  • Re: the thrush issue. I was told I couldn't have an oral tablet, but could have pessary. I had thrush in first trimester and was prescribed a pessary. All is fine with baby but bit worried in case I get it again.

  • Oh, and thanks for all the advice re buying baby bits right at the end of pregnancy if I need to. It may well be a possibility as I'm going through the hell of selling and buying houses currently, and it could be just before baby is born before we move!

Good to know I have options though

tcod I'm not sure what the benefits of inducing older mums at 39 weeks, it's one of the questions I will be asking. I've also been put on baby aspirin tablets as I'm a mum over 40 (how to make you feel old!) which is supposed to help prevent pre eclampsia.

TCOD - agree not sure on benefits on inducing older mothers either .... Having been induced at 40 weeks with DD1 it was not a nice labour experience...... as your body doesn't go through the process......

As an older mum too (age 41) I have baby aspirin to take also but my consultant won't let me take it until my bleeding stops.....

I went in town for the first time in nearly 6 weeks today only for 30 minutes to do a few jobs that couldn't wait any longer..... I was totally shattered & I spent the whole time thinking i was going to have another massive bleed in the middle of town or a shop :(....
It totally made me shattered so have spent the afternoon on the sofa watching a miss marple!!!

We decided not to make the long journey to the wedding in hindsight it was totally the right decision after my town experience today.

Mrs C - Glad you have sorted your hollibob out ...

Daisi - Agree with others you need anti b's for a UTI in pregnancy .....
If you can think it........it will happen

    Hi all,

Hope you are all having a nice weekend. Had a busy one so far , went to visit family yesterday and then to an engagement party last night. I forgot how annoying drunk people are :rotfl:. Went back to my parents where i was staying and my poor dd had been throwing up. Seems fine today though so not sure what was wrong.

Going to a wedding tomorrow and having a wobble about what to wear. I am at that annoying just look a bit bloated stage. Also not sure i will last in heals all day!
  • Phew rash gone away - must have been over heating...

Bday party went well - we had people here from 1.30 to 8.30 so long but lovely to see people and share our blue news. Also got some second hand clothes for me and bubba.

I had no idea about UTIs causing premature labour. I too would have gone down the self management route.

Would be interesting to know about the issue with pessaries - could it be to do with inserting a foreign body which is more likely to cause a uti and hence the above problems? Hopefully someone's mw or dr will know!

wendz - enjoy the wedding. Know what you mean about the bloated stage. I wanted to say damn it I am pregnant you know!

  • I still don't think I look pregnant. I've always carried a bit of fat on the front of my tummy. It just looks like i've got more fat there. Tried on a pre-maternity sundress before to wear tomorrow if it's nice again and I just look fat. Don't know why it bothers me so much but it does! I just want to look pregnant for pete's sake! Think it's prob because i've always disliked my figure/ weight/ appearance so at the mo not looking pregnant just makes me feel fatter. Sound like a right crank- i've still not put any weight on so I have no clue why I'm being so stupidly irrational. :/

Lilmiss, i think it might be to do with foreign bodies. Know when I asked mil about kegel balls she nearly had a fit and told me how big a no-no that was due to infection risk. :)

I know what you mean TCOD. I have always had a soft flabby tummy, and now it's just moreso. When I look down though I can now see my belly poking out under my boobs, so I assume it will keep going and be a 'proper' bump eventually.

When I'm on the tube with my baby on board badge on I admit I push my bellly out a bit!
  • At least it's not just me then t2d! :)

    Evening ladies.
Just been catching up. Re thrush, I have the joy of this at the moment and MW told me no tablets but pessaries and cream are fine. Was told to not use the applicator though
