  • iv booked my antenatal classes, my midwife told me to after my 20 week scan. she gave me the number to ring and they're held at a children's centre near me, they're in May. sorry if that's not much help plantpot!

it can be hard to get work to listen to you, iv also been told I can't have any bigger/maternity uniforms because there's no money in the budget, it's stupid isn't it! make sure you get a proper risk assessment, I had to ask for mine quite a few times, I'm pretty sure they're breaking the law if they don't do one x

  • Robots - glad things worked out well with the consultant. Here's hoping you carry on seeing that one!

AFM - we had a mad dash to the EPU at the weekend. Short version: Everything's fine. TMI alert: I "passed" something solid and pinkish when I went to the loo a day or two ago. Cue panic! Went to the EPU, where they checked vitals and reassured me. Then got the doppler out to listen for baby's heart beat. It took about 15 seconds I think to find it (longest 15 seconds ever!) but it was there and all is fine. They don't know what happened, but as far as they can tell me and bump are both fine, and it hasn't happened again since then. Panic over...

Has anyone else not really "come out" about being pregnant yet? We've told close family and very close friends (semi-distant family don't know yet, and we've only told close friends if we've seen them), and I've told my line manager at work, but that's about it! The rationale was that because we know the pregnancy carries higher-than-average risk, we didn't want to say anything in case it all went wrong. But I'm over 19 weeks now, and it's becoming rather obvious! I think I'd rather tell people before they could tell by looking, but not sure how/when to go about it. How did everyone else decide? Or if you haven't yet, do you know when/how will you will tell people?

    Any thoughts?

Hope all's well in your respective corners!

    Bumblebee x

    Thanks bumble, me too!

I'm glad your scare turned out ok in the end. Did they have any idea what you passed? Sounds do scary so I'm glad you're fine and do is baby.

I'm 21 +1 and most people I know don't yet know. Parents were told around 6 weeks, then a couple of close friends, then husbands company just before Xmas. We meant to tell everyone after 12 week scan but it was Xmas so told family as we saw them... Then bad results meant we clammed up again. Que a month later and we told a few close friends... Then it felt that we'd been a little unavoidably rude to those that didn't know, and what with feeling a little uneasy still, we decided to wait until after the 20 week scan... Which is on this wed!

After it's all ok, fingers crossed, I will phone my step nan to tell her, and step aunt ( I'm the only one on this side of the family that talks with them! So on my dad's side only he knows.)

So that's a very long winded way of saying nope, not everyone knows yet! :rotfl: I do feel I'm now showing, though I'm still I'm my pre-pregnancy jeans sometimes.

bought the pram, carrycot attachment, car seat and car seat base today :D went for the babystyle oyster. I'm so chuffed, it's lovely, just had great fun getting it out pushing it round and practicing how to put it up and down hehe.

dead happy, it all feels real and our list of stuff we need to buy is getting smaller :)

    21+4

yay :) that's me you and claire 16c with the same now :) it's so pretty though isn't it? ours has gone up in the loft now as we don't really have room to store it!

robots I watched 2 episodes of one born every minute on my night. shift the other week, one was a 'difficult' birth and I wished I hadn't watched it afterwards because it stressed me out a bit. but some episodes are okay! my OH has watched a few with me to get him prepared ha!
