Hi guys :-) so me and the DH have come to Newquay for the week to get away from things before it all gets very manic! Had a phone call from my mum saying I had post, asked her to open it and it seems my DH has an appt 24th March for a sperm analysis and then a further appt on the 31st to see our consultant. What exciting letters to go back to on Sunday.
Again many mixed emotions but kinda relieved that our consultant on the 31st is my gynae consultant at he hospital too! So relief that I already know him. ( and he's seen everything before :-P )0 -
That's great Elephant, appointments take ages to come through, I'm rubbish at waiting too! Good that its the same consultant. I am still quite early on in our journey but feel like I have seen so many people!!!!
I went for my ultrasound this morning, Im a bit thrown if im honest.
I had to have a full bladder but because of the abdominal paid I have been having it was sooooo painful, I had to go a bit as I could hold on! Went in and had the scan externally but she was struggling to see what she needed as my bladder was so full. She asked me to go and empty my bladder and then she did an internal ultrasound (Now that was an experience!!!) It was really interesting to see my womb etc on the screen. She found no issues with my ovaries and the only thing to note was a small amount of "free fluid" which she said could be an infection but if as I had had a urine test come back clear then it wouldn't be. And also she said to mention to my doctor that although I had been to the toilet and felt like I had emptied my bladder when she did the internal ultrasound I still had quite a full bladder.
So I need to make a follow up doctors appointment but so far have no idea why I am having the abdominal pain.......:-( I was sure it was a cystRecently married and loving it x0 -
nightsky - how long have you had the pain for? Have you ever had any other tests/investigations (eg. exploratory laporoscopy?)
What you said about your bladder really struck a chord with me. I've got endo and haven't been able to fully empty my bladder for years due to adhesions. It also means that when I need to go it can be painful, but the worst pain is after I've gone (I think when the bladder shrinks back it pulls on the adhesions, if that makes sense).
Because I can't fully empty my bladder I tend to get a lot of UTIs.
Generally endo won't show up on u/s.
There can be quite a lot if misinformation about endo within medical circles - it's often seen as 'just' painful periods. The average time for diagnosis is something like 8-10 years. The pain doesn't have to be at certain times of the month, and isn't necessarily where you'd expect. Some other symptoms are back pain, pain during/after sex, fatigue. Just wondered if it was something that had ever been mentioned to you?
Obviously I'm not giving medical advice here - just sharing my experience0 -
I had one of those, they really are delightful aren't they?! Hope they get you sorted Nightsky.
Random question but is your pain in the middle or to the side, and is it always in the same place? I had really hideous pain in my left hip for nearly two years (would literally be doubled up in pain, like someone stabbing me - was convinced I was about to peg it!) Had an op in August last year and they removed a couple of average cysts and a small bit of endo - surgeon said sometimes the large ones can not be very painful and the smaller ones can be evil. Think it just depends where they are (although I was in recovery and still off my head on the happy drugs when he told me this, so I could be making it up, haha)
Good news on your appointment Elephant, hope you are enjoying a relaxing holibobs now0 -

Elephant glad you got your appointment through, now go and enjoy your holiday!
Nightsky sorry you didn't get the answers you were after
Well AF has finally showed up and oh my gosh it's a killer this month!! Feel absolutely dreadful with it, the cramping is unrealNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Nightsky - by the time you get a bit further along you'll have lost count of the amount of people who've seen your bits (so far my total is 5 doctors/consultants, 12 nurses and 2 embryologists - and the nurse total includes every single one of them who works at our clinic
) xxx
chocoholic - how are you getting on? Were you given anything to induce AF along with the DR injections? I've always started DR on day 21 but also had to start Provera on day 19 to make sure AF arrives (although even then, the first time it came 2 days after the end of the drugs, the second time it came 10 days-ish later). If I were you, I think I'd give the clinic a ring, see what they have to say. xxx
Elephant - excellent news on the appointment date but darn frustrating you have to wait til Sunday to read everything! The 31st will come round in no time at all. Enjoy the rest of your holiday! xxx
Shrimpy - ah that's carpy about the HSG, I hope your FS finds some answers. xxx
Hugs to you all and - Friday tomorrow! :j :j xxxx0 -
chocoholic - glad AF is finally here! (I was just thinking about you (not in a stalkerish way I promise) hence the cross-posting) Sorry it's so carpy though xxx0
-
So true FP - I literally have no idea how many people have had a rummage around down there :rotfl:.0
-
Frozenpenguin - We must have posted at the same time
They hadn't given me anything to induce AF, they just said to expect to have a bleed and that some have more than one. I'm finding the whole thing a lot easier than I thought though, the first few days were horrid, but I think my body has got used to things a bit more and now it's just tiredness and the occasional hot flush. I'm booked in to have my scan on the 24th and all being well I start my stims then
