The underside of both of my breasts are RED. Does anyone else have this? I've had it for weeks and thought it might get better when I got fitted for new bras but it's just getting worse. I'll mention it to my MW next time. I've googled it and don't think it's anything serious and it should go on its own after the birth.

23 weeks today :D something really strange happened lastnight, I was laying in bed with hubby watching tv and got a really sharp pain under my left rib where baby was kicking, so I turned onto my right side to try and move him and I rubbed the area under my rib and could feel the babys foot, it was sticking out I could feel it really clearly. Then husband felt there and he was like oh my god its a baby hahaha he could feel it too, think it's finally hit him that i'm pregnant now lol

Peonie I don't know how big you are but could you go bra-free or maybe wear some bras without underwire for a few days just to see if it gets better?

I just got back from seeing my friend with the 9 week old twin girls! They were utterly gorgeous, and it has made everything feel very real and scary. Although they are 9 weeks they are 7lbs and 8lbs so more newborn sized. At least I have got over my fear of handing a tiny baby, picking up, feeding, burping etc. I must say she was an excellent advertisement for the whole thing - her house was immaculate, she looked great, the babies were asleep when I got there, woke up, fed, burped, had cuddles, went back to sleep! (Though mind you one did do a poo on the changing mat) I feel very excited now that in 20 weeks or so I will have my own one of those! (Hopefully)

    Eeeeeeeek!

    Hi Ladies

I've read all the chat but can't remember a darn thing lol. I'm going to start swimming with Hubby soon but think I'll also look into aquanatal classes as well.

How has everyone gone about working out what's needed for the baby? It feels like such a stupid thing to say cos there's obviously the car seat, pram, moses basket, cot, nappies and clothes but what else do I need. I've gotten a checklist from M&P which I'll run down but I'm having a stupid stress that I have no idea what we're doing and aren't going to be ready and I've got at least 5 months to go :rotfl:

Heading off on the girlie weekend tomorrow morning and I can't wait. I may not be able to get drunk, go horse riding etc but I can bl**dy well enjoy myself :D. I might not be on here much over the weekend cos of this but I'll try.

  • Ali- I haven't used a list as such but I've thought of what's essential in my mind. I came to the following list by having a think about what was essential to me for the first 2 weeks where I might not want to go to the shops to pick stuff up. I also have a tight budget which has stopped me from going mad! Most of it is secondhand but I'll star what I've got new- anything new I've bought for safety reasons rather than I wanted to...
    1. *Joie chrome Pram system (carry cot, car seat, pram, isofix base and pram chasis) £280
    2. Cot bed, change table & drawers £100
    3. *Mattress for cot bed and moses basket £51
    4. *Reusable nappies & flannels for reusable wipes £90
    5. Swing, bouncer & playmat £40
    6. A few neutral baby clothes including sleep grobags in first size and 0-3 months. I'm staying team yellow so it's curbing both mine and my mum's ability to buy ALL the things! :) £30
    7. *6 bottles suitable from birth in case I can't BF. I don't intend to buy anything else for this as I'm hoping the boobs will oblige and allow me to save money from having to buy formula! £10.
    8. moses basket & stand £10

I still have to buy a baby monitor, blankets and a couple of toys (like a cot mobile etc.) They'll probably all be secondhand too. When I spoke to a friend who runs a baby shop she basically said the essentials are- the stuff you need to feed, a few outfits, nappies, something to move baby in that suits your ways of transport and somewhere for baby to sleep. She said the rest of it is non-essential but makes life easier... :)

I've probably forgotten something really obvious... If anyone can see anything essential that I've forgotten please let me know! :)

    Enjoy your weekend!

Someone please smack me round the chops and make me do my presentation... It has to be in tomorrow... ARGH!
  • practically 18 weeks for me Daisi  It feels weird to having this internal countdown to an event that will irretrievably change my life! :D Having a baby is big isn't it.... (like I said a few days ago- it's only just sinking in that it's happening!)

lilmiss I have to admit I've not really enjoyed many aspects of my pregnancy so far.
Just thrown up again, bloomin' constipation, I'm off to the specialist hospital next week and will mention it to them and see if I'm right and what I can do other than the lactulose.
I had to move the contents of my desk today, and bring my triffid plant home, tummy muscles are aching because no one offered to help me move stuff, other than the pc which ict had to move. I've also moved to an even smaller desk with barely enough space for me to actually have any paperwork on it to do some work. To say I ended up grumpy is an understatement. also was another set to about windows being shut when it was freezing inside the office, to say that today I could have just sat and cried with even one gram extra provocation is an understatement!
