  • Maternity leaves starts on the day you specify, or on the day you give birth if earlier (or from 34 weeks I think it is if off long term with pregnancy related illness) so I'd be guessing that ml would take place of holidays if you went early.

That sounds off. Surely they have to honour your leave and at least roll it over?

I've just had another dizzy/high temperature/vomiting episodes. Please tell me someone else is experiencing this?

Is this something you have had frequently?

I have had lots of dizziness, lots of vomiting, and often feel hot though I haven't taken my temperature to know if I have one. However I have had this a lot so I know for me the vomiting is pregnancy sickness and the dizziness is due to low blood pressure.

I would also advise seeking medical advice if it is something new and you are not sure why it is happening. You could have a bug or something?

Poor you, hope you feel better x

I've had it five times and it started last Sunday but I did start with a cold at the same time. The first thing I get is a dry throat, followed by high temperatures and then dizzy but, thankfully, only vomited twice. Strangely it's only happened when I've been at home.

I think I'll go to the doctors tomorrow.

De lurking just to say I have been advised that if for example I want to finish work 1st July, I can use holidays & start ML 1st August. I need to use my holiday allowance before ML. Unless you have an agreement with your employer that they will allow you to carry unused holiday into the following year.
ML must start on the agreed date, or the date the baby is born. You cannot start ML when baby is 1 week old for talks sake.

Luckily my employer has agreed that I can carry my leave for pawed to next year. I will only get smp is it will help me out either before or at end of ML.

Might as well go tomorrow - if only for peace of mind and to be told to stop worrying. Hopefully they might be able to sugges tsomething to ease the symptoms although poor daisiegg just seems to have to suffer.

So following a bath this morning, I can now see that the rash seems to be a change in my pigmentation whereby my pale skin is turning darker all over the bump. Look v weird! My boobs are also massively blue veined currently so i think they are getting bigger again. This week my bra has started leaving lines so am now on widest fitting having started on second smallest.

Re bumps - daisiegg didn't you post a pic a wee while ago? As I recall I was well jel of your bump. Don't forgot our bodies look weird as we are usually looking down on them. If I get brave I might take a photo and post it - I still feel small yes enormous all at the same time.

Thanks. So in my conversation on Friday I need to make sure any leave taken before is agreed to roll over NOW should little one pop out early? Ho hum.

Aw thank you. I know the pic you mean and it was in a purple top which is basically magic and the only thing I own that makes me look half decent right now!

This is yesterday...to illustrate what I mean....apologies for the weird angle which makes me look even shorter than I am. And also apologies for just being generally fat and unattractive! But you can see in this picture how my 'bump' is weirdly shaped and goes in at the middle and is basically not a 'bump' at all so much as a blob stapled to my front!

I think the bump, and you, look lovely. I know it's difficult when you see something completely different in the mirror, but you have nothing to worry about.

Ah thank you - you are lovely! Logically I know you are right, other people never see the same flaws we see in ourselves. Though it would have done no good telling me that when I caught sight of myself in that mirror going up the escalator yesterday!

daisy - your bump looks remarkably like mine, so don't worry. I never expected to be one of those stick insect ladies who just get a baby sized bump glued onto their tummies, so am trying to just accept and be happy with what I can control :)

monty - I've worked out what we'll be losing whilst I'm on half pay so we can start saving towards the shortfall, but have yet to really work out what we will go down to when hubby takes over my smp. I know we'll lose about half his pay, but I think my pay pretty much covers most bills as long as we're careful, and I'm planning on trying not to hit the saving too much whilst I'm off so hopefully we'll have enough time to cut our cloth, so to speak. we do have a window payment which finishes nov/dec time which reduces outgoings by £150 pm and if I'm on maternity leave that will save me over £150 per month on petrol so that will help us eek things out a bit. I'm just so glad that I finally cleared my debts about 18mths ago, so I'm used to being careful, and also it saves us hundreds in the payments that I used to make.
    sorry for the essay
