Interesting! Agree about the door bouncer. We had one briefly, realised we have quite narrow doorways, it took a person either side to stop DS crashing into the door frame. Really didn't work. Though our childminder has one and he loved it!

Under their 'most useful' section - well we never had a baby monitor and didn't miss it! DS can shout loudly enough for us to hear him :)

I got asked today what size of fruit or veg baby was at now. I had no idea, I should look it up :)

Think I'll stick to her name (fingers crossed they got the sex right) which is Arya (hubby loves Game of Thrones and I'm quite musical, so there's a discussion as to Aria/Arya atm). We used "Meeple" up to the scan, from the board game "Carcasonne".

I'm heartburn central over the last week, so I'm having an indian for dinner, might as well embrace it!

Mine is half way between a carrot and a spaghetti squash today. I have no idea what size a spaghetti squash is, and with an allotment we do get quite a variety of carrot sizes too....

    Arya's a lovely name GeekPetite :)

Today I ordered a maternity swim suit but in the size above my pre-pregnancy size. I don't know if I've done the right thing or not. My size confidence was knocked after trying on maternity shorts in H&M. I ended up buying a pair 2 sizes up. I know I should not take any notice of their sizes but considering how much I've grown in the last 2 weeks I'm concerned about the mat trousers I've already got not fitting me. I want to get a pair of leggings, some t-shirts and maternity nighties (for the birth) then I should have all the clothes I need. My friend very generously gave me some of her maternity clothes.

I'm trying a new body oil but the lady in the shop said the itching is from my skin stretching and as it's too try. She suggested putting a moisturising creme over the oil. Has anyone else poured their oil into a spray bottle? My oil seems to get everywhere.

T2D I think I also felt some feint movements/bubbles last night.

  • We've had a nickname for our baby since the off. It basically wanted two dogs and wanted to call them by two cartoon characters names. OH refused so when I found out I was pregnant he got no choice and one of the cartoon characters names stuck. We went to Italy skiing the day after BFP and the name got italianised in its honour. :)

Mrs C- I have a retroverted uterus- it's apparently not a big deal at all. I've had all sorts of gynae's rooting around up there and the only things I've ever been told about it and pregnancy is: 1. often the weight of developing baby will bring the uterus forward so it isn't retroverted at birth- but will go back that way after birth. 2. if this doesn't happen then some women find they may have a 'back' labour which is apparently a bit more painful (but it can happen with a anteverted uterus too) or they may get a few more back niggles during pregnancy. 3. about 20% of women have a retroverted uterus so it's pretty common and isn't something that's expected to cause problems. :)

Went to my daisy class before and embarrassingly fell asleep during the relaxation session at the end. When the tutor woke me up I realised I'd drooled on the pillow. The shame of it!

I can definitely feel a lot more movement, especially in the last week. Yesterday baby kicked the ipad while I was resting it on my belly- clearly got in its way! I wasn't expecting to see external movements because of the anterior placenta but it was amazing and I'm excited for when OH can feel it. It's very active at night, after vimto (my only 'craving' if you can call it that- mainly because I've gone off everything else!) and if I've had something sugary. Feeling it now compared to a couple of weeks ago is amazing- it's definitely the same feeling just a lot stronger as obviously it's bigger now. I'm starting to believe that it's all real now! :)
  • Peonie, the daisy classes are sort of stretching based. I wouldn't say it was yoga but some of the movements are similar. There's more of an emphasis on breathing techniques, rotation moves that help get baby head down (I rotate to dilate...), relaxation techniques and gentle stretches to open up your pelvis. If it's yoga you're after I'm not sure it would fit the bill but I do recommend it as a nice way to relax, visualise what's to come and learn stuff that might help you through it... :)

I need to buy a maternity swimsuit- where did you get yours? I got my mat jeans from H&M and was pleasantly surprised I fit into jeans from there as I've never fitted into their normal jeans before. Convinced myself it was because I'm clearly skinny now (delusional- yes) but think the comfy mummy tummy band is more likely to be the real reason... :) I've not really bought many mat clothes- got 3 pairs of jeans, some vests, a blouse and a dress. I wasn't planning on buying anything unless I couldn't fit in what I have but I fear that ebay is calling me as I'm already deathly bored of my mat stuff and I think I will need to succumb to a couple of dresses and pairs of shorts for the summer.

Apparently I have a retroverted uterus too. No one seems to be worried about it. I was told they normally tilt forward with the pressure from the baby and then go back, as tcod says.

How many weeks are you tea? Very jealous of visible kicking!

    Hey ladies

Good to hear all is well Sewit. You haven't had it easy.

No nickname for the bump for us yet. I'm waiting until the 20 week scan for that.

I've had a horrible stuffiness for what feels like weeks. Don't know if it's pregnancy or just me picking up bugs from hanging out with boy and other kids. Wish it would bog off anyway. Bizarrely I am a little sensitive to salt at the moment too. I think it is because I am still drinking tea and perhaps not enough water? I don't have much tea though and it is difficult to give it up. I'm trying!

Monty that is so nice to read about how you felt about wanting kids etc :o hope you feel better now.

I think I have probably lost a couple of pounds since getting pregnant as I was off food and vomiting every day for 3 weeks or so. It's only the last week or so that I have an appetite back. I'm not bothering to weigh myself though. Last time I was pregnant a midwife weighed me plus 30 weeks and told me my bmi was 26 and I should "watch that". I just looked at her. As if!

I am definitely feeling movement and have been for a few weeks. It varies massively and sometimes I don't feel anything in a day. I had a proper boot in my belly last night and tonight though! I think I'm more in tune with my body this time. Also as it's my second pregnancy I reckon my uterus is closer to the surface rather than buried under intestines!
