Hi all, a quick update from me.
Had a letter through from our consultant today following the chromosome testing both of us had 4.5 weeks ago - results now in and everything is normal so apparently that it promising.
Still doesn't explain why we've lost 5 babies over 3 pregnancies but we just have to keep trying for pregnancy number 4 and get onto the aspirin, progesterone and steroids this time - then keep everything crossed.

Gelly, good news on the test results. Like you said it doesn't explain the miscarriages, but its one less thing to be floating in the back of your mind. Hoping you get your magic sticky one soon xx0

Just a quick update, scan this morning looked fine, they said the lining of my womb was nice and thin and my ovaries looked OK so I start my Stims tomorrow. Scan on Tuesday to check things are starting to work and to see if I need my dosage adjusting then another scan a week Friday which I'm guessing is to check whether everything's OK for egg collection the following week?New House... That's good to hear chocoholic! Your timeline sounds very similar to mine when I've had IVF - scan on Tues, scan the following Tues (day 7), then scan on Fri (day 10).
You're right, by the Fri scan they should be able to give you an idea of when they'll do EC. My first time, EC was the Monday (with the trigger shot on Sat night), second time around I had another scan on the Monday with EC on the Thursday (trigger shot on the Tues night). It just depends how well all the follicles are growing really!xxx

Chocoholic_chick thank you for that time line (and pinkteapot), from the looks of it I'm looking about 6 months at least before things really get going then. Good news on your scan - good luck!
Vesper thats terrible news on your house news - dont know how some people can live with themselves screwing others over like that. Good luck with the new house hunt!
Frozenpenguin thank you for the welcome. Not sure where I go on the lists... awaiting tests I suppose? Thank you!
Well OH has been good, got himself off to the doctors with his reg forms and is due to see a nurse on Monday, so fingers crossed he can get a doctors appointment soon after that for SA referral (although nervous of the expected wait!)
Still trying to get to grips with some of the acronyms on here so will try to familiarise myself with everyones journey0 -
I'll pop you on the 'awaiting tests' bit 159
and I've got a list of acronyms which I shared with Elephant (who I know outside the forum, we're at the same clinic) - I'll post them on here in a bit xxx

ICSI - Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection
IF - Infertility
IUI - Inter Uterine Insemination (IVF, ICSI and IUI all tend to come under the umbrella heading of IVF so when people or society talk about having IVF, it doesn't necessarily mean they've had IVF as a treatment, they could have had ICSI or IUI instead)

Smug fertile - you know the ones, people who show off on Facebook or rave about how wonderful being a parent is or ask insensitive questions like "when are you going to start a family then?"
SP - Short protocol
Stims - Stimulation drugs
SW - Social worker
TBH - To be honest
TLP - Tiny little positive (a feint line on a pregnancy test, usually what you get if you are pregnant but you test a bit earlier than you should)
TMI - Too much information
TTC - trying to conceive
Trigger - the trigger shot, the injection you give yourself 36 hours before the egg collection
1 x 5d ET - translates as 1 embryo transferred in a 5 day embryo transfer procedure (sometimes people will have a 2 or 3 day embryo transfer and then in the equation, the 5 will just be replaced with a 2 or 3; equally sometimes people will have more than one embryo transferred so the 1 will be replaced as well)
1dp5dt - translates as '1 Day Past a 5 Day embryo Transfer' (or however many days it was, either a 2, 3 or 5 day embryo transfer). The ‘days past’ bit will obviously increase each day until you get your (fingers crossed) BFP.
Anything I've missed ladies? Feel free to add in anything extra0 -
So DH had his appt for his SA this morning. Didn't have much of a dealing with staff as I literally checked him in at reception and then sat looking pretty on a sofa ( a very comfy sofa I may add ) while he did his 'jerk in a jar' in the designated room for jerking!
I was going to enjoy a hot chocolate at this point but the machine looked very confusing and I didn't want to look silly in front of everyone in the waiting room!!
Maybe frozenpenguin could explain to me how to use it so I don't look silly next time ;-)
Now just to wait a week for our appt with the consultant, all very scary now, i left the clinic earlier feeling all sorts of emotions and all I did was sit on the comfy sofa and take in the surrounding and pretend to read a magazine while really I was just thinking so this is the fertility clinic and I am actually here.0
