There is a spot in the wardrobe which I don't use where I could put in a safe and bolt it to the concrete floor. Actually quite a neat idea - useful thing to have in the house and we can move our passports to somewhere safer. We have already replaced one passport after it was 'lost', only to discover it a year later in the inside pocket of the snow gear!
There we go! Problem solved.without resorting to 'freezing your assets'... (Oh I do make myself laugh at least!)

hi ladies, hope you all had good weekends!
Re the mat leave - I need to take all holidays accrued before my mat leave starts, before my mat leave and then tag all accrued while on mat leave to the end before I go back. So, roughly I plan to start my mat leave on my due date and then take the holidays I've got left before that, so in theory I should finish up around 2 weeks before my due date. Like you MrsC I get 18 weeks full pay then SMP so at the moment planning on taking 9 months and seeing how we do re saving up to see if we can afford for me to take the last 3 months. I then need to go back for 13 weeks (full or part time) otherwise I need to pay back the enhanced mat leave. It is all very confusing and differs from company to company depending on what they add on to the legal min.
Daisie - you look great, don't worry! I'm starting to get a little bump (lower down) which is nice as I don't feel like people will think I just ate a huge meal! Which is defo where I was at with all the bloating! That seems to have settled down a bit now and low down my tummy has gone all hard, which I great as it means there is definitely a baby in there!!! :rotfl:
Does anyone know what you do about nursery? I've heard that you need to get your name down on lists now and say when and how many days you want??!! I have no idea at this point! I would like to return part time, but this might not be possible so do I book nursery for the days I'll need if I'm full time (3 days as respective parents will take a day each) or do I book on the premise that I'll be back my preferred 3/4 days therefore only needing 1 or 2 days of nursery? Any how the hell do you find a good nursery/childminder??
T2D/Ali - I had the same insomnia early on, but it seems to be ok down, fingers crossed it settles soon as its really annoying and exhausting.
Peonie - I hope your dr can give help you out, sounds not nice at all. Hugs x
RMR - hugs to you, sounds awful. The few symptoms I did have (including the insomnia) started fading around 16 weeks, so fingers crossed it does for you too.
Tea - you seem so organised with baby stuff, I am in awe! x0 -
Morning all,
Liverpool women's are piloting a new nationwide online info scheme for patients from today. Link here: https://liverpool-womens.custhelp.com/app/home apparantly you get personalised info about your pregnancy. Not had chance to have a proper look yet.
Just had my second 20wk scan - all looks ok but baby a bit on the small side so will be having another growth scan at 28 weeks. And it's deffo a girl (got the US lady to doublecheck)
Hope all ok - on phone so short and sweet

Morning all,
Wedding was great yesterday. Impressed I managed to wear heals all evening and dance too !
I am really not sure what I will do when I return to work this time. I currently work 4 days and dd goes to nursery but she will start school before I go back hopefully so will have one at school and one somewhere else so might have to to childminder to make it easier.
With my dd I had her name down for nursery at 4 months to go when she was 10 months. I think it depends on how popular the nursery is .0 -
Congrats WTDN - and sorry if I missed you were Team Pink before! Great your scan went well today, hopefully baby will catch up by the next one!
So we are one Team Pink and one Team Blue from the TTC12+ thread, wonder if it will work out a draw once Peonie and I pop! Excited to find out when the time comes! :j
Thanks for the advice Wendz, I think I'm going to have to start looking into it!0 -
I am also working out my leave - i think I will take 17 weeks and then some holiday after this and use holiday to stagger return to work. No Fridays until August 2015!!!
I did enquire re a nursery (it's a forest school) and they are booked until June 2015  so got my name down just in time to have a look around and reserve a spot for two days per week. (You have to have at least 2 days).
I still have some tiredness which is draining to say the least.
My 20 weeks scan is not until 22nd July so a while yet and tempted to book a private one at end of June as want to find out the sex so can start looking at bedding etc (would like something blue or pink).0 -
My doctors appointment is late this afternoon so I took the day off sick. It's going to affect my mat pay but I'm really not well.

Just been shopping for maternity clothes uninspired just got some jeans
Primark which I generally hate have loads mat jeans in sale at £5 black light blue n dark blue all 32 inside leg think it's because they have as new range mat jeans with varying leg lengths Inc 34".
I normally have a 33" leg but brought the dark blue as boot cut so look longer n will be fine for a fiver other colours were normal straight leg jeans n too short.0 -
Peonie let us know how it goes at the doctor. You have definitely done the right thing staying at home. Nothing worse than dragging yourself to work when you don't feel up to it! Hope you feel better soon.0

Hi, the doctor said it's a virus and is not from the pregnancy. She told me to take the week off work but has not given me anything to take. So I must have to wait until my body works it through my system.
So I plan on doing things round the house. We've been a bit lax lately. So I'll do what I can when I feel up to it and will rest at the other times.
I just want to know how this week off will affect my maternity pay.
I hope everyone else is well.
