I bought three maternity tankinis on eBay, 2 are Next and one is Mothercare. All size 16 as I knew before I looked that my booty had grown again. One of them has a HUGE amount of space in the tummy area, might even still be too big by the time I need it in a few weeks time!No longer ...tobe! I have a maternity swinsuit from Boots which I bought new with tags on fleabay. I'm still in my normal suits at the moment. Sometimes I have a bump, but other times not so the bump is probably just a "food baby"
I've been really organised today and it's only just gone 9.
Had a dentist appointment first thing (making the most of my maternity exemption certificate) - all good, just a scrape needed!
Then I have checked and downloaded my P60 and firm's maternity leave policy and childcare voucher information and application forms.
I've checked and the changes to the childcare voucher scheme don't come in until late next year and it is worth applying for them as soon as you can after the birth to make sure you get the benefit of the tax rebate and also if you do apply whilst on maternity your employer pays you the vouchers even when you are on SMP or no pay at all.
:T
I've also worked out I have 80 working days left  until I go on maternity leave not including the holiday I have already booked (mainly long weekends here and there, but effectively I am going down to 3 days a week by using holiday at the end of September). I haven't decided when to take maternity leave, but still plan on leaving it as late as possible and using holiday if I want to start before. I still have around 4 weeks (based on a 4 day week) of holiday to take or use and really want to book a week off! I have so many long weekends and things I have to work around that it might be August until that happens!
Might do some work now!

Well done Lixi, how productive are you?! I have become utterly lazy since being signed off work. You have reminded me I also need to make a dentist appointment
have not been for aaaaages. Don't laugh, but I don't mind the dentist particularly but hate where my dentist is as it is a really windy country road drive there which is scary as you always have locals in 4x4s hurtling at you at a million miles an hour round the bends, and then where the dentist is it is really difficult to park and often requires squeezing into a tiny space on the road...which I can't do very well! Haha. I sound so pathetic. But that is why I put off going to the dentist! However you have spurred me on so I think I will phone up now and make an appointment...maybe. Or....maybe not!

Oh my, I have missed so much... have I been away so long lol. I have not actually been anywhere but my first trimester fatigue is creeping back and I have been making the most of it when I felt good
I went shopping at the weekend and picked up lots nursery stuff in M & P's reduced massively! I got the Made with Love girls range and picked up the curtains, tie backs, cot coverlet, blanket, fleece, dream pod, two canvasses, clock, borders, little toy, activity spiral and matching baby on board car thingy all for just over £120! Well chuffed and cannot believe I managed to get so much. I only need the mobile now. I am unsure about a bumper as we have a sleigh style cot with solid ends and not sure if they are designed/ will look right with a bumper?
Eeek, I only really have the pushchair to get now. My mum is buying and she is trying to convince me into getting a Stokke Xplory, but I can not justify the price tag even if it is not my money! The Quinny Moodd is second in the running which is not much cheaper but nothing else at all takes my fancy.

Just had a quick skim through.
Welcome to all the newbies
Daisi, did you have a gender scan? I may have missed it...
I, like you was totally convinced I was carrying a boy (for absolutely no reason at all) so it was a surprised to hear girl but happy all the same.
I can now imagine having two girls which probably means I will get a boy next!
I fully intend to breast feed (or at least express) I have bought a electic pump but I have also bought a steriliser and formula pots, so in the back of my mind I do not intend to always BF. I am glad to hear others say they will not be BF forever as I also feel selfish just thinking it haha.
I was also saying to my DH the other day how I hate being pg and do not know what these people who say they loved it are on! He was surprised and asked how I could feel so. Don't get me wrong, I can not wait to have my baby girl here but I am sure I am not on my own when I think pregnancy itself sucks!!0 -
I have to confess I don't enjoy being pregnant either. Like you, I am so excited for when the baby comes but pregnancy is not easy and I am kind of fed up with feeling rubbish and fat. Maybe it's one of those things you look back on afterwards with rose-tinted glasses?0

Today's appointment went well, I got to hear the heartbeat even though she says they don't normally do it just now as sometimes they cant find it at my stage but all was well and there it was thudding away. Joked it's nearly as fast as mine as mine seems to have risen a lot recently.
Some lovely ankles again tonight but no lying on the sofa for me with the feet raised above the heart as I'm off to a meeting. Yawn. Hubby thought he couldn't go so there would be nobody there from our club as I wasn't driving myself but turns out we're both going now. I just need to walk to his work to get him and no notion of doing that either!
Heyho, happy Wednesday everyone!No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
Hi everyone
Glad you got to hear the heartbeat Mrs C, it's so cool, I didn't realise they used the doppler at my 16 week appointment so it was a nice surprise.
I picked up my Emma's Diary Mum to be pack from Argos todayfree stuff!!! Plus, Mothercare was next door so we had a amble/waddle round. Don't think I'll get anything from there, but it gave me some ideas.
Also picked up a grobag thingy for £1 in a charity shop, perfect conditionFeeling really clucky today, I saw a man walking with his little girl earlier and thought "that'll be my OH soon", had a little cry. Hubby's worried the hormones are kicking in again (I got a bit shouty the last time)

I just spent quite an amusing hour with a friend and her two children, who are about 6 and 8 I think. They were full of interesting suggestions for baby names and then decided to change into onesies, stick cushions down their fronts and pretend to be giving birth to triplets! Very scary to think that I will have my own little person like that one day.
In the same vein tomorrow I am going to visit a colleague who has two month old twin girls. She was off sick for her entire pregnancy and I have not seen her since the babies were born. I am excited but scared about meeting them...it has been absolutely ages since I have been around a little baby and I think it is going to make everything feel just a bit too real! She told me a time to come so I can help with feeding time so at least that will be a bit of practice!
I had a little fainting spell earlier which was not very fun. According to dr google it is quite common in pregnancy. My blood pressure was pretty low at my last appointment (oddly enough, considering I am so overweight!) so maybe it is something to do with that. Has anyone else had anything like it?0 -
daisy I had a fainting spell on the train back from London not long back, put it down to rushing, not eating properly, standing on the train and possibly a touch of low blood pressure. It's been on the low side of normal every time they've tested it during this pregnancy.
this afternoon I've been feeling really grotty, terrible wind/indigestion, does anyone know if there's anything we can take.
think I felt a proper baby move today at work, definite ticking/ flutter feeling, but I'm still feeling that something is resting up against something inside me if you know what I mean but this feeling today was completely different.
my mum reckons I felt so bad today because baby was turning, she says when she was pregnant with me she used to need a day in bed about once a month because she felt so terrible on the day that I was turning. don't know how true/likely that is though.0
