Tea bag glimmer of hope is right you must call back! Don't put the phone down until they've prescribed you something.
Please do this today. If the dr says this will pass soon he clearly is an idiot.
Ask to speak to another one and explain you are basically bed bound. I also found the best thing is to ring up & ask for medication, don't ask for anything else they'll just go on about ginger biscuits & other rubbish that doesn't help when you have it this bad. I said I've tried everything please can you prescribe me some tablets!0 -
Teabag - call pregnancy sickness support on 024 7638 2020. My understanding is that they have a dr or pharmacist who can help you in obtaining medication. Please give them a ring.0

Does anyone know how to work out how much SMP is after tax and NI? Or how I could find out? Im trying to work out how much I will be getting whilst on mat leave, I will be getting payments from my employer as well, which is half pay for 6 months, I have just halved my take home salary which I guess would be about right for that part, unless Im missing something? But Im not sure on the SMP.
Just to jump in from the next thread for a second; I spoke to our finance department at work yesterday and she basically said that they can't deduct anything from SMP as it's already so low plus the employer can claim certain elements back against/from it (TX and NI she believed) so the £130 odd would be your take home.
As you will still be getting money from your employer that is the part you would pay tax and NI on but that would depend on your total expected earnings for the tax year and tax code as to how much you can earn in the next tax year before you pay tax. Your employer should automatically do whatever it is they need to do to inform the tax man etc to ensure the change in the year's pay is treated correctly************************************

I've had a rotten headache all day
plus indigestion.
But have finally got hold of my uncle to tell him (he's very hard to track down!), and since I got the guts up to call my estranged step-nan a couple of days ago, plus now having had the 20 week scan, I thought it was about time to go "public" and post it on Facebook!
I felt really nervous about it, don't know why.
I posted a photo of husband and I taken last week, with the words "we though we'd let you know, there are 3 of us in this photo". And then a copy of the scan pic is pasted ontop in the corner.
Phew it's done. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Robots - I've been suffering from headaches they are awful! I've found the only thing that really helps is to drink a can of full fat coke. I hate the taste but it works! Something to do with the caffeine and sugar and the blood vessels?
Sounds like a lovely way to post your news. I'm sure you will be inundated with likes!
AFM: I think I'm going to have to go the Dr soon as i have horrific heartburn every time i eat anything. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago due to gall stones so i wonder if that might be playing a factor. Gaviscon isn't really helping much! but an ice cold milkshake does!

Thanks Mrs Muffin.
Humm, Cola eh? I'm happy to try that. I really like pop! But gave up pop & almost all caffein since getting pg.
Today I tried sleep, fresh air mild exercise, a bucket of peppermint tea, that forehead herbal stick thing, and finally a radox bath has beaten it into manageable. I was v close to painkillers, and I'm not keen on them even before being pg!
Sorry your heartburn is worse. I'm sorry I have no advice. Milk seems to be my go-to food, and did deal with my indigestion earlier. Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
The coke thing is really weird as i have always drank diet coke and have switched to caffeine free, as its better for baby but now i just have a full fat coke and my headache eases! I have also tried everything from fresh air to the forehead stick and actually i gave in and tried paracetamol and it didn't do anything but a can of coke did! Weird! Its worth a try at least!

Arg when will the sickness stop, it's nowhere near as bad as it was but I'd just like it to go away completely now if that's ok.
Hugs teabag I agree with the others you are being fobbed off please don't wait two weeks ask your doctor for a house call and get something prescribed you shouldn't have to feel that bad x
Hugs for the headaches I miss nurofen liquid capsules at such moments lol
Hugs to all

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one suffering from indigestion - mine has started with a vengeance this week! No obvious cause for it as I'm not eating much, I don't rush food and I've been avoiding spicy foods like the plague. For some reason hits in the night and nothing seems to ease it. So have to suffer until it goes of it's own accord.
How curious some of you are having more headaches - before being pregnant I used to have quite frequent headaches and migraines. Since being pregnant (touch wood) I've had no migraines and only two headaches in the last few weeks. Still early days though, everything could change!
teabag, be persistent with your GP, it really sounds like you're being fobbed off. I hope they give you something to help you out!
Off for my consultant's appointment today. The one that was meant to be immediately after my 12 week scan and no one told me about. Still, bizarrely quite looking forward to it and discussing my pregnancy plan with him.

Sorry you're suffering Purcy. It won't help me saying that I last threw up at around week 19, and nearly did this morning
I'm 22+5 today. But the constant feeling of nausea (sp?) did go at around week 17.
What I found helped was not being totally empty, which was hard! I kept having cough drops or fruit sweets. To the extent that for my birthday (jan 21) I got a 3kg bag of fruit chewy jellies off the market and now there's only 0.8 of a kilo left!! (Yup I just weighed it)
Miss Imaginative - good luck at the consultant today.
I'm adding coke to my shopping list, thanks MrsM.
Teabag - I hope you've got somewhere with your doctors / that charity xPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0
