Hi ladies. After my early scan at 7 weeks I was referred back to my GP. I had already made an appointment with the midwife though to book me in as I wanted to get my maternity exemption card early so I could get more progesterone. Both times the clinic prescribed progesterone until I was 10 weeks.

  • Thanks skaps, good to know! I have my scan this Friday - I'm nervous and excited in equal measures. Did your partner join you in the room when you were having the scan done?
The clinic told me I didn't need any more progesterone after BFP which I thought was a bit weird as almost everything I've read on websites and other forums suggest most people take it for at least 10 weeks. Will just trust the clinic have their reasons though, plus I can't complain about not having to keep using those pessaries!
  • Thank you ellesbelles and skaps!

I have had a read online and I see will have to self refer to midwife, thank goodness there's an online service! Wondering whether to book a doctors appt for after the scan??

Kate how are you feeling? Best of luck at the scan tomorrow :)

    Xxx
  • Hi Lily
All I had to do was make an appt with midwife.. didn’t see her until 10 weeks!
You shouldn’t need to see a doctor unless you get referred by midwife to consultant led care.. I had to as I had twins xx

Hi kate hope the scan went well. Sorry yes my husband did come in to the scan room with me and we got a little picture too.

Lily my GP signed the maternity exemption form and then made me see the nurse to book me in for maternity services. This was actually before my early scan.

  • Scan went well yesterday, thanks! It was such a relief to see it on the screen and helped me to feel more confident that it is real! We got a little picture too which is now on the fridge. I wasn’t sure if it would be weird for my husband to come in too as I had done all the previous scans alone, but I’m so glad he was there to see it too.

    Hi all
Just wanted to let you all know that I had a baby girl on Sunday at 1.03am. We have named her Anara which means princess of peace, powerful and complete. I was able to have a natural birth after having an emergency c section last time. I feel so blessed to have my daughter and thank u all for your love and support xxx

  • Wonderful news skaps, congratulations! Glad to hear the birth went well, what a beautiful name. Hope all goes well for you xx
  • Congratulations skaps! Hope you and Anara are well

Had my scan today & saw lil ferret's heart beating, I felt like crying! Got given 5 weeks worth of pesseries and suggested I refer to GP/midwife. Will fill in the midwife form later this evening.

    Still feels surreal!

    Hope everyone is ok x
