I didn't think that sort of private health care with work allowed IVF either, but apparently hubby's does. But have to wait so long for that bit to kick in. The health care covers everything for the both of us.
His work are really good about looking after their longer term workers and the higher up staff.
He got offered the night time promotion at work, its not ideal due to the night shifts however there was no way he could say no to the money. The starting wage is above what either of us could imagine, and goes up after 6 months and again at a year. It really is life changing money wise. We might finally be able to think about buying our own home. We have had such a bad time in the last 2 years, and is fantastic news especially as his car died last week and he isn't sure if its worth repairing at the moment.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Aww vesper. So chuffed for you. This thread doesn't get it's fair share of good news.
All - PM me if you'd like the IVF Belief CD (free) and I'll pop it in the post.0 -
I know, this thread deserves so much more luck. My xmas wish is that we all get our happy ever afters.
I am just so impatient for my next appointment now, it's like we have had all of the tests and I just want to get going at something. I hate not being to do anything useful.
Looks as though we may be moving soon, OH wants to be nearer his work as he has a long drive at the moment and with going on nights he doesn't want to be driving a long distance after a long shift. It won't make any difference to me as I am self employed and where he wants to move to is the same distance to my stockist as now.
It's not far away enough to make a difference to seeing my friends or anything, but its going to be in a town I am not that keen about.
However the rent is cheap there and the place he's thinking of us moving to has all the bills included, and it would mean that when his wage goes up we can save the large majority of our wages to go towards a deposit on a house. We should be able to get some sort of deposit together within a year.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
Ooh vesper that all sounds so exciting. It sounds like the less than ideal place could be a possibility if you know you have a long term plan in place. Congrats to your OH, you must be so proud of him.0

I really am proud of him Tea. It is amazing how much different he has become in a year.
A year ago (even 6 months ago) I though that was it for us. He lost his job just before xmas last year and that resulted in months of hell as we didn't have enough money to cover the bills. He became a nightmare to get on with and it resulted in us nearly separating, as he just didn't want to know anymore. But since he got his new job he has become a different person, its like they have finally tapped his potential and given him a chance. They gave him the opportunity to prove he could do a job where as most people in his position have to have degrees.
This job proves that he can do as well as someone that is highly educated. I am so so proud of him, the badness last year has resulted in this. If he hadn't lost his job he would still be in dead end job with no prospects.
He is coming home exhausted but he's happy.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -
All sounds fab, vesper. It'll be good to rent in the town. If it's better than you think, you may even end up buying there! If not, while based there you can explore the other towns/villages near it. And it'll be fine while renting because you'll be thinking about how much more quickly your deposit is building up.0
