OH is going to paint something like this when we do our nursery. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/7392/00122inthejungle.jpg . Though I have no doubt that somehow he'll incorporate a football in there somehow! I like bright colours for children- OH fell for all the beigey bear stuff. It's taken a couple of months to break him
maybe just keep grinding down your oh Daisi?
I like the idea of M being from bond... She is as kick !!!!0 -
I liked all the beige at first but then I thought how is that stimulating for the baby? So I'm having bright colours. The nursery is going to be mainly lemon with some colour thrown In. I love that jungle picture
I've been watching videos of the fisher price jungle jumparoo on you tube, my baby is so having one of those for Xmas!

Because we're team yellow, we're having to go down the neutral route and I refuse to have anything yellow in the room! Don't know why, I'll wear it myself but I just hate it on kids so I won't have anything in the room either unless it's just in little splashes of colour.
We have a cot bumper and quilt which is Winnie the Pooh but it is white with a grey coloured pooh on it. I was thinking of just painting the walls a silver grey and then adding splashes of colour to it after that, that way I can pick different colours that would do either boy or girl and the silver grey won't dirty as easy as white or cream. Then again, I might just have a look in the loft at the endless tins of paint up there and see what I can come up with from that to start with!
I was actually looking at the mural wallpaper on ebay aswell but as it's a small room it might be overwhelming even on just one wall. Might have to go with stickers of some sort, easier to get off again than wallpaper. No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Thanks Daisiegg for the mothercare tip! I've now ordered my isofix base with £10 off - excellent. I'll be collecting as many of these codes as I can!! Definitely on a mission to try and get something off each purchase or at least the cheapest option on everything.
So far I've got my pebble car seat for £80 minus £50 voucher I had won = £30 plus £97.99 for the base. Moses basket for £40 reduced from £119 ( so they said...) from a bounty email offer and monitor for £90 reduced from £180 in asda baby event. Not bad going so far but need to keep it up!
Hope you find out sex at your scan and baby is behaving! I agree on the wallpaper, pirates very cute but also boyish!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
Ooh lovely jungle theme tcod! Our friend does murals and offered to do one for us when he was round last night :0)
I'm expecting something Disney themed if hubby has his way!Baby on board - EDD 29th Sept0 -
Good luck with the scan today Daisie! Hope the baby behaves and you can find out the sex. I had a little doppler session last night and found a strong loud heartbeat which is always nice. The baby seems to move after a while as you lose the heartbeat, but I think I also heard some other shuffling sounds which must be the movement sounds.
Also got my baby on board badge for the tube! I took it with me to work on Friday but was too self-conscious to use it. In the end I had to give up my seat to a pregnant lady as no-one else moved. I was so tired as well, but felt if I put on the badge suddenly I'd look like an idiot, and make the (much more) pregnant lady feel bad. So I stood. I seem to have picked up far too much british reserve!!
Picked up the Troll Crib I got on ebay today. Looks basically brand new which is fantastic. Paid £95 (normal price about £150) so not a MASSIVE bargain, but every little helps.0 -
I'm doing a London bus cross stitch with animals for the baby. Really enjoying it and can't wait to be able to finalise and put the name in! Plus I'm doing a quilt, but have lost interest in that for the moment. I'm sure it will be finished in time.0

Monty I've been hoovering up all the jungle fisher price stuff second hand off ebay and gumtree. So far I've got a bouncer, tummy time play mat and swing in it for £40. Looking for the jumparoo at a price that I can afford and I'll get the cot mobile too. Seriously- if the baby hates it I'll use it. I nearly vomited at how cute the giraffes are on it....
I thought it would be best to get something like that as hopefully (though the trauma getting to this point makes it a bit unlikely!) we'll have more kids and I doubt I would find out what we're having with them so it works for boys and girls. I really am not a fan of overly girly or overly boyish things- think it's from being a 'tomboy' growing up and constantly being given princessy type things when all I wanted was meccano, lego and tools for diy. If baby is a girl and chooses the whole pink thing then that's fine- I'll have to live with it but she won't be automatically getting it off me- my mum is a different story though....!
T2D- you really show me up for the lazy mare I am! I've had my moses basket fabric for ages now and the sewing machine is still lying unused under building detritus! *must be better*0 -
Ahhhh that's how I felt! It was the giraffes that got me! I am really girly but I don't want my baby being nothing but pink. I want it to look like a baby not a puffball0

We'd got blue and green bird wallpaper picked out, along with paint in cornflower blue, before we knew whether DS1 was a boy or girl! At 2 and a bit, he really couldn't care less what colour things are, so I wouldn't worry about boyish / girly too much. If this bump had been a girl, she would have had the same blue room and bedding until she got old enough to complain! I suspect they start noticing more around 3 or 4, based on my cousin's children.
We are all packed for our trip tomorrow, I think! DH's uncle's funeral firstthen off on our holidays. We're staying only about half an hour from our house for the holiday, but it's almost 2 hours each way for the funeral so we will be having quite a trek across country.
DS still isn't well - bad soggy poos - but slightly more cheerful today. He's on his third outfit already today thanks to poo leaks, so a bit worried that we won't have enough clothes for him!
We will have no internet connection until we get back on Friday, so I'll have lots to catch up on. Might try and pop back later though, to see what colour Daisie's bump is!0
