Good luck today Robots!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -
Just popping in quickly to say good luck to Robots for your scan today!

Thanks for the well wishes
I must admit I'm nervous.
Due to the genetic testing someone somewhere already knows baby's sex, which is weird. We don't want to know, there's so few nice surprises in life. Plus we are going nature themed, with cream, green etc, so choosing initial clothes & nursery stuff is gender-neutral anyway! Please forgive the badly spelt alias... Hi ladies
just wanted to say good luck for your scan robots I hope it goes well for you, also I admire your restraint for going team yellow!
We haven't told many people or made an announcement. Close family and friends know and people we work with but DH put it well when he said it was almost a bit embarrassing telling people almost like "so the wife and I had s3x without contraception about 3 months ago and got ourselves knocked up" Also I don't like being the centre of attention! I have taken the step of telling the building gossip who I'm quite good friends with as I thought he'd spread the news for me and save me the trouble lol.
Hugs to all

Delurking to say i empathise with your DH. When i told my grandparents i was pregnant i didnt feel like i was telling them we were expecting a baby, i felt like i was telling them we have had sex lol.

Agree Cllola, and they could also guess when you had sex depending on your due date.
Hope the scan went well RobotsTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."Official DFW Nerd 1365

Hehe I was embarrassed about the sex thing too
Just bought some tickets for the baby show off fleabay :j Excited! We are getting things mostly second hand, but not the pram. I'm looking forward to trying out a few and maybe getting a good deal if possible. It still feels a bit early to buy things but it's just down the road and all the different models will be in one place.

Hi all,
Lurking for news from Robots. Hope everything went well!
I remember a conversation about weight a page or so ago - Does anyone know how much weight we're "supposed" to gain when we're pregnant? I'm up by around 2.5 - 3 kg now (at nearly 19+ weeks) after losing weight to start with. I'm not particularly worried or anything, and I expect that "recommendations" will vary from person to person - just wondered if anyone had found a guideline?

it's so pretty though isn't it? ours has gone up in the loft now as we don't really have room to store it!
What colour pack did you go for?
I got grape for the buggy & pink for the carry cot.0 -
Hi everyone, thank you for the very welcome well wishes.... All is fine!
I'm so relieved.
Baby was lying with head to my right, feet to my left, in a 'being cradled' positionit was great to get such a good view. And I found the measuring process really interesting... Leg bones, spine... But baby was not entirely cooperating, she couldn't get a good view of the heart, kidneys and lip.
So I had a walk around, drank 2 cups of cold water and ate 2 squares of cadburys caramelthen after rolling around on the table a bit baby was in a better position
so she got all the measurements and kept repeating "lovely" & "perfect" all the time
Baby is bang on for my dates, and we got 5 lovely different photos (so much better than last time). I'm so happyPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0
