I went to the dentist last week for a routine check. No bleeding gums yet but was warned this was likely. Unlikely they will do anything about it.

Morning all
I am feeling extremely emotional at the moment. I went into Mothercare yesterday to buy something for our little girl but I just started crying. Then I was laughing at myself for crying and I am sure that hubby thinks I've gone insane. I just feel like crying all the time at the moment even though I am not sad! Even the smallest thing can set me off...bloody hormones. :rotfl:
No bleeding gums here but I am off to the hygienist on Thursday which I really hate and I am sure they will be bleeding after that! Cheeky dentist tried telling me I had to pay £40 to see the hygienist privately, it wasn't until I questioned her and said you can do a scale & polish on the NHS that she agreed...I wonder how many people have been fooled by that? On the plus side my pregnancy hormones have also made me into quite the bulshy cow so I am not taking any rubbish off people when I might have before.
Good luck for your scan today Daisie0 -
Good luck for your scan today Daisie
Thank you!hopefully in less than two hours we will know what we're having!
I think my mum is even more excited than we are. She and my dad are meeting us at Mothercare afterwards to have a first look at prams. And I intend to buy something very pink or very blue!
I feel like we are single handedly keeping Mothercare afloat at the moment, we will basically have bought absolutely everything from there!it is just so convenient as there is a big one five mins from our house, and no other shops selling anything baby related for miles around. There is a Toys r Us with a Babies r Us in the same place as Mothercare but we went in and it's rubbish, the babies section is teeny. So Mothercare it is!

good luck Daisy, I'm sure it will be amazing. you'll have to tell me how the process differs to a normal nhs scan, in case we decide to book ourselves one to try to find out what we're having, I'm really tempted, but will wait until after our 23 week scan just in case we do find out there.0

Can I ask for opinions...do you think this wallpaper could be gender neutral?

Hubby has his heart absolutely set on it and I actually really like it too but I can't get rid of the feeling that blue = boy. We want to do the baby's room gender neutral in case we get another one of the other flavour one day. Mind you,if I have a girl I don't by any means want to bring her up thinking that girls only wear pink and play with dolls. Girls can like pirates too! But...then I think back to what I was like as a little girl and how I longed for a pink princess room. I would have hated this wallpaper as a small child.
Any thoughts? I think I probably already know the answer...0 -
have to admit I do think it's very boyish, not so much the colour as I personally hate pink and won't have anything that colour, but for me it's the pirate ships which put me in the boy paper camp. Sorry!0

Well why don't you wait until today when you know what you are having? If it's a boy go for it. If you have a girl in the future, just re paper the wall?0

Yes I think that is probably the most sensible option...though he has double standards because if it is a girl, he won't let me have girly wallpaper!!0
