I know, I'm just being a wuss :o I've already thought about the pudding - the word diet will not be mentioned in our house next week!

I haven't been on here the same lately as sometimes it does you good to "forget" your fertility problems for a while when you aren't undergoing treatment. I have pages to read back on but I'm very sorry to see that you are back here PM, big hugs to you! Xx

Frozen 22 shows is pretty impressive! Hope you had a fantastic time. Good luck with your scratch. I felt a bit crampy after mine for a couple of days and bled a little but other than that it was fine. :)

Tam I had a lap & dye in 2008, I had a week off of work after it as you don't realise just how much you use your tummy muscles in a day. I had to roll on to my side and then put my feet on the floor first to get up out of bed rather than just get up normally as it was too sore. I'm getting a hysteroscopy on Thursday so will fill you in on that later :D

Hugs to those that need them xx

I've had quite a few laps and they've all been fine. I've not had a hysteroscopy.

The worst thing I've found afterwards is the referred shoulder pain from the CO2. - this was a real shock to me after the first lap as I'd never heard of it. Once I knew what it was it was fine, so hopefully you're nice and prepared :)

You'll probably be a bit sore and a bit uncomfortable afterwards - but absolutely nothing awful. A couple of days on the sofa with control of the remote and some comfort food should work wonders.

My top tip would be to make sure you take some comfy clothes and underwear with you. You'll probably be a bit bloated and sore (again, nothing awful) and the last thing you want is tight pants that cut right across your middle. I usually buy a cheap pair of jogging bottoms in the next size up and a few pairs of comfy granny pants.

Literally a very very fast pop in!
Our surrogate is going with her hubby for her first appointment tomorrow looking at having a cycle and transfer (our embryo) in October. Just got to get all the counselling done and surrogate tests, but she is starting on them tomorrow and it is only normal tests (Scan, HIV etc etc)
Hugs to everyone and extras to you PM, you are in my thoughts xx

    Thanks Fairy and Tea :)

It's the first real big thing we/I have had to have done since being referred to the FS, so we have had to tell family and friends what's happening (Just told my Mum and sil to start off with).

It's amazing how everyone is suddenly and expert on my bits without ever having had any problems of their own:rotfl:, so it's reassuring to get information from people who have actually been there and done it!

Yep totally agree that everyone is an expert, particularly those who tell you to just relax and it will happen :mad:

Ooh exciting times lisa, hope you're well xx.

I like to think of a lap as a good excuse to watch repeats of Friends all day and be waited on for a bit :)
Think I must be due another one :rotfl:.

I had my lap&dye on a Thursday afternoon and was easily back to work on Monday.

On the day I was allowed a small breakfast before 7am, then had go be at hospital by late morning. They weighed me and took a urine sample then left me in bed for hours with a book, which was actually quite pleasant. A variety of people came to talk to me about the procedure and I signed various forms. After a while they took me to theatre. In the ante room they took my glasses off and gave me a couple of injections and I drifted off. I remember waking up in recovery feeling lovely and floaty :) After a little while they took me back to the ward where I read some more. I was ravenous, and they gave me a cheese sandwich. They said I could leave once I'd got up and been to the loo, so I drank tea and water like they were going out of fashion! DH had phoned in to check if i was ready to leave, and by the time he arrived I was. Baggy clothes to wear home are a must.

I didn't feel too much discomfort, just bloated and the sore shoulders. They recommend you walk around regularly to help dissipate the CO2.. After a day or two I was fine. My stiches didn't dissolve as I'd been told they would, so I could have seen a GP, but I'm naughty and removed them myself. Tiny scars left now, one just below my tummy button and another at the top of my pubes.

I hope that helps you feel a little less nervous. Enjoy the anaesthetic - it's lovely, and take a nice dressing gown and slippers so you feel more at home :)

Thanks Floaty :) Everyone is so lovely on here, it really is a Godsend this site.

It's getting up early that's probably going to be the worst bit by the sound of it (I am not a morning person!) I have to be at the hospital for 7.30am which is about an hour away, so going to have to get up at about 5.30am for that last possible cuppa (I'm really not a morning person without tea!). The only reason I usually get up that early is if I'm going on holiday :rotfl:
