Hope your days have been better and you're getting on okay chocoholic, when's your first scan? xx
pink - those dino shoes are awesome! (or possibly roarsome)xx
Hope everyone's doing okay, did anyone get a good view of the eclipse? I nicked DH's welding helmet and I think pretty much everyone in our office had a go with it. When the clouds eventually parted, it was quite impressive!
As for FET matters, started Provera on Tuesday and DR-ing yesterday, got to wait for AF to show and then ring the clinic to book in for a scan (which hopefully will be after our holiday over Easter). If you're interested as well, on me blog I also wrote a bit of a roundabout rant/musing about Mother's Day and infertility but also included some links to helpful websites and stuff (including this thread) -

ETA: not sure why MSE have removed the link as they're nothing personal on there (or at least nothing more than what all us girlies have already shared on here! Anyway if you want to find it, look at my profile pic on the left, take the animal and add "in a dress" into a search engine then just look through my posts to find it))

Fantastic blog frozenpenguin, it's like you have read my mind and typed it up for me!
Not getting much work done today, with the disappointing eclipse and now reading that, should just write today off!0 -
I'm doing much better now thanks, just work stresses and somehow found myself having to sit in the waiting area of the ante-natal clinic at a hospital, surrounded by pregnant ladies while a friend had a scan. Not where I wanted to be at all!
I've got my first scan on Tuesday so fingers crossed everything will look OK so I can start stims. Feel like I've been DR for ages now! Are you on buserelin too frozenpenguin?New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Aww thanks Tam
I just let my thoughts ramble and then tried to put it in some kind of coherent order, I'm glad you like it xx
Chocoholic - glad it's a bit better but it's absolutely carpy having to be in the scan area xx
We had to do it for a few appointments a couple of years ago. Our clinic were moving to new premises and the hospital had shoved the reproductive medicine part into the ultrasound scan clinic, we weren't very impressed but having said that, neither were the fertility clinic staff! They'd put in their own complaints and encouraged all of us patients to complain as well (which we did of course)
I'm on buserelin as well, but the sniffer rather than the injections - one squirt four times a day!
Not long now to wait til your scan as well! Exciting times ahead! xx0 -
Hi All,
I hope you dont mind be stopping by. I did post a couple of times of the TTC thread (a few years ago now ) and have read back through this thread which is a great help.
I'm 30 in a few weeks and stopped taking the pill mid 2012 and so far no joy making a baby. Because of my partner and I were having a few personal/family difficulties taking up most of our 'free' time in the last couple of years we put off seeking help for TTC.
Well today, I took the first step and went to see my doctor. I
was only in there a matter of minutes after being told they wont start any tests etc on me until my OH gets tested and they can rule him out. Do you find this is standard procedure?
I left a bit upset. Doctor was also a bit abrupt with me and made me feel 'silly' for waiting so long to see him.
There is no problem with OH getting tested but he is not registered at the same practice as me which they now want him to do. This means getting time to return the forms and present his i.d (which the practice asks to be done between 12 - 2pm only), then seeing a nurse to get registered before then getting to see a doctor for the intial chat to get referred for sperm analysis. All needing to be fitted in with a full time job.
Sorry, I've gone off on a bit of a rant there, just feel a bit upset thinking about timeframes etc.
If you made it through that lot of waffle (thank you!), I suppose what I'm asking is - Can I insist testing is started on me in the meantime i.e at least a blood test?
Having read back through this thread it seems like you are a lovely bunch of ladies (especially enjoyed the T-Rex pictures!) and like you have a good 'community' on the go here so very greatful for any views/opinions/advice :beer:0 -
Hi 159 *waves*
We were at different GP practice's all through treatment and it was never a problem. I can see it kind of makes sense to test the male early on as it's a pretty easy test lol. But you'd think they could at least be doing 7dpo bloods for you too.
Is it worth your OH speaking to his GP? Maybe they'd be more helpful.0 -
Hi 159!
I was the same after our first appointment, like 'is that it?!', but it does makes sense to get OH tested first as it the easiest thing to rule out and saves you going through gnarly tests if it's a problem on his side.
Bit frustrating to have to sort registering him to the same doctors, but if it speeds things up and makes it easier in any way then it has to be worth it. One of the most frustrating things in this whole process is waiting for paperwork and notes to get to different people, so it might be a pain now but will be worth it in the long run!
Sorry you have to join us, but welcome! x0 -
Thanks for the welcome and speedy replies TamVilla80 and Tea Lover
Will have to start the nagging to the OH to get him to the GP as soon as possible (is it just my OH that is IMPOSSIBLE to get anywhere or to do anything?!)
I know deep down it makes sense to do the 'easiest' test first, just frustrated there isnt something I can be doing in the meantime...
Will get on OH's case tonight and let you know how I get on
I am quite a patient person in general but think waiting around for appointments/tests/dates will prove trying.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend :beer:0
