AFM, we had another blow yesterday...my AMH results came back at 6.3... they would expect to see an AMH of 20 at my age :( So my ovarian reserve is massively below where it should be - it is at the low end of someone aged 35-39 - I am 31! The lap and dye is still next step but looks like IVF will be biggest hope xxx

Mine came back at either 4.3 or 4.5 and I was told that was more in line with someone who was 40 (I’m 33). I’m absolutely gutted as well, but as we have been trying for almost 10 years it’s highly likely that it was much much higher when we started trying so it doesn’t explain our lack of success.

Our consultant said with an AMH of 4.3/4.5 that we literally have no time to waste and if we waited another 6 months for IVF the chance of success would have decreased even further (already it’s only about 25%). Unfortunately we aren’t eligible for any help with it until another 6 months.

    Hi Cyantist,
Thanks so much for telling me about this - I don't understand why you aren't eligible for any help when you have been trying for so long though, I thought it would be 3 years of trying?

Another unsuccessful month for us :(

I'm trying really hard not to let it get to me as much this year, it's sort of my resolution. I just find it so hard to do normal things like sit through meetings at work when I feel so empty. I just want to scream and cry and hide away, not talk to people about unimportant things!

I'm staying away from pilates tonight as I can't face pretending to be normal even though it would probably take my mind off it.

Sorry for moaning, I know I'm not the only one. DH tries to understand but he's just not as bothered.

    Janey x

  • Ah Janey big hugs XXXX I had CD1 yesterday too - and even though I know it's going to be nothing short of miraculous if it happens naturally, I still was hoping!
Be kind to yourself... have a lovely bath and some chocolate :) Put a film on and have cuddles with your OH.
Also, it's hard to "Not let it get to you." and it's ok to wallow in it...always here to listen, Elles xx

Thanks elles. Sorry to hear about CD1.

I know it's OK to wallow, but I felt like last year was an ordeal. Also my job is so full on I don't feel like I can cope. I want to try and keep a more positive outlook this year even if the situation is the same.

I'm feeling more positive than when I posted before. I've been looking into things and I might not have loads and loads of eggs but they aren't that old and quality really is better than quantity so at 31 you're in a really good position.

We were eligible and had all the tests a few years ago, as well as IUI. But we moved to a new area and you need to have been registered with a local doctor for a year to be eligible, and we've only been registered for 6 months. We have an appointment with our doctor to appeal this though so maybe they'll be nice to us.

Hi everyone's, thanks for the lovely welcome and advice.

I had my 21 day bloods done last week and oh has done a sperm sample. I've got an appointment for the results this week.

Cd1 again in the mean time. Oh seems to take it harder than me nowadays. I hate telling him af has arrived again!
