurking. I think a foot in both camps is a great idea!Met DH to be 2010

Eeek! Leaking boobs? Haven't even thought about that one yet. I have to say the nausea has almost completely gone, except when I'm exhausted.
The problem is that I'm exhausted by about 10pm every evening (like the rest of you by the sounds of it). I suppose it's good preparation for the future
And as I run the company, I need to check the official rules re mat leave. Am talking to our payroll lady on Wednesday about it.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -

Was just looking into childcare yesterday as part of planning mat leave. The yop link is official gov site about childcare in your local area so you have names to look up.
The second lets you guesstimate costs.
The third is handy if you are having a family member as it contains a sheet on it that list like a little mini contract if you need it. After all everything runs smoothly until it doesn't. My mother has appalling timekeeping for example and I am worried if she is involved about how reliable she would be overall. Equally DH's family like to go away outside school holidays (fair enough) and have their own health problems so while both are making helpful noises I am cautious of putting too much pressure on them.
I'll post anything else if I think of it but everything else would be v easy to find e.g. pros and cons of the different kinds are well covered by lots of well known sites.Met DH to be 2010

DON'T. Other than a friend of friend I appear to be alone with that one.
At my 16 week they listened to the heartbeat (v exciting), checked my wee and said that I don't need to give birth in a hospital if I don't want to. Don't remember owt else, neither does DHMet DH to be 2010

No leaky boobs here thankfully, knowing my luck with the way things have been going recently it will happen sometime and at the most awkward moment!
Even at the start of my scan last week we could see alien moving but then decided not to play other that wave it's fist in the air and then hide it's nose, I joked it's got a complex about that already (I have about mine). Never mind, although I can't feel it I'm getting fatter by the day and I get to have another peek on Friday! No longer ...tobe! Lemon tree, we were out at a fun day yesterday and every time I saw a pregnant lady I didn't check out how neat her bump was but how swollen her feet were! Not once did I see any like mine
