12-24 weeks pregnant (part 3)

Grrr. Getting a bit annoyed now. Am nearly at 15 weeks and, although my nausea has eased, none of my other symptoms have yet. So, my boobs are more painful than ever, I'm exhausted all the time, I feel bloated, I've lost my appetite and seem to have gone off most food, when I do eat I feel full in no time, I'm peeing all the time, I'm getting heart burn a lot, and in general I have no motivation for anything other than naps.
I know I shouldn't moan as it's all for a good cause, but all those reports of having a ton of energy and losing all your bad symptoms in the second trimester obviously haven't filtered through to me yet.
Sorry for the rant. It's just getting me down today.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -
RMR - here's the view from 6 weeks ahead. To give and take away hope!
I think the painful boobs stay forever. I spoke to a breastfeeding lady on the weekend and she said from week 18 you create colostrum, so boobs will only get worse! Mine ache when my bra comes off, and intermittently through the day I get shooting pains.
I have found the bloating has gone down. Replaced with fatness, but if I keep up a steady fibre intake and prevent constipation it feels ok. I have never eaten as much fruit as I do at the moment, plus a bowl of all bran each day. I get heartburn from time to time, but not as much as in the early days or as intense.
The desire for naps doesn't go away!! But I do have more energy. It's not as crippling as it was, when I could sleep 12 hours, and follow that with another 12 hours sleep.
The symptom I am struggling with now is insomnia, which is incredibly annoying. I fall asleep after a loooong time, then wake up again after some random dream. Then eventually drift off again, only to wake up quickly after. Last night I was tossing and turning so much I went to the spare room at 4am. Slightly better sleep from then on (as I wasn't also worrying about annoying DH) but still pretty rubbish. Feeling so tired today, which triggers my nausea. Should be a fun day!
Wow - what a rant!! Apologies for that ladies.0 -
RMR - don't worry about ranting it's what we're here for. I can't really give any advice as to when things will ease as my neurological condition also causes exhaustion.
My boobs have eased a bit but still have moments of tingling and I'm in comfort bra's now as wearing underwire is really hurting plus the skin is itchy underneath.
T2D - I've started waking up at stupid o'clock too and it's really frustrating as I normally never wake up until my alarm goes off. I ended up using a trick to drift back off to sleep which is to name 2 things for each letter of the alphabet, it stops your mind from thinking of other things a bit like counting sheep does. Last night was countries.
I've had my 18 week mw appointment this morning and everything was fine. Just checked my urine and blood pressure, had a general chat and was given my next appointment which is at 25 weeks when she'll listen to the heartbeat. Apparently the reason for this appointment was in case I just walked out after my 12 week scan.
Unfortunately for some reason I started crying after I got out of the appointment and haven't stopped so have rung work and taken a days leave and am just going to have time to myself today. Really have no idea why I'm crying other than hormones, feel like a right idiot.DEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Other minor complaint - it seems my fingers are swelling. I had to take off my rings yesterday and they were so tight I could barely get them on and off. My engagement ring used to float on my finger, but is now very tight. May have to remove them soon. I'm not keen on wearing them on a necklace as it doesn't feel as secure. I'll have to think of somewhere actually safe to keep them that I don't
a) forget them
b) accidentally throw them out in a fit of nesting instinct
c) lose them.
I'm thinking of a bank deposit box! Is that crazy?? They are not that valuable (a few k) but I could move the small amount of valuable jewellery I have, just to save me from myself.0 -
Oh, runmichellerun, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but....I decided long ago that the mythical second trimester bloom was just that - a myth! For me, anyway. I am now 22+4 and still being sick most mornings. Boobs are still very sore - as t2d says, I think this will carry on throughout. Bloating has actually improved but I still have impressive wind every evening! As for energy, I have very little. Last night, for example, I slept for close to 12 hours (with being up for about 30 mins at 5.30am to drive hubby to the station) and really had to force myself to get up at 10am - I could easily still be asleep right now. I have not hit any blooming stage...got terrible acne and hair is dry and coarse. And with the second trimester have come other lovely symptoms: lower back pain, dizziness due to low blood pressure, recurring thrush, headaches...it is all delightful!
I don't want to be all very negative (I promise that feeling baby's kicks make it all worthwhile) but I wish someone had told me this...I genuinely believed that a switch would flip when I hit 12 weeks and I would stop being sick, suddenly have loads of energy and look amazing. I am still waiting for that switch to flip! So I think you need to just keep taking it easy and don't expect miracles. You may be one of the lucky ones who feels better soon and I hope you are, but don't be alarmed if you don't, because I don't think everyone does. And never apologise for ranting here - it's what we're for!
alioops sorry you are feeling lowhopefully a day at home to yourself is what you need. Stupid hormones!!

Mine are getting that way too but I really don't want to take them off for good - I will feel naked! I take them off frequently anyway for showers/cooking etc (they have quite a lot of diamonds) so I am hoping that if I keep doing that every day I will manage to keep wearing them...fingers crossed! Presumably you don't have a safe at home? We do - a big one bolted to the floor and walls in a quite hidden place, and that is where I keep my jewellery when I am not wearing it so I suppose if I took my rings off I'd keep them there. Failing that I think your idea of a bank deposit box isn't crazy at all.0 -
Or do you have somewhere where you keep important things like passports and birth certificates? Could they go in the same place?0

In the bedside drawer... next to a load of junk! And that drawer will be removed at some stage for the cot. Maybe I will get a little safe. A quick google has told me that safety deposit boxes don't really exist anymore.0

This is going to sound really strange but we keep a couple of valuable items that cannot go in the safe for reasons I will not explain here in case a naughty burglar is reading(!) in the freezer! Theory being burglars won't look there and it is not going to get scooped up and thrown out with paperwork or whatever by accident. We used to hide keys for things in there before we got the safe. I suppose it would rely on you not having a nesting moment and clearing the entire freezer, not stopping to wonder what that little black square box that you just chucked out was!
If you do get a safe think about getting one that will be fixed down...otherwise burglars just pick them up and take them.0 -
There is a spot in the wardrobe which I don't use where I could put in a safe and bolt it to the concrete floor. Actually quite a neat idea - useful thing to have in the house and we can move our passports to somewhere safer. We have already replaced one passport after it was 'lost', only to discover it a year later in the inside pocket of the snow gear!0
