    *waves sheepishly*

Hi everyone. :) I went a bit AWOL after our IVF BFN. Went on holiday last week and feeling more like myself again now.

    News from me:

    1. Back to trying the old-fashioned way. I decided to try those Clearblue advanced ovulation sticks that detect the estrogen increase prior to the LH surge, and supposedly give you two days of 'high fertility' before the 'peak fertility' of the surge. But so far, I've had the stupid flashing face for 'high fertility' for six days with no sign of the solid ovulation face. It's taunting me! Looked online and lots of people have the same problem with the tests going off early and giving too much warning of ovulation. Unimpressed for the price!

    2. In a not-at-all-cliched move after another fertility setback, we're getting a kitty!!! Hubby's had his own cats before. I haven't, but at our old house our next door neighbour's cat spent most of his time at ours and I've been missing him like crazy since we moved. A lady at work needs to rehome her cat so we're getting him on Wednesday. :D

I'm so sorry to those who have had BFNs and bad news recently. :( This journey just absolutely sucks sometimes and it's so unfair. Sending you all positive thoughts and mental hugs and T-rexes. x

We did this in-between IVF cycles and it was without a doubt the best thing we've done in years. Can't imagine life without him now :)

I've been procrastinating about getting a kitty for AGES, as I've not had a pet of my own before and I keep wondering if I'm committed enough, if I'll cope with disturbed sleep, etc etc etc. Yes, this from someone TTC! Finally decided to just do it - what's the worst that can happen? ;)

Read back a bit and I'm so sorry to hear your news, lovely tea lady*. :( *hugs*

    * OK, that's not the best nickname for you

We did the even more cliched get a dog thing and I panicked a bit at first too. But it's totally the best thing we ever did.

Thanks guys. Feeling more reassured that the nerves I now have are normal!
  • I wanted to come back to this thread to say thanks for everyone who took the time to reply to some of my questions, we went for our scan last Monday and even after 6-8 pregnancy tests being positive my wife has had a miscarriage which has been heart breaking but we are both very thankful we have a beautiful 7 yr old daughter that is the light of our lives.

All the best to all you ladies who are striving for a child I wish you every success.
