oh and I've finally made the list of 10 (though it came out at 11) favourite boys names so that once OH has made this list we can work our way through it and narrow down the field. Now I've got him ready to consider them, because we may never know what team we're in before baby arrives, I need to capitalise on it and get him to really think about it. Anyone else finding names of one sex hard to decide upon? we easily picked two possible girls names, took no discussion at all were happy with the first two we talked about.0

Hi all
What a fantastic wkend for weather!
Really loving hearing all about your nesting - we've had a weekend like that, sorting all stuff that should have been done ages ago. It feels good!
Have bags of energy - Need to keep going until it wears off. Baby has been very energetic today too
Congrats on team blue Lixi! - I still think I'll be joining you soon...
Lemontree - we can easily think of loads of beautiful girl's name but boys names we find really difficult!
Argos have some bargains on their travel systems at the moment. I don't want to spend too much and am torn between the Hauck Eagle and Joie Kixx.... anyone any opinions. I don't mind people saying they are crap - would rather know!
Have joined a yoga class and can't wait to start - have been really lazy since our BFP, and need to get my !!!! into gear - plus hoping I will meet other mums-to-be. Also planning on going swimming once a week at leisure centre.... (have been saying this for about a month though)0 -
we've got the Joie car seat to go with our Joie chrome travel system, they seem to have good reviews but not sure about what is the best etc0

SewIt - whereabouts are you? I'm up in NE Scotland. We also had overcast yesterday with rain thrown in later on and then overcast but warm today. It was warmer outside than it was inside! No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000

Wtdn, i got the joie chrome like lemon. Didn't want to spend a fortune on a pram as would have to sell a kidney! I liked it as it could be front and forward facing, the bits all change quite easily without adaptors- in theory when i'm popping out i'll just have the chasis and baby can stay in the car seat, it's quite light and it was really easy to use. It also fit in my clio boot so that was a win. I personally wasn't a fan of the prams you have to put the car seat on in addition to the pram seat- I'm clumsy in the extreme and could imagine some disaster befalling the baby! It also made the pram bulkier/ a bit heavier so it'd have been a pain getting it in the boot.... I haven't read much about hauck prams though the netmums or mumsnet site is good for reviews. I read a couple of reviews ages ago when I saw one on offer at babies r-us ages ago and it was a fair to middling review so I wasn't that taken with it. It's hard work finding a pram though! I'd try and play with them first and see what you like/ don't like about them..
I have this irrational fear that baby will hate me as i've gone for cheap and second hand stuff. Then I think to myself even if we had the money I probably couldn't spend so much on a pram and new things when they grow so quickly! It does stress me out though. I don't want my kids to go without like I did but the financial state we're in doesn't really make me think it'll be any different. I never really thought about the cost of having a baby as I didn't think it was that important but now i'm doubting myself.
Lemon, have you bought a car seat base for the joie gemm? I was looking at buying the one that's compatible with it (£45 belted and about £65 isofix) but now just seen they do one called i-anchor which fits jemm and bigger seats. It's £100 which hurts a bit but now i'm thinking spending that now would prob make buying a bigger car seat cheaper in long run (the seat that fits on it can be rear facing til they're 4 which i'm told is much safer)... Urgh. What to do...
Confession time. I still have not made it to the pool. I won't this week either cos working the next 8 days. My only consolation is still have no appetite but have had the nesting urge kick in so have spent last two days shifting cowboy builders rubbish and rubble... That can count as my exercise for the last 4 months! :rotfl: baby now kicks so hard that oh can feel it through my tummy fat on a regular basis. He got all teary eyed the first time which was really quite sweet. Think it overwhelms him a bit when he feels it.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!0 -
Mrs C - I'm down in Glasgow. Our weekend weather was exactly the same as yours!
TACOD - I figure I am better saving money on baby things now when baby won't remember and save the pennies to become financially stable when baby is older and will remember that we couldn't go on that day trip, or dad was working all the time and couldn't spend time with them. I am a firm believer that kids need a secure home and parents who love them and spend time with them more than they need stuff. I have one friend who's dad is a millionaire, but he has no relationship with him and rarely spent time with him when he was growing up. I find this so sad as i have amazing memories of playing with my dad (and my mum) and had a great childhood even though we weren't rich.
Happy Monday ladies x0 -

I have also not done anything! I was waiting for the burst of energy you are suppose to get in the 2nd trimester....still waiting...
I fancy swimming but because I did not do it before (often) then I am unsure if I will do more harm than good? All local antenatal classes are whilst I am at work!
I have noticed that my tummy hurts when I turn over in the night from one side to the other for about a minute, until settled. Has anyone else felt this? Only if I roll over on my back though, if I turn by skimming my tummy on the bed I am fine. Quite weird!0 -
I *think* I might have felt my first baby flutterings, but could equally not be! Felt like little bubbles down about an inch lower than my belly button, down to my public bone. Is that too low, or is it just wind?! I'm 16 weeks, is that too early?0
-
Exciting Sewit! 16 weeks is early, but not impossible. I'm getting odd things from time to time, but I'm still not sure what is baby and what is gas. Last night I was lying quietly with my hand on my tummy and I think the flutterings were definitely baby, and one more solid kick. I'm 19+5.
I missed out on some of your lovely weather on the weekend, but had a nice time with family in Dublin. Got home and the in-laws were there, so dinner out last night. I need a weekend now to recover!0 -
Sewit, I was able to feel the baby moving from 16 weeks so it sounds like you are too
We're another one with now mostly third-hand stuff, as DS has used all the baby bits once already! He still couldn't care less what colour things are (though he is fussy about socks, bizarrely) or where they come from. The best bit of the holiday last week was picking up a Percy train toy and 4 Thomas the Tank engine books from a charity shop for 50p. He is absolutely thrilled with them.
I'm walking a couple of miles a day to get to work, so that's enough exercise for me!
The worst bit about going away is coming back to over 100 emails, most of which need a reply. Is it home time yet?0
