Has anyone had a difference of opinion with OH regarding the 20 week scan and finding out the sex of the baby? I really want to know and OH doesn't and we're both being stubborn!

He says he'll leave the room and I can find out but I can't see how I can keep it a secret - surely I'll give it away accidently in conversation :)

We decided not to find out in the end. DH didn't want to know and I wasn't bothered so we didn't find out. DH then changed his mind and really wanted to know and I didn't so we decided it was fairer not to find out in the end. We had our 20 week scan last week and are now officially team yellow!

We thought it fairer to wait if one person really wanted to know and the other didn't.

Sorry not to be more help!

Ps Milkshakes are my saviour at the moment! Off to the drs next week about my heartburn as its silly now! Every meal i end up with it!

Welcome Dinah  and congrats again!

Raspberry, I'm afraid I'm the team yellow hold-out like your OH :D We ended up not finding out at all, but he wasn't too upset about it. Maybe it would have been different if he had been really keen.

Teabag - glad to hear you're feeling better. It makes such a difference not to feel that awful nausea.

Hope you're feeling okay Aqua, and glad you're enjoying things.

Hey it's 24 weeks for me tomorrow, can't believe it! I'm so happy to have got this far and still things seem to be good. I'm going to move up to the 'big' thread. Hope to see you all there soon xxx

Ha ha Im so totally there I've been "backed up" for weeks :rotfl: but I got the boots baby club magazine through on saturday and in it was the answer to my prayers as in one of the articles it recommended to take fybogel for constipation. It tastes like my worst nightmare but I'm already feeling the difference so would recommend it for sure.

lactulose :) my midwife told me to get it, it's a medicine. a spoonful a day and you'll be sorted.
  • I ate a few prunes every day and it sorted everything out with my constipation! I now eat a few every other day and no problems since :)
  • Thanks for the comments re finding out the sex of the baby. I just really feel like I would benefit from knowing - if it's girl it's going to take me a little longer to get my head around the idea so I'd like some warning. I know we're not meant to say these things out loud but that's how I feel.

Told OH this (he already has two children) so he knows why I want to know but is adament he doesn't want to know, and didn't for his other two.

Just feel like I've been the one to back down about other things so far, like when we're telling his kids about the baby so would really like to be bale to find out the sex. Probably makes me sound selfish, wanting my own way!!!

Ive just booked a 3d gender scan for March 24th when I will be 16+4, always wanted one. Has any of you ladies had one of these with past pregnancies and if so does it look anything like the baby when its born or do they all look the same at this stage?

Went in for my bloods for downs today and they were concerned about the amount of sugar in my urine. I said that I had been suspected of diabetes before and had a test over five years ago now where I had a lot of sugar in my urine a gain but the pin !!!!! test was fine. She spoke to her manager and they've decided they are going to do the glucose test for me at 28 weeks even though I'm young, fit and healthy in case of gestational diabetes. Yikes! Could mean an early induction then!
