  • Sounds great Choc, everything crossed for you!

Went to the fertility clinic last week and they were great and lovely as always. They have told us to start again when we are ready and go back after 6 months if nothing is happening. Then we have got our appointment through to meet the specialist at the hospital to go through the plan for if / when we do get pregnant again. Have loads of questions to ask, written them down so I don't forget, so think we will be in there a while!

Just going to get through Bens due date...and my sisters imminent arrival...then decide what to do then. Terrified is not a good enough word, how do we cope trying again when the last time ended in heartbreak? Any words of wisdom very welcome!

Hope you all have a good weekend ladies x

Hi all. I've started taking the long protocol ivf. This is the last time for us and I'm honestly terrified especially because I know what it's all about now. Got to go in for a scan on the 2nd February so am guessing after that I'll stop the pill. Can anyone tell me anything about this part as I haven't done long protocol before. Last time I did the short.
    Thanks in advance.
Have a good weekend everyone xxx

  • Tam I have no advice, it's a horrible and heartbreaking situation to be in. We found out I had had a MMC at around 10 weeks in, so by no means can I relate to what you went through, but I do know the feeling of being utterly heartbroken and devastated. It took a good few months before I could think about it again and mentally prepare myself, but the overwhelming feeling of wanting a child of our own means I'm prepared to put myself through it again in the hopes that this time we're lucky. Only you can decide if and when you're ready

Skaps have you been given a timetable or anything yet? The first cycle I had which had to be cancelled after egg collection seemed to last forever, I think from starting the drugs to DR to EC took 6-8 weeks. This time round I'm doing FET, I started DR on the 9th, scan yesterday, now on oestrogen, scan booked on the 4th and all being well ET will be on the 11th. So less than 5 weeks from start to finish for FET as long as everything goes to plan!

Sorry I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to send you all hugs and best wishes. It's such a rubbish thing to have to deal with but we will all end up stronger for it, whatever happens.

Thanks all. No no timetable. I'm guessing it depends on the scan and when I can get off the pill. Xxx

  • Afternoon ladies, hope you are all well :)

Not much to report here, on the 6th day of climaval now and seem to have constant headaches with it so works becoming a bit of a struggle, finding it difficult to concentrate. Ended up with a migraine yesterday so had to go for a lie down as soon as I got home to try and shift it. At least now I'm on a reduced dosage of buserelin the side effects from that have eased a little.

For the ladies who've done FET can you let me know how many embryo's they thawed? I think we have 4 so do they just take them out 1 at a time and hope they are ok, or take more than 1 etc.

Choc I had 2 frozen so I had them both thawed. Don't know if they do one at a time or both.
