Yes I'm being stupid but I can't help it
Monty you are not being stupid as these things are important to you and I think the better informed by the consultant or midwife you are will help to reduce how scared you are.
Everyone involved has seen it all and I think you've got to try and remember that and unfortunately they're going to have to look at you down there. You can put into your birth plan that you want your baby cleaned up before being passed to you so that he/she is nice and non-gooey and pink in colour.
I'm pretty sure that your OH will want to come near you, probably more so after everything that you have been through especially as it's a miracle baby for you both.
Is there any chance of moving your consultants appointment to be sooner rather than waiting 3 weeks?
To be honest my consultant appointment was a little bit of a waste of time as with my condition it's quite rare so she didn't know a lot about it and was referring to the NHS information on it BUT there is a plan in place and I know that I'm getting the care that is need and there is someone I can contact if I need to.

I'm ok waiting for the appointment, I'm just having a teary day. I feel stupid and am going to try and get on with some housework and stop obsessing. I've jut watched a brilliant OBEM on 4OD called one born plus sized mums. It made me feel so much better because I'm no way near their size and they all got through it. I was stressing this morning because I've put half a stone back on from the weight I lost and I don't want rapid weight gain.
I really am just having one of those days and I need to snap out of it!
Thank you for the reassurances xx0 -
Glad I was able to help a bit. I was going to suggest OBEM especially having watched a couple of women with disabilities give birth on there and were treated amazingly and I have seen that plus sized one too.
I've put a stone on between January and when I was weighed at my booking in appointment and felt bad as I'd lost 3 stone the year before but you know what I'm just going with what my body wants and if it means eating more than I was then I will I'm just making healthier choices about it.
I think the best thing to remember is that you're not alone in any of this whether it's RL or on here support is there for you xxDEBTS ARE BEING DEALT WITH AS BEST WE CAN:heart: Married my prince on 27/08/2011Baby Girl born 21/10/14:D:D:D:D

Welcome Angeltreats, Runmichellerun and Wendz86, you'll love it here, its a great bunch of ladies!
So, I had my mw app yesterday and am officially 16+5! Woo hoo. everything was fine except my platelet count was a little high. I asked the mw what that meant and she said she didn't know! Helpful. Anyway, I've to go back for repeat bloods and as I've got an appointment with a Dr at the end of June, they will deal with it then. From Dr Google (I know, I know, step away) is only slightly above normal limits and we think (again from Dr Google) that it could be related to the blood clot I had so just hoping it is nothing serious, but I think it will be fine.
re NCT, just looked and I think its about £150 in our area. I've heard the same re meeting people, so I think I'll just book it anyway. I've asked some mummy friends for their opinion. I've also looked into pg yoga, which comes out at £10 a class here, but again I'm really keen to do this, so I think I will just book that too. EEKK, already spending a fortune on this wee one (well, its on me really so that's ok!)
I think we've pretty much decided to go with the Maxi-Cosi Pebble and family fix base, just need to see it in the flesh now. I know its a lot of money, but as I'm getting almost everything else second hand, I think I deserve the one nice new thing to be the one I really want! I know this is not very MSE, but screw it! Will of course look for discounts etc and get it at the best price possible.
T2D, hope the swelling has gone down and the aches have subsided a wee bit.
Monty - its fine to be terrified of childbirth, I think we all are as its the unknown. Speak to your consultant and also there is a recognised condition of fear of childbirth, so you might be able to use the combination of things to get an elective CS if that is what you want.
Ali - I've had stretchy type pains too, its all very new and strange!
hugs to everyone! xxx0 -
Hi All so we went for our 12 week scan on Monday I ended up having a massive bleed for the second time in two weeks but by some miracle our baby is still there very active & we have been moved forward by 6 days!
So today we are 13w1
I am finally out of hospital and with still no answers as to why I have had these bleeds....
I am still bleeding but not massively and my doctor at the hospital rang me this morning and I am having another scan on June 18th.
xxxIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Welcome to the newbies!
I haven't been on for a few days as I've been poorly with the worst cold I think I've ever had! It's been over 3 weeks and has now turned into a sinus infection so I am on antibiotics. Everytime I try to go to sleep I have a coughing fit so I have spent this week sleeping on the sofa so I can sleep upright as this seems to help. The only problem is it means I wake up with savage cramp in my legs. So along with that and pulled muscles etc from all the coughing I am having a bit of a pity party here.
In regards to birth plans, I was told we would discuss mine at my 36 week consultant appointment, she is going to decide then whether to discharge me back to MW care...seems a bit cutting it fine to me but hey ho, things usually work out so I'm not going to panic.
tinkwinks, sorry to hear about the bleeding but glad baby is OK and hoping you get some answers0 -
Oh and also went to get a mole checked yesterday as it had grown loads recently. Apparently this is a normal occurance in pregnancy! I guess another one of those things that no one tells you.0

Hey laila
Hope you feel better soon.
I've started taking magnesium and it's really helped with leg cramps. I'd recommend x0 -
saw my midwife this afternoon, for my 22week appointment and all seems well, heard the heartbeat loud and strong which was lovely. Next appointment is at 28 weeks the day after my scan. Got my 20week take two scan next Tuesday, hope baby plays ball this time and they can finish the measurements and we can find out it's sex.
Laila, I said to the midwife today there's loads of things that no one tells you about being pregnant, turning into a paranoid gibbering wreck being the biggest one!
Monty hugs for your teary days, I had two teary weeks last week and the week before but this week things seem more positive. So don't worry I'm sure we've all been there.0 -
Lailap, I had the worst cold I've ever had a few weeks ago. I'm normally very healthy ( well... sort of) so I was a bit surprised. Plus it took ages to properly get better, and I've still got a bit of a blocked nose.
Home in bed after a tiring day. Had a quick listen with the Doppler and heard the baby loud and clear. Very nice to just lie here and listen. In not getting much movement so nice to be able to check on the bub from time to time.
20 weeks today!0
